Lovely little hidden find!

Everything, so peaceful. Staff really friendly, spotless.

Only thing was the hand soap dispenser was broken in the bathroom, but that was the only negative.

Overnight stay

The river view from our room. Spacious room. Comfortable bed Can't comment on the bar/restaurant as didn't have enough time to use it as we were going out into Newcastle. Handy for the Gateshead sport stadium.

Not a great deal of parking spaces. Being near an industrial estate may be off-putting for some people

Nice hotel, get what you pay for not city centre based like I thought

Comfy bed although, nice view. Clean.

Very noisy. Very out of the way. When we asked for extra pillows as literally given one pillow each we where given one more pillow to share between two of us and told they had no more. Also one coat hanger on the room and asked for extra to hang my clothes up and was never brung any.

Fine in a pinch.

The room itself was nice, decently furnished. Ample tea and coffee. Very noisy though, could constantly hear other guests walking around and their doors slamming. The view of the river is a good location, but it’s a shame that the hotel doesn’t appear to be willing to invest in the comfort.

The “high speed WiFi” is actually a very slow borderline unusable connection. It struggled to load a simple webpage, which as I was trying to do work during my stay meant I couldn’t. The “continental breakfast” consisted of a loaf of bread, a toaster, a bowl of 3 hard boiled eggs, some prepackaged croissants in plastic wrap, and a selection of cereals. There was more offerings of cake and yoghurts than anything breakfast related. Breakfast is breakfast but I’m not sure what continent they’re calling that! The same can be found in the Tesco bakery. Had to find someone to both check in and check out, there was usually one member of staff operating both the restaurant and check in. Also the lift was out of service which when carrying heavy bags meant walking up four flights of stairs.

Hotel is in a good location: on the river and close to Gateshead and Newcastle. The room was a good size, warm, clean and reasonably equipped.

Location was good, food in the restaurant was nice. TV is new and updated so easy access to entertainment. Bed was comfortable and the room was warm with a decent view. EDIT Got a phone call from hotel Management to address the issues listed and hotel management takes proactive steps to address issues faced by customers.

Excellent budget-friendly hotel from which to explore Newcastle and Gateshead

Beautiful location beside the Tyne. Excellent Turkish dish for dinner.

there was no breakfast available, and the biggest issues were that one of the rooms had no heat, so we had to get a small heater from the front desk. Also the elevator was not working, so we had to haul our bags up two flights of stairs. but other than no heat, no elevator, no breakfast, and being quite far from the main roads, the view was lovely and the desk staff was very very friendly.

The staff were very helpful good value for money bed very comftable . What i have stated that I don't like doesn't mean i am saying its not a good place its an amazing place but just being honest and I always make sure I fully clean strip the bed and empty the bins before I check out my room cannot grumble for the price and would definitely stay again maybe summer time

I did not like the fact of the floors creaking I am a late sleeper and I was on the ground floor but I felt like I could not walk around much because maybe I could disturb other guests also I don't think the room should be classed as luxury there is a few things that needs checking example skirting boards corners quite dusty the standing light full of dust . Also needs a mattress protector on the bed lift also not working

We arrived on the day before Christmas and stayed for two nights. Rooms were spacious and all facilities were available.

Staff were super amazing and rooms were comfortable.

Thin walls can hear the guests from other rooms walk. On the morning hot water was not available properly and the thermometer in the showers can be improved.

Didn't eat at hotel so can't comment on that part but from what i could see restaurant & bar were busy. Staff friendly. Nice location along the river. Was upgraded to river view room.

Not enough parking. Parking was included in the price but i had to park on the street the second night which wasn't ideal. Window in my room wouldn't open. The guy on reception said to push the button down & it would open. Didn't open and room was way too stuffy even with the radiator turned down. First impressions - room was nice but finish could have been better. Bathroom same as room - could have taken the time to give it a better finish. Nowhere to put your soap etc unless you were happy with the floor. No extractor fan so was like a steam room after my shower.

Young girl at reception require help on local area... I walked to a local pub at 20:00pm... DARK... Did like the solitude of RIVER THAMES OUTSIDE. Hotel team, asking if I required anything and trying to please me... Nice!

Safe and comfy for a solo traveller.

The staff are friendly and polite. The room was clean & comfy. TV worked. Plenty of tea and coffee available. Good shower pressure. The room was nice & warm, almost too much so in the morning. Good check in and check out times. Nice view of the river. Parking included & CCTV coverage. Didn't test the restaurant. Remote area. 10 mins via taxi into Newcastle. 15 mins drive to metro centre.

Shower difficult to operate temp wise & the head/ pipe was leaking a bit but the pressure was good. I was asked to turn my music down at 5:30pm, (travel speaker, so it's not capable of super loud) not sure the rooms are soundproofed as advertised. (When I returned at approx 11pm there was a lot of noise from the guests down the hall which I could hear in my room) The radiator in my room was constantly very loud, this didn't affect me as I'm a heavy sleeper but it might bother someone else!

The walls are quite thin, so can here what next door are up to. The temp on the shower wouldn't change, so it was permanently very hot. And the light switch for the bathroom was at the other end of the room.

Our room was really spacious ,very clean , the staff in the restaurant/bar were great gino & ozzy credit to the place. We ate there Saturday beautiful food great selection 😋 the surroundings are very nice lovely view of the river, be nice in the summer time.

The room we stayed in was the 2nd floor the lift wasn't working all weekend so was a bit tedious after a while no good if you had mobility issues. Our shower didn't have much cold water coming through lucky i love a red hot shower, sinks cold water wasn't coming through much. Tv kept knocking off 😒 , the bed was to hard for our liking woke up with a bad back I'm just used to softer mattress.

Average but has huge potential

Great little refurbished hotel on the waterfront. Excellent views. Staff were helpful and friendly. 20 minutes into town and handy to Gateshead. Needs more work but is a solid 3* hotel

Thin walls and creaky floors reduce relaxation and you can hear TVs next door. The bathroom was not fully clean with an unpleasant odour. We had to ask for a reclean. The shower temperature control was broken and clearly had been damaged and not fixed. We reported the scalding hot water that comes out, were promised a fix but it never happened. We ended up making do but it's certainly not ideal. Housekeeping in general lacks quality and consistency and management are aware of this. Bedsheets are too small for beds and keep coming off, the shower mat was pretty gross and left folded up in the shower - little things that show inexperience. Breakfast was quite poor and would certainly skip. Did not get a chance to try the dinner offerings.

Not a great experience

The view of the river is beautiful.

Chair in the room was broken, the corridor to the room was very dark and didn't feel very safe. Paint was peeling from the bathroom ceiling. There was dried on toothpaste on the tiles and a red nail polish mark on the wall. The bedside tables and light next to the bed wobbled and did not feel secure. Lift was out of order. Carpark was dark and packed with cars meaning I had to park on a patch of grass.

The property is situated in an amazing place, there’s so much to do nearby. The hotel is spotless and the facilities here are great. There’s an onsite restaurant which is beautiful. We even got a free upgrade on our room when we stayed. We keep coming back to this hotel as it’s the best we’ve stayed. Staff are great, friendly with good local information. There’s parking within steps of the hotel which is a bonus. It’s situated right on the riverside with spectacular views. It’s minutes away from the heart of Gateshead and Newcastle with South Shields and Sunderland close by too.

Absolutely perfect nights stay for our first visit to Newcastle

We didn’t have breakfast but the two young ladies that made our coffees were lovely and polite and the dining room was lovely and very well decorated. The view was lovely as well.
