Rude receptionist - won’t be staying with Hilton again

Property was great no issues. Receptionist manner however left us shocked

Staff manner: receptionist (L) was extremely arrogant, rude to a point I was speechless. When we checked in our receptionist was helpful and kind. Then I met this woman at checkout. I had never ever experienced such a manner in my entire life. I asked if there’s an option for late checkout She has abruptly told me that it’s subject to availability(obviously) I asked if she could find out- (loud sigh) went into a side office and enquired with housekeeping whether it’s possible or not. She came out after 2 seconds and informed that’s it’s not possible. All I said: Awh that’s disappointing. She then raised her voice and escalated the situation by saying: well I’m not gonna apologise for something I can’t provide… I was beyond shocked I asked what was her name: she had spelled it out loud enough that again it was clearly for a show She the proceeded with a fake forced smile and said: see ya soon.. byeee In my experience of yrs of travelling around the world, I have never ever come across an attitude like so from a staff member! Especially not from a receptionist. I was actually disgusted- decided to walk away from a situation as she’s clearly not fit for the position. I will not be returning to Hilton ever again as they clearly not capable to train their staff appropriately.

Very Good Weekend Accommodation

The family room was spacious and clean, with a view over the River Tyne. Newcastle City Centre is easily reached with a short walk over one of the river's bridges. The car park facility is conveniently placed underground and adjacent to the hotel. with secure access.

The breakfast provided a good variety of choice, although the cooked breakfast items were a little over-cooked for our taste.

Exceptionally clean, on entering the hotel had a lovely perfume aroma. The water feature was a nice touch in entering the hotel too.

It was very cold in the room, wake up with a bad nose problem . The ventilation to loud. It was a very bad sleep. I was selecting the room temperature to increase and nothing . I used before Hilton chain of hotels and it was all amazing but the experience from last night very bad . I repeat: the personal 10+

Pick this hotel over the rest. We’ve stayed in a good few of them. This hotel is a win.

The breakfast selection was the best we’ve had in a hotel in Newcastle. The staff in the restaurant in the morning are so nice and friendly. My husband and daughter went down to go swimming on the Sunday morning. We didn’t know it had to be booked. But the lovely lady working there let them in.

Fabulous, short notice booking when attending a local conference. The room was incredibly good value

The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was very tasty - I especially liked the heinz baked beans!

A larger pot of tea at breakfast or guidance on how to get a top up would have been exceptional - but this was very minor!

Pre New Year stay

Staff were helpful & friendly in the hotel. Room had a great view & close to the centre

Nothing but didn't use the pool as it was too full when we tried to enter. I don't know how long they allow people to stay in the pool we didn't have time to wait as we were going to an event.

Well located and very clean. Staff attentive. Like the executive lounge but nowhere to put used plates and food not re stocked. Breakfast was very good.

Could hear lots of outside noise, so much we checked for an open window (507). Quilt was very small and thin with a noisy cover on.

No water in room Reception very unhelpful refused to bring breakfast in bed / deliver room service until we asked someone else My phone got sent to the reception staff refused to bring it up No drinks at all in mini bar not even water (we stayed in a suite ide expect water as a minimum) No toiletries in bathroom just a cheap pump attached to the wall shampoo & shower gel. No hand soap Overall for a suite at the Hilton very disappointing service & the lack of a bottle of water is basic that I expect even In a premier inn room

Christmassy times at the Hilton

The ground floor bar, restaurant area was really nicely done. Staff were excellent. Stayed over in December and the hotel was very festive .

If you want a good location and great accommodation choose Hilton.

It was clean and well maintained, the staff were polite and friendly. One the first night our little lad was ill and the night concierge was amazing providing us with extra towels and cleaning sachets. We had breakfast room service which was good. Only a short 10 min walk in to the Center across the swing bridge.

The evening meal choices were quite poor and especially for kids all unhealthy choices really. The quality of the food was average I was not blown away by it which I was supposed for a the hotel brand. Also locating the car park was difficult as it appears the road system has been altered since our in car sat nav was updated. And I felt the car park over night charge was a little steep at £15 maybe £10 would be more reasonable but it is city Center so.

We enjoyed the breakfast (though my 7 year old was upset that she thought she could have pancakes and then was told they'd run out) and the swimming pool was good. We liked the view from our room and the room itself, including the shower.

The EV chargers advertised on your website as being available for guests in your car park were dreadful. We wasted a lot of time on the phone to the helpline trying to get them to work. We won't come back to this hotel because being able to charge our car is essential. The room was a bit hot without the air con on, but the air con was rather noisy to have on at night, so we didn't sleep very well. The view from the room was spoiled by the quite dirty windows.

bar and restaurant was nice

rooms are tired looking. our bathroom has more silicone hiding the cracks than tiles. no water in the room, had to use water from the sink. for a the price, you expect at least a couple of bottles of water. Parking was over priced, even though we were guests at the hotel.

Pillows for me are too soft but that's a personal opinion. Car park spaces as the majority of cars have got bigger over the years car park spaces have not got any bigger to accommodate the bigger cars, but this is the same for all hotels.
