Great location. Room roulette: some nice, some poor.

Great location. Lovely view of the river Tyne and bridges. Easy to park. Reception staff were friendly and polite.

This wasn’t the first time we stayed here. If it was, we wouldn’t have gone back. Room was very tired. Bathroom was thick with dust and dirty in places. Pillows were poor. Charging dock did not charge. The hotel bar is utterly soulless with a bar tender that clearly did not want to be there. Very disappointing after an impressive, previous stay.

Spacious rooms with lovely views from the tall window and balcony. Comfy bed and spacious bathroom. Plenty of choice for breakfast.

Outdated and overpriced

Staff were nice on check in, went downhill from there.

Had to call reception as water was freezing in shower, left it running 15 minutes.. Breakfast was absolutely shocking, had ran out of fried egg, scrambled eggs and bacon. Had to wait over 10 mins. Apparently chef didn’t think they would go through as much, stayed in lower rated hotels in Newcastle and had better experience.

Perfect location

Everything really, but most of all location! We will always choose the Copthorne as a place to stay when visiting Newcastle as it has everything you need.

Room on the Tyne..

Room was very spacious and uncluttered with furnishings. Location looking out onto river Tyne was qiite a view.

Nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Great staff. A bit of a walk up the hill into Newcastle town.

Friendly check-in staff. We were early, and unable to check-in, but they provided us with a map and suggested we walk into town. We did! A nice walk, but a long way and up a very big hill. Good exercise though! When we checked in, we had a lovely view of the river, and the room was clean and comfortable. Not many people in the hotel (just before Christmas), so service in the bar and restaurant was great.

Great location, great staff.

Great location for New Year’s Eve festivities Staff were very attentive, felt welcome from the moment we stepped through the doors. Nice atmosphere throughout the hotel.

Our room was quite cold and only had a tiny radiator which clicked constantly every time it started heating up the room. Breakfast was sub par, hardly anything was out and the quality wasn’t great for the standard of the hotel. Had to pay £15 per night to park in the hotel owned car park. For the price of a room per night, it should be free.

Lovely hassle free stay.met up with family who loved that all rooms faced river and are now keen for our stay to be an annual event. Requested that my 85 year old mam be located in room next door and received a lovely email to say this had been done.all staff were so welcoming and nice. Just to mention Christmas trees and decor were beautiful and we especially loved the artwork depicting local landmarks.

We would have loved to watch the football in hotel with half price cocktails!But given the result (Sunderland won) maybe it was for the best that it wasn’t shown.😉

Lovely hotel with lovely staff. Great views of the River Tyne and bridges.

Lovely views of the river and bridges, with easy access to the Quayside amenities.

We chose to come by train instead of driving. It is a steep walk to get up to the city centre. Apparently there is a Quayside bus service but we weren’t aware until we left. This isn’t the fault of the hotel, but perhaps making the service known would be a bonus.

Always try your best stay at a Copthorne due to lovely views and helpful staff

Paying for disabled parking. Unfortunately it costs a lot if you are staying for a few days and in future, we will have to perhaps look at how much extra it will be with parking when you are not near the city center.

The staff were very helpful. The room had a lovely view of the water. Comfortable beds. Quiet. Good breakfast (although it’s an extra charge).

Not enough plugs for tech, especially by the beds. Too far to walk with luggage from train station — Uber £7.
