We absolutely love how centrel this hotel is, across the road from St james park, close to shops and literally a 10minute walk to the train station. The staff were really friendly(especially on the front desk) the rooms are really good, beds are super comfy, breakfast was okay with plenty of options.
We didnt dislike anything, although if we had gi be picky, then there's no toilet brush

It was in a great location and the facilities and decor were very nice.
The room we stayed in was very loud in terms of anyone that went to the elevator or walked past the room, we could hear everything.

Great location.
Great staff.
Rooms are getting a little dated.
But they are kept clean and presented well enough.

Great location, friendly staff, good facilities, everything was clean, really comfy bed!
It could definitely do with an upgrade, although clean everything was a little run down. There’s no option on the TV for streaming services.

Location was very central
There was a strong odour of damp when we walked into the room which was confirmed by marks on the walls around the window sill. The carpet was very frayed and looked like it needed to be replaced. The shelf above the toilet in the bathroom was loose and looked like it was going to fall off the wall.

All the Hotel is interested in is taking money off you not service
constant emails about upgrades very expensive breakfast of low quality

I liked the space and the balcony, it was well equipped with everything u would need.
It was cold, apart from the bedroom that had the only radiator in, we left all the doors open to the bathroom as there was no heat in there.

A light flashed on and off on its own accord all night keeping me awake

Loved the location, the hotel was well managed and the staff were lovely. The lobby was appropriately decorated for Christmas and was very welcoming. The room was really spacious with its own kitchen and living area. We will certainly be back! The beds were comfy, the room temperature was easy to control.
The breakfast in the morning was excellent but the orange juice was off. There was a suspicious white stain on the carpet by the bed and the sliding glass bathroom door was unusual.

The breakfast was great. Lots of choice and piping hot. I thought the reception staff were lovely and very efficient.
Room was fine, but the little radiatior struggled to warm the room. It was January after all. There was quite a bit of traffic noise too,

Location was great. Easy walk into the centre of the city with lots of places for shopping, eating and drinking near by. Room was great size and exactly what we required.
I think the hotel is perfect for 1 or 2 night stays only.
The lift if very poor. Very slow and on busy days you could be standing almost 15 minutes before the lift arrives.
Breakfast is limited and not ideal.
Hosuekeeping is not very proactive, despite requesting many times for fresh towels its was 3 to 4 days before getting fresh towels.
Parking isnt great and expensive. The quote of the hotel having parking on site is not correct. Its offsite parking which must be be paid additionally.

Location and comfort
Painfully slow check in, with a queue where only one staff member was on at what seems a peak time, with other members of staff laughing and walking around. Extortionate additional cost around parking and a small dog. Then, even after having an email stating hotel guests have a reduced parking charge, the desk trying to charge the higher rate.

Very nice staff
Only one heater in the bedroom, meaning the living area and kitchen were cold a lot of the time

First off the location of the hotel is fantastic. What you have to realise is that Newcastle is the real Capital of England.St.James's park is the cathedral of dreams and this wonderful hotel is literally just over the road from NUFC.The hotel is is approx a 6minute walk to Eldon Square and Northumberland St.Over the road is a fantastic venue called the Stack,I will come back to the stack duly. From entering the hotel through sliding glass doors reception is on the left the restaurant is on the right. The reception staff on the day we arrived were fantastic very helpful and very knowledgable. They allocated us a room on the 10th floor, room number 6 you can tell by the review up to now we loved the place our room was just right nothing flash just what we wanted the view is spectacular..oh the bed was so comfortable the shower was just right. The breakfast was very nice.Oh we used the car park which is a two minute walk away round the corner in china town.We stayed on Sunday the 23rd Nov checked out on the 24th.We got a Black Friday deal on the room rate.Perfect hotel perfect location give it a go .What I would say is in all honesty that if NUFC are at home during your stay outside of the hotel would be extremely busy and maybe a little noisy The Stack over road is a fantastic venue with huge TV screens for watching football whilst having a meal and a cool one to drink. We went in on the Sunday night and loved the vibe in there (I am 69 my wife 65)We watched Arsenal thrash Tottenham then we enjoyed the music.Basicaly the hotel is PET FRIENDLY. woohooo you can arrive by car dump the car in the car park and you are basically in the middle of the City. There isn't a better hotel or location in the City.I am a Geordie who no longer lives in the area we loved every second of our stay.Thank you Deborah on reception and everyone else who spoke to

It was well decorated, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, very homely vibe but made it feel luxurious at the same time
The walls were quite thin so you could hear if anyone was walking by, but it was rather quiet anyway so didn’t bother us!

The location was fab, the bed was comfortable
It is very noisy with traffic, was advertised of having a car park but we had to pay at Q car parks with a discount. Breakfast was extra even though it was £146 a night which i also thought was included. Expensive stay just for a bed.

Location of hotel
I payed to be in suite , the room the basically located on the stairs well between level 4/5.
All you could hear was banging people coming up and down the stairs.
The view over looked a dumping ground.
I was charged £129 which I thought must have been due to the location of the room and not having a view from our balcony. Which I thought fair enough.
However the next morning the reception person said " we have noticed you have been undercharged for your room"
I was going to challenged but felt embarrassed too due to a family stood next to me.
It was my partners 40 birthday, she's a big Newcastle fan so wanted to pay for a luxury room with view.. all I got was a room on stairs.. overlooking a dumping ground.
Such a shame.

Clean hotel, central location , the most comfy bed I have ever slept in , friendly staff
Breakfast was average and not stocked accordingly, some guests were complaining that certain items had ran out and not restocked

Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcomed, as well as caring with our dog.
The room could be a bit better, some dusty places specially around the bed side lights

Location is excellent, staff were helpful and the hotel lobby is welcoming
Lift was out of order, room service was not room service, asked for it and come back to all they had done was empty bins, replace 3 out of 4 towels - did not replace toilet roll or clean, plus we were there for 5 days.
We stayed in 518 and paid a lot of money for this, in my opinion was not worth the money, room was small and the kitchen area could do with a good clean and upgrade, windows did not shut properly so the noise from the shack was loud each night too

Would have loved to have hair conditioner and body lotion

Breakfast great. Brilliant location as we normally spend time at this end of the town.
Fab apartment room which would be great if you were staying for a few nights, as it had a fully equipped kitchen area.

The location was ideal for us. Right off metro & up from arena where we were going.
The air con was awful and room was very warm, the stains on the sheets & mattress is embarrassing and utterly shocking. If we had another option and wasn’t so late we wouldn’t have stayed!

Room 118. Situated half way up the central hotel staircase ( yes you read that right) between the ground floor and 1st floor. We’d booked a suite and was expecting something a little more luxurious than an old store room that had been renovated into a so called room. Fittings and furnishings were decent however the room was dirty (floors hadn’t been cleaned ) and the location meant that the room was dark and miserable. No view as the windows were half way up the wall. On top of this there was the stench of cooked food and hot grills from the kitchen that filled the stairway from the main entrance.
Add on to this the fact that the hotel didn’t answer the phone on multiple occasions when trying to enquire about parking. Left people standing in the reception whilst the two staff members on duty tried to accommodate a busy check in. Yes it was match day and yes the hotel was fully booked but surely the hotel management were aware of this beforehand. A very poor experience !

Location is perfect. Within walking distance of town and local shopping centre.
Across the road from St. James Park which was the primary reason for our trip.
Friendliness of the staff made our stay all the better
A little tweak needed on the shower in our room but that has been reported and to be fixed.

The location was very good. Near to a metro station, it was also an easy walk to town centre. A Tesco Express is next to the hotel. The staff were amazing, especially at breakfast in the dining room. A good varied breakfast was on offer each day. We were opposite The Stack, the music finished at 12 and didn't cause problems.
We checked in early evening for 4 nights on bed and breakfast basis. I was disappointed with the room. We paid an extra £15 per night for a high floor which is what we got and it gave us a good view of St James Park Stadium. The room, however, wasn't particularly clean. The carpet was grubby, and didn't look like it had been hoovered, a layer of dust on the skirting was thick and a dirty cap from a makeup bottle was lying in the corner on the floor. The bathroom door was thick with fingerprints. I mentioned all this to reception the following morning. They apologised and said they would send in housekeeping (housekeeping do not usually clean on a daily basis). We checked out 3 days later - the dust, fingerprints and makeup cap were all still there. A kettle and microwave are provided. The bed and pillows were comfy. The space around one side of the bed was small so it was difficult getting into bed without hitting arm on the pictures on the wall. We were able to view the Red Arrows from our room on the day of the GNR.
4.0 / 10.0
The location was good for the great north run. The staff put out water, food and other bits on the morning which was thoughtful and a nice touch. Some of the issues we had were resolved while we were there.
The room was not clean - it was dusty and there was hair on the mirrors. The glass sliding doors in a family room are not practical. The shower head didn't work, nor did the "smart TV" / chromecast, the window didn't shut and one of the lights was coming off the wall. The quality was far below what we expected due to lots of little issues - any one would have been fine but together it was disappointing. Also it has no air con which is challenging on a warm day.
