Lovely hotel in great location

The restaurant is uninspiring and house music in the bar/restaurant out of place

Pleasant

The rooms are well decorated, housekeeping is well executed, and the amenities are of high quality. The location is also very good.

The staff, at best, is merely pleasant. The reception is not friendly and not particularly helpful. Housekeeping knocked on the door at 9 a.m. on a Saturday, which was quite shocking.

Beautiful hotel in great location with amenities!

Hotel is beautiful, really loved the different themes of each floor. Our room was supplied with beverages in our mini fridge AT NO COST, which never happens. I also really appreciated the luxury brand toiletries (Grown Alchemist) and the fact that actual American sized bed pillows and top sheets were supplied. Full length mirror was clutch, too! The lobby always was stocked with Lindt chocolates and fruit. Great location close to trains and the Xmas markets. We also enjoyed the aperativ hour at the hotel lobby bar.

being from the US, the hotel room size was very small. I undertsand this is a European thing.

A lovely hotel in a good location.

The room is not big but very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is great, very close to the train station, behind the opera house and on the lake.

Great location - nice hotel.

Location was great. Very nice small hotel.

The lift or the elevator was out of service. We booked a junior suite on the 6th floor. We ended up taking a nice room with no view on the 2nd floor as walking up and down six flights of stairs was too much. We arrived on Sunday - elevator was out of service since Saturday - was repaired on Monday - we left Tuesday. It was unfortunate as we were looking forward to the larger room with a view but the staff was very nice and accommodating and adjusted the price on the room on the lower floor. Breakfast was ok - same "continental breakfast each day" that was an upcharge for the room. Pastries good, quiche not good.

A lovely stay

Room is big and well designed, with a beautiful bathroom. Location is good, just few minutes away from the train station. Staff is friendly and professional. I asked a favor from the hotel to get me a bouquet of flower for my check-in and they did it professionally, a job well-done.

Wifi connection was challenging. First time in a long time that i am happy with the quality of a hotel in Europe. A true 4 star hotel. Wonderful! Also, the touch with the freebee minibar was a nice touch. Great and friendly staff!

Disappointing.

Very small room, very small bed, terrible mattress, uncomfortable pillows, very hot room (even with thermostat at minimum), noisy staff in courtyard, manual entry of credit card and taking webcam shots of passport for a webservice which makes me doubt this is secure and GDPR compliant. For the price we paid we had a lot better expectations. Not recommended.

Very nice hotel with an amazing location, especially of you are attending Opernhaus Zurich.

The room was well appointed with and very nice layout. They had also accommodated a request that had to allow us to maintain our room past the initial booking dates. The staff we very helpful, and the location and view were amazing.

There was some construction that was taking place, and while slightly inconvenient, they did provide us with information about it prior to our arrival.

Exactly what we were looking for

The room was a little small but suited our needs perfectly. Everything was extremely comfy! Calm relaxing decor with all of our needs met. A thoughtful welcome for us when we arrived.

Loved it all!

We reserved the suite with separate bedroom and living area. It was outstanding! From the decor to the carefully curated amenities to the large rooms and bathroom, it was one of the best experiences we've had in a while. We would recommend amend it for its location next to the opera, theater, tons of restaurants, cafes, shops and the lake front. We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was delightful, the coffee, breads, cheeses, cold cuts, lox and omelettes were delicious. The stuff were all very friendly, helpful and courteous.

Overall, it was a good stay — the property had potential and certain aspects were enjoyable.

Room was amazing, staff was amazing as well as the location.

We were quite disappointed with our stay. The room was advertised with a king-size bed, but in reality, it was two twin beds pushed together — making it very uncomfortable for a couple. Additionally, we had booked the stay via Booking.com under the impression that breakfast was included, but upon arrival, we were informed it wasn’t. These discrepancies significantly impacted our experience and did not match the expectations set during the booking process.

Bed was comfortable.

No hotel staff there to greet guests. Reception area TINY and had to walk into the bar and ask waiter if he could find someone to check us in. When you turn off lights in room it turned off air conditioning, so VERY warm in room. Could not figure out how to get air working without lights on. Loud street. Small rooms. Would not stay here again.

Won’t recommend the hotel to anyone

Very centrally located

The receptionist was rude and behaving as though she was doing us a favor.. she said room would be ready at 3 pm.. it was 30 degrees in Zurich, we returned at 3.. she said room has to be inspected still.. at 3.15 I asked her why not done yet, she said angrily that she making the keys ready.. just want to tell her she if she doesn’t like her job that’s her problem and not the customers ..she’s in the service industry, if she’s going to have so much attitude she isn’t going to last long!!

Lovely Historic Hotel

The staff was very helpful. Assisted in understanding how to use local transportation. Immediately fixed an electrical outlet issue in our room. The location is exellent, right off the lake. The rooms are small, but in historic hotels they are somewhat expected.

I enjoyed my stay in Ambassador Hotel

Excellent location. 3 mins walk to the opera house and lake. The staff is truly wonderful, with Isabella going above and beyond to be helpful and patient. Everyone at SILK is incredibly friendly and welcoming! The room well appointed, featuring a beautiful, practical, and thoughtfully designed layout. It's impressively new and spotlessly clean, with all features and switches meticulously crafted. I especially appreciate the automatic shutters outside the window – such a thoughtful touch. The air conditioning works exceptionally well; unlike what I experienced at my previous hotel, where I found the air conditioning lacking. The bed is super comfortable too!
