Disappointing.

The location was good.

It’s a Marriot, so we had high expectations. First there was a stain on the sheet, the shower door was cracked and broken, and it leaked. The window also seemed to be leaking water. When we asked the front desk for a new set of sheets, for some reason housekeeping removed all of our towels?! Even though they were hanging up (which means we will re use them). Also, the used plastic coffee pods for their nespresso machines…which left the coffee with a plastic tasting tinge. I guess the most disappointing part was how thin the walls were. We could hear people on either side of us as well as the people upstairs.

A good business hotel

I likied the location, room and staff. The bar staff were also excellent however the bar could be more intimate.

There is no service at breakfast so you have to keep getting up for drinks , food etc. At least offer teas , coffeees etc at the table.

everything is perfect! it was close to the Zurich HB around 5-7 mins walk. The buffet breakfast is amazing. the room is super clean and we had a lake view which was a plus. the M lounge was fantastic. servicr staff excellent!!

I rarely leave negative reviews — in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever written one before. But unfortunately, this time I have to. I’ve stayed in over 200 hotels around the world, and the Zurich Marriott Hotel ranks among the most disappointing. Despite the extremely high price, the hotel feels outdated, poorly maintained, and lacking in atmosphere. The interior looks like it hasn’t been refreshed since the 1990s, with tired rooms and uninspiring design. For a brand like Marriott, this level of neglect is surprising and honestly unacceptable. There are much better places to stay in Zurich — more modern, more welcoming, and definitely better value.

The Zurich Marriott Hotel was a disappointment. For the extremely high price, you’d expect modern comfort and style — instead, you get a dated interior that feels stuck in the 1990s. The rooms are tired, the design uninspired, and overall the place lacks warmth or charm. It’s hard to believe this is part of the Marriott brand, which seems to be falling behind the times. There are far better (and often cheaper) options in Zurich with much more character and quality.

The name Marriott which fools you.

Worst 5 star property I have ever stayed, the staffs are outright discourteous and it feels like they are doing you a favour by just letting you stay. No courtesy at check in or out. Not a single bottle of water or spoon in the room.

the hotel guide and breakfast staff were very warm and friendly.

The air conditioner is old and difficult to adjust; one pillow is too low, and two are too thick when stacked together; it seriously affects sleep. When booking the hotel, the website showed that the bathroom was a shower room, but it was actually a bathtub, and the bathtub drained very slowly, which was very inconvenient.

Very nice Marriot style service! I could repeat it!

Excellent service as always at Marriott hotels and I experimented a lot of 5star hotels. Marriott still is surprising me in terms of service and good and alert personal. Nice breakfast and nice restaurants, good sauna and enough equipped gym.

I have to be fair here, the new rooms are nice but a big downside from my point of view is that the windows cannot be opened not at all. I understand for big skyscrapers but here is not the case, the north wing is not a tall building. So if this is solved somehow it will be a big plus for the comfort.

North wing as a new clean addition

Reception didn’t clarify that there 2 separate parking differentiation between the old and the new building. Additionally didn’t check my request seriously and instead of placing me in the highest floor as per my request , they put me on the lowest floor with the worst view available while I have requested the best view with an early booking !!

Perfect location to walk to Old Town and explore Zurich

Breakfast was wonderful. It started at 6:30am which was great for us as we had a car coming at 7:15am. There was a vast buffet and eggs made to order.
