Dream stay in Zurich

Excellent location, literally a few steps away from the Opernhaus and the lake. Excellent staff, kind and willing to find solutions for all the personalized requests. Chic, tasty, fresh and diversified breakfast served in a cozy corner. Beautiful rooms, clean, quiet, comfortable, nice amenities. Excellent airport transfer facility: direct train, 16 min ride, the station is 500 m distance to the hotel. Simply perfect! The top choice when in Zürich, already set for the 4th return!

Wonderful stay at Opera Hotel in Zurich! The rooms are comfortable, clean, and stylish. The location is perfect, close to the opera and city center — great for opera lovers like me. A lovely, relaxing place to enjoy Zurich.

Poor quality of accommodation, not good value for money

The location is great

The staff seem like they dont want to be there, the facilities are poor and dated, even after moving to another room the second room was just as poor, shower was terrible , room temp either too cold or too hot, would be fine but the way the hotel is advertised doesn’t reflect the standard provided.

Good location right behind the opera house. Nice interior both of lobby and of room. Quiet. Clean.

Despite having upted for an upgrade of the room to "Classic Plus", there was nobedside table.

Great location, good breakfast

Great location just behind the Opera House. We stayed in the King room, the bed was comfortable and the room was a good size. Everything was clean. The breakfast was great too!

Of course price wise it is very expensive if you are not Swiss or from a similar country (income related), but otherwise we liked the hotel very much.

Location is excellent - for what you are paying - you expect a bit of extra !

The most valid point about this hotel is definitely the location, it is excellent. Breakfast is good - okay - but nothing special. The room was spacious and nice - but only because we had upgraded at an extra cost .

For a four-star hotel, which is not cheap, one should expect at least bathrobes!. Also once before going out, we put a sign - please clean our room - and returning around 16hrs.30 - the room was still a mess with no towels replaced etc.. When contacting the service, they said it's because we had do not disturb - but checking again before i complained - the sign was correct - please clean our room - hence they did not check it our properly.

Luxurious, comfortable, lakeside charm

We loved our stay here. Switzerland is not cheap so we chose a compact room, but it was so well designed we barely noticed that it was smaller than normal so this was really cost effective for us. Great linens, stunning bathroom in black/white tile. The lobby area and the staff were all wonderful, and the location is perfect - close to the lakefront for access to the bathing houses and bars, and also wonderful cafes and restaurants close by. They helped by lending us a plug adaptor, as this differs from the standard continental one!

Great location, nice staff, room, bed too small.

The location, staff and the room was clean.

The room was meant for a single person. Way too small for a couple. Unable to even get in and out of bed. Also, I’m short so getting in and out of shower was difficult. This is on me, I should have read the description better. The hallway from the elevator to our room really needed a good vacuuming. But the room was very clean.

Kettle in the room / the balcony / near a train station and grocery stores / near the lake and Old Town.

Room for improvement: There were two things that we didn't like that we realize are typically European, but at a nicer place like Hotel Opera, I would have expected to not see them. 1) The double bed was two twin beds pushed together so it creates a crack down the middle. 2) The shower had one of those ridiculous doors where it doesn't close down the whole length of the tub. In addition, there was a door where part of it turned in or out, but it didn't stay closed (and water got out). I suppose that nothing says "welcome to Europe" like a bottle cap at your nose, a crack down the middle of your "double" bed, or water all over the bathroom.

The staff was outstanding—always quick to respond and genuinely went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at ease :)

The elevators were a bit slow at times, but it didn’t take away from an otherwise great stay.

Very small room overlooking car park - one small bottle of water in fridge - asked to borrow a transformer plug and was told this would mean charge on card until returned. No proper shower.

Alex was amazing! He kindly let me stay an extra hour so I had more time to check out and get ready. The Spanish lady (I wish I remembered her name) was also incredibly sweet - she made me feel super comfortable after flying in from Copenhagen. Truly great staff!

Room was quiet at night so happy with that but otherwise overpriced.

The location was good. Bedroom was tiny and the bed was more of a large single. No bedside tables as they wouldn’t fit. No actual restaurant for breakfast just the lobby area so we skipped that.

Spacious and comfort stay

Location within walking distance to train station. Room is spacious with obstructed view. Free mini bar on cold beverage and also coffee capsule machine provided. The shower pressure is really good.

The lift is very small, can only accommodate 1 person at one time.

Excellent location- staff was super friendly and helpful! However, with it being a very comfortable stay I would say the property was at most a 3 star not a 4 star. But otherwise it’s a very good 3 star hotel in my opinion. Also their coffee is really good!
