    Some reviews say the place looks dated, and while that is true compared to many contemporary hotels the facilities were clean and comfortable and spacious which also compares favourably and despite the room overlooking a busy city centre street the room was surprisingly quiet. The leisure facilities were in a separate building and required purchasing an additional pass but the let down was the confusing layout and lack of usable lockers. There were also many stairs to negotiate in the hotel which may make mobility difficult for some. The food menu was quite restricted in range but was very enjoyable and breakfast had a broad range of hot and cold options

    I had never stayed at the hotel before but booked it at fairly last minute due to meetings in the area. The location is great as it's next to the station but I didn't really heR the trains so that was a relief. There is access to a gym and pool and other facilities which whilst quite small did the job if you want to burn off the lovely breakfast provided. I was warmly welcomed by Zoe on reception who explained everything to me in terms of timings, location etc and she was really friendly so thank you and a shout out to her. The hotel looked a little tired in places but it was still a very nice hotel, very good room sizes and an impressive building. I also had a last minute meeting and needed to have a meeting somewhere and I spoke to Michael in the bar area and special shout out to him as he had set up the eating area for the afternoon teas they provide but as I only needed an hour in the morning, he kindly cleared me a space for me to have my meeting and also served our drinks which was really appreciated. As I was leaving, I also saw Michael providing afternoon teas fir a group of 5. His polite and friendly mannerism was also there for them, having a laugh with them, taking photos for them and asking what they wanted and when. I used to be a mystery shopper many years ago and he was really good. All in all, nothing bad to say, a great location, great facilities, great food and fantastic people. Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable for my first time in Newcastle and will not hesitate to visit again, whether for business or pleasure and would stay here next time, definitely recommended to anyone else.     Positives,great location next to the station and the staff are friendly. Negatives- we stayed on the 4th floor and even though it wasnt that hot outside, the room was seriously hot.opening the windows doesn't help and there's no air-conditioning in the room. The hotel room itself is very outdated and needs a serious refurbishment. The TV hardly worked as the aerial cable was broken. The floor is uneven and a trip hazard too.i wouldn't stay here again.
