The staff were all very welcoming and chatty.
Only niggle I had was the breakfast wasn’t great, the hash browns and scrambled eggs were cold both days that I stayed. But that’s the only negative I have.

Room and location are great loads of bars around the hotel and a 5 minute walk to the railway station
All good

Staff were very friendly. It felt safe walking to and from the station and the Utilita Arena.
It was a bit cold in the room (but I didn’t ask for help either!).

Close to the station
I had to change rooms, as a local club was open and the music was loud. They moved me straight way to a roomat the other end of the building

Good for one night in Newcastle. Friendly staff. Very close to station and quayside. Kind receptionist who helped us with our bags and getting a taxi.
Our view was of a parking lot next to train tracks, street was a little bare and rough (large part of ground floor underneath hotel is empty and for lease, which makes it look less attractive at the moment). Hotel can’t help that though and the hotel itself looks good once you’re inside.

Lovely decor and very clean. Great location.
Glass door on bathroom which light shone through so if used during night bedroom was bright. No instructions on air con use.

This is an ideal location for a city break or a business trip. It is about a minutes walk from Newcastle Central Station.
All the city's big sights are easily reachable from the hotel, the Science Park, the gay village, the quayside Sunday market, the big shopping centres, St James Park football ground, all are walkable. You are also a minutes walk away from the High Level Bridge, which crosses the Tyne and takes you into Gateshead. The 21 bus stop is also a minutes walk away and takes you to the Angel of The North statue in about 20 minutes on a quiet traffic day. That bus service runs all day and is a pretty regular service.
If you want to go further afield, local trains and buses will take you to most areas, including Whitely Bay.
The room was a nice size and had all the facilities one needs from hotel. And they haven't skimped on the bathroom! So often with these hotels, they give you a nice room, but a pokey bathroom. Not here. The shower room had plenty of space for even an old elephant like me. And (for once) the loo was set at a good height. Oh, and I loved the heated mirror.
The staff at the hotel are very friendly and once again prove British people can and do work in the hospitality industry. Don't think I am having a downer on foreigners, I am not. Its just that as a the son of a silver service waiter, I am fed up with constantly being told the British can't and wont work in hospitality. They can and do, and in this hotel, they do it very well indeed.
I included breakfast in my deal, something I would recommend. I tend to stuff myself with breakfast and that lasts me through a whole day of wandering round. There was plenty to cater for all diets.
So, for its location, value for money and its suitability for solo travellers, I am giving this place a big thumbs up. I need to do another weekend break in Newcastle to catch up with what I missed, so this place will be first on my list.
The wall mounted air-conditioning system was a bit noisy. At one point, I thought the fire alarm was going off. The control panel was also a bit fiddly. However, the hotel staff reset it from their control and it was fine after that. Have to say that is a very minor issue that takes nothing away from a super little hotel with excellent staff.

Very close to station. Very reasonably priced. Would be fine for a solo traveller or when you just need a place to stay.
The room was very small and the bathroom extremely tight. Air con was not working. Safe died and started making beeping noise at 3am. Staff on first day not the most helpful or customer service oriented. The staff member who checked us out was most pleasant and offered a partial refund without us even asking so didn’t score them too low.

Good value for money. Very close to Central Station. Very comfy bed.
Nothing really. The room was very basic but that was fine, it had everything I needed. Possibly a little cool but I wasn’t cold in the night, all good.

Central Location, 5 minutes walk from station, yet quite road, not too much noise (I stayed on second floor). Room was basic but clean, tidy and had all what is needed for a quick work trip.
Bathroom too crammed

Great location, lovely view of Newcastle keep… good size room and bed…
Bathroom was tiny. Tv was small and quite far away from the bed…
Other guests returning in the early hours were very noisy and a bit inconsiderate… hotel can’t be blamed for that I suppose… but it would make me consider another hotel for my next night in Newcastle…

Location and clean well equipped room
Arrived about 2.30 knowing the room wouldn't be ready yet there were 3 receptionists on duty not 1 looked up for at least 2 to 5 mins. Then 1 said am dealing with a check in take a seat. She didn't even look up from her computer screen. We only wanted to leave case but went to toilet and left and came back later to check in with a new friendly receptionist. This is the first face of the hotel and this wasn't a good experience.
Secondly we were in room 106. People staying in rooms in the corridor and next door come home around 2am and were in and out of rooms then settled in room next to us. They were so loud from 2am until 5ish talking loud and banging doors. There was no staff on apart from security staff and I was a women with my daughter in the room, so wasn't leaving to speak to security guard. Didnt know how to contact them, but I didn't get much sleep. Very over priced for what you get. Room only with no sleep. Attached photo of view from room.

Reception and room was ready before time. Location near station and the castle was excellent for us. Also buses nearby
The air conditioning made the air dry and we could not get a right adjustment. Also it was a bit noisy
8.0 / 10.0
The rooms were very clean and tidy. We stayed 2 nights and the cleaners even came in after the first night and tidied which was a nice surprise. Staff were very freidnly and approachble, really nice place.
The walls/windows were very thin and it was quite noisy. Location also good as right in the centre and near everything was very loud from around middnight - 4am with people outside leaving or going to bars, which if you haven't gone out is really disturbing.
