Modern, spacious apartment in a great location.

Really nice spacious room on the 6th floor with views overlooking the river.

Toilet flush was very noisy and took a while to quieten down and the WiFi wasn't working for duration of our stay.

We stayed in the penthouse suite-friar house We found BloodStains on pillow, ripped window netting No smart tv which for the price we’d expect it to have been a smart tv Room was very dated and worn out, multiple bulbs blown, the only mirror in the room was unlit due to a bulb being out above the mirror Heating did not work. Purple chair had crusty dried food or something on the lower cushion. Upstairs grey sofa zips burst on lower cushions Wallpaper hanging off the walls, Dusty walls(cobwebs) Bathroom light taped up and toilet tissue wedged in a hole in the roof (see photos) Bathroom door rotten For £116 per night we’d expect better

Disappointing

I paid for liberty one bedroom, friar house, I wasn’t given the room that I paid for. I paid £240 for a bigger and better room and was given the wrong room. The room I got was much smaller. On photos there was an island in the kitchen and a big fireplace with a flat screen tv. We had no kitchen island, no fireplace, The tv we had was old and had about 10 channels. Disappointing paying so much for New Year’s Eve and being ripped off. I would like to have a refund, I have photos and a video of the room to prove it. We stayed in room 302

Spacious apartment near Central Station

Big bath towels. Spacious and clean. 5 min walk from Central Station. Morning croissant and hot drink much appreciated. Short leisure walks to St James Park and Grainger Market on one side, and to Quayside with all the famous bridges on the other side where the Tyne river is. Perfect location.

No washer/dryer in the apartment. Only one bathroom for what is considerably a huge apartment. Faulty bathroom door and freezer door in the fridge. No paper towels provided.

Great location with brilliant facilities and super comfy

Third time staying, in a different studio each time, and I am still satisfied with the facilities, comfortability, location and overall experience.

A minor issue with my room around the bathroom door being quite stiff - as a solo traveller the last thing you’d want is to get stuck in there.

Wanted to watch Childrren in Need on BBC but tv was unable to tune in. Despite staff members promising to fix the problem. No one did. Couldn’t use safe cos staff were junior. Light and fan over cooker didn’t work so it was dark when cooking.

Everything. The room was absolutely freezing, the temerities knob was broke on the shower. The tvs don’t get signal, the tv remotes intermittently worked sockets fell off the wall. It was tired needed repairs. I would not recommend or stay again. Absolute rip off for the money

It's a nice hotel and I would stay there again

I liked the place. The staff were friendly and helpful. It would have been good to have a little toothpaste in the bathroom. I didn't bring toothpaste as usually there is a little one provided when I stay in a hotel. Check in from 3pm was also not ideal but I was able to leave my bag so it wasn't a major issue.

Coffee table

The location and that someone was always on reception.

There was no table to put cups/glasses so had to be placed on the floor a coffee table would have been great ideally a small drop down table would have been great for eating a meal.

Definitely my first choice for future visits.

My second time staying at Roomzz in Newcastle. This visit was to attend an event at the Utilita Arena and it proved to be an excellent location again - an easy 10 min walk to the venue. (Roomz staff were, again, very friendly and helpful - happy to look after our bags after checkout and for us to relax for a bit in reception prior to our train journey home) We were also were lucky to be offered a free upgrade to a larger room.

I genuinely loved my room and would return and recommend. Very clean. Staff lovely. And location perfect for us. Only slight downside was a constant ticking noise through the night which seemed to be coming from the air con unit (it was switched off) - I struggled to tune out from it, but my partner didn’t lol. If you struggle to sleep or are a light sleeper, might be an issue.

Some good aspects but let down by important details

Great location, very clean, good kitchenette, excellent bed, very nice quality toiletries and hair dryer, friendly and helpful staff.

Room had clearly been smoked in, there was a lingering smell of smoke that didn’t go away even after opening the window. Morning croissants are of really poor quality. Bathroom does not have a window and it did smell damp. Stayed for over 2 days and room was only cleaned once (before our stay). TV did not work.

Be more open on website advising that this is an internal room, and is overlooked by reception.

Staff were really nice and helpful. Location was good. Nice touch with free drinks machine, and breakfast croissants. Bed was amazing. Shower was amazing too.

No drop off area, risk of getting a ticket. Room had no external window, nothing on website or booking.com mentioned this, the window we did have was overlooked by reception, we could see people looking in the room, so we kept the curtains closed all the time, it felt like a prison & for how much the room cost, this was naughty. No phone signal, we were in the dungeon (sorry basement), not everyone can set up wi-fi calling as easy. Cast/tv didn't work, ever, tried android phone, iPhone, iPad, nothing, just couldn't be bothered to ask the desk for someone to fix it, settled down for the night, and didn't want someone coming in the room messing around with the TV.

If you're looking for zzzz's at Roomzzz you won't be getting any here!

Location is close to railway station.

The TV remote was missing, it was eventually replaced after the first one was delivered to the wrong room. Sink leaked so got wet feet everytime we went into the bathroom, the cooker switch wasn't labelled, just randomly on an adjacent wall, had to Google how to unlock the induction hob. Cutlery looked like it had been through the dishwasher but still had bits of dried food stuck to them, along with a greasy brown frying pan. All of which we had to wash with the watered down washing up liquid and pre used looking sponge. Main problem was the noise from upstairs, we made six complaints in total to reception, stamping feet and crashing furniture from 6am to 2am!!! The night receptionist seemed to be the only staff member interested, we were told there was a permanent resident who had numerous complaints against her above our room (if this really was the case, it was totally irresponsible to place paying customers in the room underneath). To make matters worse noise wise, she was in the process of moving out. On our forth and final night we were given a different room, after packing, we got into our new room at 8 pm, bigger and nicer apt but only one tv remote for two tvs, no back on the remote so batteries fell out. We were given a minor refund after leaving, however the stress and serious lack of sleep ruined our holiday.

Good facilities in a central location

Great location and good facilities in well sized room.

Only downside was our bathroom smelled like drainage, to the point we had to keep the door closed and could barely use it. When reported we were told the hotel had overbooked by 3 rooms (not sure how that works) so we couldn’t move room, and just had to put up with it.

The location of the hotel is just great, close to both river as well as Central Station. The staff is absolutely friendly and helpful, no matter what kind of question. I occupied a room with view on the river which was quite nice. The room itself was very clean and well equipped. This place is not only great for a holiday or a weekend, but for a longer business trip as well.

Personally, I would have preferred a mattress not quite that soft. I occupied a room on the highest floor (7th) which had a wonderful view but got really hot since it was directly under the roof. There is air conditioning in the room though. The building itself is not well soundproofed since you can hear the fire doors (of the rooms) quite well which can be a nuisance at night around 3.30 am. But that happened only at the weekend...

Great location for a car-free visit to Newcastle and Gateshead quaysides.

Great location - a close walk from the railway station and to the quayside. and town centre. The accommodation was comfortable, spotlessly clean and the kitchenette well equipped. 24hr reception meant that we were able to leave our bags prior to check-in and after checkout. (Lucaz was especially welcoming and helpful - giving us initial directions and helping tuning in the TV.)

The 'grab and go' breakfast is a good idea but the croissants were a bit stale.
