Central, friendly and so very clean!

This was a lovely central hotel. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was substantial. It is possibly one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in.

The room type on booking had different images to what we received.

Not the welcoming stay we expected

We stayed at the Glockenhof Hotel Zurich expecting a family-friendly and welcoming experience, especially as the hotel promotes special family rooms for children. Unfortunately, this was not the case. From the very beginning, there was no sense of hospitality:not even a simple smile or warm greeting, which should come naturally when hosting hotel guests on a holiday. The first impression was particularly disappointing. The bellboy who greeted us was extremely rude; we honestly felt relieved that we were not openly scolded. This set the tone for the rest of the stay. The bed was uncomfortable, with the bathroom being the only truly comfortable part of the room. Although the breakfast itself was good, it was almost impossible to enjoy due to the rude and unfriendly attitude of the staff. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I am sure there are much better places to stay in Zurich.

Updated hotel

We were allowed to check out early. The staff was very friendly and provided good recommendations.

The bathroom is see through and requires that you request a curtain. The kid beds are fold outs. The room is rather small after adding two fold outs.

Brilliant hotel for families. Very accommodating for changes required for our autistic son

From being picked up at the airport by the hotel’s taxi through to the quiet room, regular housekeeping and superb breakfast. We couldn’t of asked for a better hotel experience

We arrived at 9.31 in the evening and the kitchen had closed already. It was a shame they couldn’t accommodate for late guest arrivals and be open for dinner. We had to order ubereats.

Beautiful, quiet, and elegant hotel conveniently located near the old town with excellent breakfast.

Great location near the old town, and around an eight minute walk from the main rail station. It was lovely to be met at the door after dragging our luggage (including ski bag) from the station and have it whisked up to our rooms. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was superb. Little touches of luxury were in the rooms - we appreciated the coffee machine and beautiful bathroom with bath. The umbrellas provided came in useful with the rain. We loved our short stay in beautiful Zurich and the quiet luxury of this hotel was one of the highlights of our Europe trip. Wish we could have stayed longer!

There was some confusion over a request for a blanket as I find duvets too warm. I was sent another duvet one night, and a sheet the next. Minor issue overall.

Very good

Kids loved that they had smart TV with games such as angry bird! We loved that it’s next to St Annahor, 5 floor shopping mall with basement Coop and level 4 restaurant with affordable food and small indoor playground! It’s 5-10 mins from Zurich HB train station and in middle of the shopping street and walking distance to Lake Zurich (you can take tram too! 24 hr ticket is worth it as it covers tram, bus, train and even water taxi!) Also, the team were kind enough to allow us late check out at 2pm knowing that we had a late flight. Building exterior is lovely and there are 3 pin plug and usb ports so really useful for travellors! Breakfast was a small spread, but yummy (loved the muffins, chocolate cake and scrambled eggs!) Thank you Glockenhof!

Our room had transparent glass doors for bathtub, which was mentioned by other guests, not a big deal for us. The hotel is about 5-10 mins walk from Zurich HB train station, and 2 tram stops.
