First time I stayed at Whites Hotel. After this experience would do so again

Very helpful and cheerful staff.... facility very good value for money....good location and free parking was essential wifi signal was excellent

Simple and basic point.... there is an unexpected step just just as you go through reception to the upstairs floor...nearly tripped going in and out a few time. Easily put right using a ramp. No tripping hazard and wheelchair friendly

The bar downstairs was a popular student bar so most nights were quite noisy. Even after the bar was closed the local area had lots of student accomodation. This meant noise from people returning from night out, especially as our room was at the front of the hotel.

Alex made many stay slightly acceptable unfortunately I wouldn’t stay again

Hi the only thing I did like really was Alex on reception she goes above and beyond obviously not her fault I was on the second floor I had room service meal was very nice but I did ask for an ice cream sundae ended up with a milkshake which I don’t like so unfortunately a bit of a waste

Firstly I want to say if it wasn’t for Alex I probably wouldn’t have stayed the 3 nights she really looked after me Also you need to be stating on the information it’s student hell I even had to deal with them being sick outside not pleasant I was given a room downstairs as I find stairs very difficult due to mobility issues but I had to be moved as the pub is also downstairs and it was so loud was terrible she even admitted they don’t put people in there so I had to struggle then up to the second floor as I said thank goodness for Alex she helped me so obviously going up and down I found this caused me a lot of pain I actually felt very unwell during my stay Also I was there 3 nights not once did housekeeping come in and supply me with clean towels milk and toilet paper etc I had to ask at reception Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay again and also only went down due breakfast once it was awful I like cereal etc but it tasted awful so Cheao also no proper cups just fairly poor over all

Little Gem in Jesmond!!!!

Booked this hotel at the last minute and was 8 min walk from the university where I needed to be. Wasn’t expecting much, but this place is a little gem. The breakfast was amazing for £7.50 and the evening food was top notch for a city pub as-well. Rooms were a little tired and could do with redecorating but they were immaculately clean and had everything you needed tv, desk and the most comfy bed I’ve ever had in a uk hotel and I travel a fair bit. What really shined for me, were the amazing staff who work here, nothing is too much trouble or a problem for them, I especially enjoyed chatting with the northern Irish lady when I was checking out, she is a absolute credit to the business. Hotel is a 20 min walk into Newcastle centre. I will be staying here again in future when I’m in Newcastle.

Drains in the shower smelt really bad, the room was very scruffy looking, the only mirror in the room was hidden by a TV, Very very loud on a night - very young students in the bar downstairs till very late. Breakfast was pretty much non-existent (Packet pan au chocolate, small fruit bowl and an open box of cereal). Room was very stuffy and warm, mixed with the smell, wasn't nice. Only plug sockets in the room were on one side of the room and there was two. one pillow each. Definitely would not stay here again, not even worth the cheap price we paid for it.

Very good location, perfect for my stay. Good bar in the evening - a busy Saturday night but no problem finding accept or getting served. All staff very friendly.

Room location was fairly odd - room was hidden behind a door in a very narrow corridor. Would have been impossible for anyone with accessibility requirements. Couldn't actually get into the room for 10 minutes as 4 successive key cards didn't work. Room itself was fairly clean, but shower was virtually cold. Didn't mention it at the time as I was already in it at that point. Breakfast was not exactly continental- a few pre-packed croissants, bread, a toaster, jams and 2 jugs of juice (1 leaking). Coffee from the machine was ok.

Worst hotel ive ever been to . Went into 4 rooms due to ours smelling of so much damp and all the other rooms was worst the smell was horrendous . Pictures are very miss leading and the customer service skills to rectify my issue in raising a refund was terrible , thank god my bank got involved to get me my money back . I wouldnt recommend this place to anybody

noise levels from bar area . very tired hotel needs some money spent, overall cleanliness not good although the room was ok if a bit on the small side, getting into the bathroom took a bit of thought. parking advertised as on side and free was true but on a first come first served basis, this information not mentioned until booking complete as was the £ 50 deposit. booked for 3 nights only managed 2

The room was nice and clean and the staff were amazing and more than helpful. I would highly recommend this place just based off my experience with the staff as they went above and beyond, especially the lovely girl who works weekends. They also have a small breakfast included which was convenient for ourselves and were able to accommodate to all our requests.

The only issue if you could call it one is that there are a lot of stairs and the lay out of how to get to the rooms can be slightly confusing for the first time. so for those who need accessible rooms be sure to enquire before hand if they have any.

The bed was small and lumpy. The lighting was poor and one of the light bulbs did not work. There was not much space in the bathroom, could not sit on the loo properly.

DO NOT STAT HERE!

On arrival, I was shocked to learn that I needed to pay an extra £50 deposit for any damages caused, which I still haven't had back. I asked if I could cancel my booking and go else where as this was not a small amount of money to suddenly not have, I was told that this couldn't be done so I either had to lose the room and money or pay the extra £50. The stairs to the room stank of sewerage and were hanging off the wall. Once in the room it was clear that the pictures online did not represent the rest of the rooms, damaged carpets, faulty wiring, broken wardrobes and mould on the ceiling of the bathroom. Unfortunately, I did not have the money to stay elsewhere as all my money was now in this hotel. My daughter and I were close to tears. The bed was not a double as was advertised so I ended up sleeping in a chair. In the morning I went to strip the bed and found that the mattress protector was filthy. My daughter and I are now also covered in bites or a rash from this night. Also, the breakfast provided was dry white toast and a paper cup of coffee.

The welcoming staff I was worried about being able to park, as I would be arriving late I didn’t want to arrive our Daughter and I no parking space ( Due to medical problems of mine ) They contacted me without hesitation and reversed a parking bay for me right near the car park entrance to the hotel The lovely man who checked us in even helped me bring my luggage into our room from my car ( which he didn’t have to ) We stayed for 2 nights ( was up there a festival to see Robbie Williams ) it was walking distance to and from the location of the event so convenient When I arrived home I couldn’t find a attachment to my nebuliser I searched and searched and searched I reached out to the Whites Hotel and Alex the young girl , couldn’t of been so helpful She checked lost property, but unfortunately it was there So she said “leave it with me and I will contact housekeeper “ Typical of course it wasn’t there I found it at home in place I would of never had put it there It was total random how I found it Of course I contacted The Whites Hotel ASAP Alex answered the call and she said she was just going to call me to say they couldn’t find it She went above and beyond to help me even though I had ended my stay there So big shout out to Alex Thank you The Whites Hotel and thank you again Alex xx

Everything was plain sailing really Only down fall was after you book you get a email saying that on arrival you have to pay a deposit of £50 for the room, which will be returned the same day My advise would be take £50 in cash as it’s instant pay back , rather than waiting to hit back in your payment method ( in my case it was the following day )

Everything... I didnt stay i checked out when I got back to the room, it was so dirty black mould in the shower, stains in the toilet, stains on the wall tiles, broken bathroom door, dirty beds, disgusting smell all through hotel of sewage

Location was good lots of restaurants and places to eat all in working distance

Very loud humming noise from some external extractor fan all night. The corridors smelled awful they have out cheap £1 air fresheners on the stairs and landing areas. Dirty bedsheets, stains on the roof tiles in the bedroom everything needs a good clean
