Great location and the staff were super friendly

I liked the location, ease of checking in, that there was parking and our room was spacious.

The bathroom let to room down, it needed updating.

very disgusting weird smell on the ground floor walking towards the bar, wasn’t a fridge in the room this time, tried to charge me double for parking, food was over priced and very small portions

Shocking staff who may need some refreshing course in customer services.

The only positive about this property was that it was close to the university arena .

Well from rude and aggressive staff to the foul smell of sewage throughout the hotel. I will leave the the list there as to what I didn’t like about the property.

A nice hotel in a good location

The main public areas of the hotel were excellent. The reception, the restaurant and sports bar were really nice, and they were lovely and warm cosy, on a damp cold day. The staff were all super friendly.

The bedroom was small, and needed a bit of a refurb.

Great location to visit student at NCL Uni

The room was fine - comfy bed, good shower. The carpet needed replacing several years ago.

The food in the restaurant is good but the choice for anyone who doesn't eat red meat is very limited. The serving staff took a tree nut allergy very seriously - and were very helpful

the warmest place on a snowy January night with great customer service

We arrived in January on the evening it snowed and was bitterly cold outside. The staff were amazing with a special thanks to Nicola the Duty Manager - she ensured all guests could use their heating controls in rooms, all public areas were warm and everything ran well including food and drinks. Check in was swift and smooth. Breakfast is really good for the price I paid with hot food delivered frequently by the chef - for example 6 freshly fried eggs at a time, rather than 30 that have been sitting there a while, which you often get elsewhere - and staff always on hand to help. The location is good - it's near the metro but more importantly it's the nearest modern hotel to Jesmond. In super cold weather, having modern rooms with double glazing and modern plumbing rather than a converted Victorian building makes a difference and for a stopover comfort and ease is my main goal.

BEYOND THE HOTEL'S CONTROL but.... Please can the external electric car charging please mend the broken e-chargers and then maintain them properly. I think 2 were not working. It's not fair on electric car drivers, nor the hotel as it takes up 4 bays in their carpark.

Disappointing

Location Nice breakfast

I paid extra for a larger bed on my booking. Was two beds pushed together which was uncomfortable. Was lots of noise during the night from other guests slamming doors and talking outside my room which kept me awake. There was what looked like pubic hair in the bath. We went to use the restaurant and a member of staff just said "ah its closed" so we had to look for somewhere else to go. If there was issues with the restaurant then it should of been mentioned when booking or at least at check in.

on arrival, staff were very helpful and informative, and seemed so happy to help, rooms were spotless, spacious and well appointed... breakfast was superb and very good value.

If I have to be really picky, the wash basin unit was too close to the toilet (room 135) and shower pressure was low, but neither would stop me booking again.

Room was spacious. Breakfast was excellent, as were the serving staff. Location was ideal for access to the city centre. Complementary tea/coffee and water/ snacks in fridge were also excellent.Bed was very comfortable.

Hotel corridors were too warm. Toilet seat was not a slow closer.Traffic to front was audible, especially regular Ambulances!.Soap dispenser to shower not working, even after advising receptionist.Room doors slam shut.

Lovely hotel in Newcastle

Great location not far to travel in to the city centre. Friendly staff at breakfast & in bar. Lovely breakfast although had to wait for items to be topped up. Good size room, huge bed, good facilities in room.

No information given when checking in ie what time breakfast was, directions to lift/rooms, or info on facilities at the hotel. Had to pay for car park. No sign on 1st floor when coming down from 2nd floor as to where the stairs were.

Welcoming

The staff went above to help me as I was staying as husband was having major surgery in The Freeman. Provided extra bed, sat me in a quiet part of the restaurant. Generally VG customer service.

The comfort of the z bed provided hence score for comfort.thinnest mattress and felt the springs.

Never lets us down this Hotel - Breakfast 10/10- room great - staff fabulous

We often stay here as it’s so close to the Metro but you can also walk into town in 10mins . Staff are ALWAYS friendly and breakfast great . If you like porridge , it’s a must . We got a fab deal as it was a Sunday and it was quiet . Huge bed & bath in room . Late check out if you are an IHG member too .
