Probably the best choice of “price for value” in Zurich city center

It was a great experience. The main and the most important aspect at every hotel is the staff. I pass on my best wishes to friendly, kind, supportive and caring staff at the hotel. The property itself is located comfortably being only few minutes away from the city centre by walk. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm. The rooms are very spacious especially if you compare it to the other possible options in Zurich. Probably the best choice of “price for value” in Zurich city centre. 5 out of 5. Great place.

Old-charm chic (with both the good and the bad of that meaning)

Pretty good location, very quiet, comfortable, lots of space. Staff was nice and helpful, but were limited in what they could do given the circumstances (see below)

Technology didn’t work smoothly or it was overly complicated in places where there are simpler solutions today (eg using a special super slow and buggy tablet to call the front desk instead of WhatsApp or a regular phone; a “regular” key apartment door that has a micro chip that intermittently works, meaning one can only sometimes lock/unlock the door, whereas a regular keycard system would have sufficed and also be able to provide multiple keycards to each guest). The lights in the apartment were old/outdated or not enough causing poorly lit rooms or difficulty reading. For a 5 star hotel I expect much more, especially that a 3 star hotel I stayed previously in had all these basic things figured out perfectly. Also, for a 5-star hotel I was expecting a swimming pool or a hot tub or sauna, or a well stocked bar but no such thing.

Very pleasant stay!

The room was spacious and comfortable. The people are extremely helpful and friendly particularly the staffs at the reception and the restaurant were superb. The staffs works as a good team and always paying attention to the needs of clients. I realized the nice advantage of staying in a small hotels.

Amazing hotel and staff. I would absolutely come back again with my family!

The hotel was just perfect. The room was extremely large, comfortable and luxurious. The hotel is well located and super charming with lots of candles. The staff were AMAZING! I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!

The elevator is tiny tiny but that’s not really something I didn’t like per se; more of a fun fact :)

Well the size of the room and most importantly what we look in a hotel is to sleep well and I had the best 2 nights of sleep since I arrived to Switzerland the rooms have a window with a view on the courtyard so no noise from outside neither inside room are very isolated and breakfeast is very good

The hotel website states that the hotel has parking. When we arrived at the hotel, it turned out that the hotel has a total of four parking spaces on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Although the staff promised that if there was no parking available (as indeed happened on the last day of our stay in Zurich) they would park the car themselves in a parking space in the hotel area. However, as someone who rents a car themselves, insurance only includes the rental driver. There is a serious problem here. In other words - no parking.

Executive-level accomodation in the perfect location.

My stay was brief but enough to adequately judge the property, it is a marvelous hotel. The suite was well appointed, the bed and pillows were absolutely divine; I felt at home. Staff were exceptional. Unbeatable location; very accessible to train and tram. I did not visit the restaurant due to alternative commitment but the menu looked delicious and I would not have hesitated to dine there.

I would not hesitate to book here again, it was a lovely stay.

Exquisite decor and furnishings throughout. Huge suite with plenty of hanging and storage space. Excellent location near the lake - a bit out of the main tourist areas, so quiet; but with trams at either end of the street which connected us with everything. Outstandingly attentive and welcoming staff.

Divine - a must stay in Zurich

Hotel Alden is a slice of luxury! It is a small hotel with 22 rooms. so you feel very welcomed and special. You are greeted by name, and they look after your needs such as what type of pillow you prefer. The rooms are divine - spacious, high ceilings and charming. The bed is very comfortable and the bed linen is very high quality.

This is my second stay in this hotel. I love the location. Close to the major shopping areas but in a quiet neighborhood. Staff are super friendly and the service level is high.

Friendly staff and spacious rooms

Really spacious rooms, gorgeous common areas, friendliest staff!

No air conditioning or fans. Extremely uncomfortable to sleep as you can’t open the windows because they have roller doors on them. It was 35 degrees and we called reception for a fan and they said they don’t have any. When paying over $1000 Australian per night, you expect to have a good sleep.

Deluxe, pampered treatment!

Wow! They upgraded our room to the penthouse/apartment! About 1,000 SF of deluxe accommodations! The staff was beyond incredible, so helpful in every way. So roomy, spacious, and deluxe!

It could have been a little cooler, but there was a heat wave, and they brought two portable units in, which made the sleeping area nice and cool.

Amazing Boutique Hotel in a wonderful location.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Small number of rooms and each room seemed different. We had two deluxe sweet rooms which both had a large full bathroom and half bath plus large bedrooms and separate living space. The staff was so accommodating and helpful and would go out of their way. Locations was excellent to walk to the lake or FiFA museum. Breakfast was wonderful and included in our booking. Would absolutely stay here again.

They do allow dogs and we had a couple of barking dogs, but that wasn’t for too long.

Zurich is a beautiful city, and staying at this hotel made our entire journey even more special.

We visited Zurich for the 2025 Women’s EURO and stayed at this hotel twice during our trip. The second stay was a last-minute decision, simply because our first experience here was so great that we knew we wanted to come back. Special thanks to Huth, Michal, Felix and Xiatlali. They were all incredibly warm, caring, friendly, and attentive, making us feel truly welcomed. The rooms are very comfortable and well-designed, especially the suite and the top-floor room with a balcony — both offered a relaxing and cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The hotel itself is not large, which adds to its charm and gives us a home feeling.

Great service but scruffy run down rooms

The service and the Sunday brunch were excellent, I would recommend to anyone. It was really very good and the staff were very helpful and friendly at every interaction.

The room was so run down and scruffy with scratches and gouges in the walls. The bathroom paint was peeling and all the corners of the furniture was peeling. The suite was a bizarre laid out apartment, rather than a suite. For 700 CHF it was daylight robbery for that quality and it makes me actually not trust booking. com in the future. The rooms and facilities are not that of a 5 star hotel.

Comfortable stay

We had a comfortable stay at this hotel. The location is great—just a short walk to a nearby park and supermarket, and it’s also conveniently close to a fuel station, which is helpful if you’re renting a car. The hotel offers private parking, though there is an additional charge for it. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A special highlight was that they kindly upgraded one of our suites, which was a lovely gesture and really made us happy. Overall, a pleasant experience!
