Sunday for Sammy Stay

The location is ideal. The rooms are a good size. The staff friendly and helpful. The food was good.

The T.V. in the room wasn't working properly (we reported it to reception). We were waiting for a call from the spa, but the phone in the room also didn't work. There was a lot of noise from other guests during the night, banging doors, knocking on doors, and shouting. (Reported it to reception) Would have been nice to have bathrobes in room. It was cold during the night, but no spare bed covers.

Amazing breakfast

The breakfast was sooo good, so much choice. Rooms were lovely and spacious, the bathrooms very modern. Staff all very friendly and great to have pool and steam room. Great location too.

Nice hotel, but could be a bit cleaner!

Good location, friendly staff and had good facilities - including a private lounge for premium rooms, a spa with pool and a decent restaurant. Rooms were modern, comfortable and practicable.

We were moved to a different room because the room was dirty and clearly hasn’t been hoovered. We had to ask three times before we were upgraded and the new room was much cleaner.

Very Disappointing Stay at Crowne Plaza Newcastle

This hotel is an absolute joke and an insult to anyone who pays to stay here. The Crowne Plaza in Newcastle is a failure from top to bottom — rude staff, zero standards, and complete disrespect for guests. From the moment my friend and I walked in, we were treated like we were a problem. Staff gave us dirty, judgmental looks and acted openly hostile. No welcome. No professionalism. Just attitude. It was obvious we were being treated differently, and it only got worse as the stay went on. The room itself was miserable. The heating didn’t work, and the room was freezing. Despite reporting issues on day one, nothing was fixed. So on top of everything else, we were expected to sleep in a cold room in the middle of winter — completely unacceptable for a hotel charging premium prices. The room phone didn’t work either, which we discovered when trying to order room service. We called reception from our personal phones and were put on hold with no answer. I personally spoke to a room service worker who promised to call us back in 15 minutes. She never did. The phone was never fixed for the entire stay. Pure incompetence. Housekeeping was a disaster. We had dirty sheets with chocolate stains, no clean towels, and a messy room from food the night before. We put the sign on the door and politely asked multiple staff members for cleaning. Every single one tried to dodge responsibility with “it’s not my job” and “I’m not assigned to your room.” Unacceptable. Lazy. Unprofessional. When someone finally came, she did nothing. She removed the items we neatly placed aside, remade the bed with the same dirty sheets, and left us with one towel. No fresh towels. No clean bedding. That is disgusting. I had to go to reception furious before anyone acted. Only then did a staff member come to fix the mess — and even he admitted that for the price we paid, we should have stayed at another hotel because it would be 100 times better.

Top stay, would stay again!

Loved the location, not too close to the centre but close enough to walk everywhere. Very handy when you have a pram and can't hop in taxis as easily. There was a car park right next door and we got parked very easily even on a Sunday afternoon. The parking was only £10 for 24 hours which was very reasonable. The hotel was lovely, a swimming pool and spa available, we didn't use these facilities but would have if we had, had time. The entrance was decorated beautifully for Christmas and my 22 month old loved this photo opportunity. The room was really spacious and very clean, loved the separate shower and bath. There was a travel cot set up for us on arrival as requested which was clean and in good condition. We ordered room service later in the evening which was lovely. Check out was easy. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. We really enjoyed our stay and would most definitely stay here again.

To make our stay perfect we would have loved face cloths in the room, I always find it strange not to have a face cloth. I hate to have to carry around a wet face cloth in a toiletry bag until we arrive home. I understand that it's another item to launder but I do feel it's a beneficial item to have.

Perfevt and value for money

Perfect for us to relax and prepare before headingnout for the evening. Had upgraded to Club lounge and were greeted by Sally, who was friendly, polite and very professional. Making us feel welcome and certainly looked after, with a good selection of drinks and small.plate foods perfect.

the breakfast was exceptional and the rooms were lovely very roomy and the location was perfect, the parking was very handy too, we even joined the membership so we will continue to stay in these hotels, as you get to redeem points and have already booked Yas Island in Abu Dhabi for 10 night and can't wait.

There was nothing really that we didn't like, we were really pleased with our stay. I would have liked to stay another night as I never got to see the Pool or the gym.

Room was spacious and clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great, a very good selection! Location was good just outside the main city area but close enough to walk to the river.

There was some initial confusion regarding parking as the recommended car park was displaying a "full" sign but it seemed they were having some technical issues.

Unfortunately we were unable to enjoy the upgraded room free of charge on arrival as it hadn’t been cleaned when we went to the room. We did get two complimentary drinks and the room we had paid for was immaculately clean

The hotel is very nice, from the reception to the bar, restaurant and bedrooms. Everywhere is very clean and the staff are friendly.

The only thing I didn't like was the pillows. I personally found them uncomfortable, but everyone is different, so don't let this put you off going. This was my only problem with the hotel. We will definitely stay there again

Crown Plaza is a constant Extremely clean no shabby furnishings, quality white towels, not a trace of mould in the bathroom and I was absolutely delighted to see the young lady at breakfast professionally cleaning tables with a fresh ‘Bluey’ rather than swiping around a germ infested dirty cloth from the kitchen 10/10 thank you

We like is a separate sheet rather than just a quilt inside a sheet. Although very comfy it’s often too hot hot sleeping with a quilt
