Location and room
Hotel was good but we used the car park in hotel and during the night our car was broken into and items stolen.
The hotel car park cameras were not working I would not use that car park!
7.0 / 10.0
The location was fantastic, close to the station and right in the middle of everything.
The apartment was spacious and comfortable enough for what we needed it for.
The staff were really friendly and helpful.
The place was too warm even with the radiators off it was too hot, it made it difficult to sleep.
The sofa in the place is quite worn out you sink into it when you sit on it, it needs to be replaced.
The coffee machine was broken, we requested for it to be fixed and it wasn't. When I tried to make coffee it spit granules into the cup, I tried to run the hot water to rinse the machine but the water came out dirty and full of granules after several tries so I just made instant instead.
The bar on the window in one of the bedrooms was broken.
All small things but when you're selling this as more of a luxury stay, I'd expect things like this to be taken care of.

Nice room and bathroom . Building generally tidy and impressive
1 lift broken when we got there , 2 lifts broken on the morning when we left . We were in the Penthouse above the 5th floor .
Water for shower and bath luke warm even after running it for ten minutes , after reception staff advised us to .
Plates for breakfast cold although in a heater which was clearly not working .
A lot of the toilets on the ground floor were not working .

It was close to the train station and was good size. It was relatively clean.
There was a horrible smell from the minute you walked into reception. In the room the smell was so bad, particularly in the bedrooms through the night. It smelled like someone was cooking. The windows were broken and sounded like they were open, the noise from outside was so loud. The carpets were all stained and dirty. Our TV wasn’t working, the receptionist & manager tried to fix it but couldn’t and was meant to get maintenance but they never appeared. In the end we ended up checking out a day early. We checked out about 6pm and I received a phone call at 11.20am the next day to see when we would be checking out.

Great location, staff were friendly
I didn’t like that I had previously paid for the property through booking.com and they charged me again for the room and still haven’t been refunded. It has put me off staying with them again. It also happened to someone else.
Advice: check your bank before leaving this hotel 😡

Breakfast was OK. Dinner was good. Restaurant for dinner was very pleasant with music unobtrusive.
Breakfast choice was limited. There was no green tea available kn either morning. We had the West Penthouse. Bedrooms were pleasant but in one of the bedrooms there was not room to open the bathroom. door properly as it was so close to the bed. On first morning housekeeping did not make up one of the beds although they changed one set of towels unnecessarily.. It was nice to have sitting room but a few more bits of furniture would make it more pleasant eg a side lamp on table or standard lamp. A coat stand would be useful as would places to hang towels in the bathroom or a towel rail

Great help from the staff and from reception.
The room was dirty, but sheets and duvet was dirty and had stain and smell on it.
Not complimentary snacks. Paid £1.20 for twixt which a thought was complimentary.

Decor, location for our purposes, restaurant food for evening meal was amazing! Helpful staff, parking on site (pay extra)
Fresh berries at breakfast.
We stayed in two different rooms due to first night been booked through a voucher offer (not bookings.com) so we had a comparison.
Room one - fourth floor, city double, small but room enough, reasonably quiet as facing towards the station. Only negatives was bathroom layout and tv surround into the space walk way so caution needed at night!
Room two, fourth floor through bookings.com was Executive double. (Our other room wasn’t available)
This room was on the other side, facing roads and crossroads. Very noisy! (Older windows?)
Room very cold, two small radiators covered by heavy curtains. Very thin quilt! Not comfortable or cosy.
Bathroom fan stayed on all night!
Position of TV, on a wall to the left of the bed, not opposite.
Breakfast could be better- no options for cook to order. Coffee in keep warm jugs was terrible! over brewed, dark but bitter. We expected fresh or bean machine.
No seeds, or plain yogurt. Limited pastries.

Parking and hotel staff where not upto scratch parked in the hotel car park but staff failed to mention that parking and booking are done through a private company. I rang the hotel after my stay because parking was never mentioned and thought they would need details to which there response was “there are signs all over the car park” I said yes but shouldn’t you have thought to mention this as part of the checking in process. To which I was met by silence and a very feeble unauthentic apology. Disgusting the room was expensive enough before being made to pay a deposit which 48 hours later I have still not received despite leaving the room in an orderly tidy condition similar to being exactly as I found it. Then to be met with a parking fine because of poor communication from the staff and failure to mention something which should be standard procedure.

Location and outside astetics. Staff at reception very nice.
Was cold in room no temperature control in your room so dependant on hotels auto timers or temp level setting.
Lots of hot water but when on full was scolding hot pretty dangerous we think.
TV system needs updating.
Hairdryer had to clean before using need replacing.

We only stayed one night 🥺 We will definitely be back.

Although we had a standard room which was meant to be a double the bed was very small like a queen and very hard and uncomfortable. I’ve stayed here a few times and never had any problems before
The comfort of the bed
7.0 / 10.0
The hotel had parking out the back which was good but expensive. The room was nice and warm and the bed was very comfy. There was a television on the wall in front of the bed that had plenty of channels. There was no noise which was very good. The breakfast was really good and the all the hotel staff were polite and helpful. The hotel was well situated and it was only a 10 minute walk into the city centre
The bath was too small. I couldn't even kneel down in it and there was a problem with the plug which was letting the water out nearly as quick as if it was open. The water would disappear before you could get washed. I decided to shower but the bottom of the bath was too slippy and it could be dangerous. On saying this we did enjoy the hotel and I would go back again

Great location right in the city centre.
The building was a grand Victorian style hotel with nice architecture and quality feel.
Standard breakfast. Which could have been better just by having more attention to detail.
The room was cold and no instructions for the heating in the room. I eventually figured it out only when I was due to check out. Yes I should've called reception but just staying one night I didn't bother.

Proximity to the train station and places I wanted to visit. Good standard of hotel.
Train station facing rooms pick up the noise from outside which was significant but it was Christmas season so to be expected. Lots of music and a very early empty bottle collection.

Convenient for station. Was worried when I arrived that the local bars would be noisy until late but noise finished before I went to sleep. Staff friendly and welcoming

friendly staff. nice looking hotel
room was not the cleanest and a little dated. Hudsons restaurant smelt musky. My wife got offended by being told by a member of staff, she doesnt like Southerners. My wife put in a complaint.

Beautiful hotel, love how it was modern, but still had all the historical features. Great central location.
There was nothing i didn't like.

The location was perfect for coming off the train & shopping in the center of Newcastle, size of apartment was bigger than expected & it was very clean
The sofa in the living room was tired and in my opinion needed replaced, also the carpets needed replaced
7.0 / 10.0
Well located, traditional railway hotel with rather grand public spaces and well-priced.
Parking advertised on Booking.com at £10 per 24 hours but actually £20.25 - reception staff disinterested in the inaccuracy.
The buffet breakfast was luke warm - nice bacon but soggy hash browns and fiercely strong fikyer coffee.

It's a very grand hotel with excellent facilities and decor. All the team were very attentive and friendly. Ideal location if needing to be close to the station as well as the Quayside and city centre. Right next to a Metro station also adds to the location's convenience.
I liked it all.

The location couldn't have been better. Room was nice enough and clean. 1 of the staff members was very helpful
1st night was extremely noisy outside til very late. The milk tubs were out of date which we didn't notice until drinking tea that tasted awful. Bed was really small but comfortable
