The location

The room and bathroom needs an overhaul. The light in the room is not cosy. The rooftop is basically dead and the pool is not exactly inviting.

I think it was over priced for the accommodation.

Facility - Pool and upper terrace are nice and clean, with the exception of the recliner cushions. We really enjoyed the lap pool, spaciousness and greenery. It was generally quiet while we were there. The artwork was lovely to look at. Staff - were generally pleasant and accommodating.

Room - our room upon arrival smelled dirty and there was a huge cobweb above the bed (cobweb removed at our request). The pillows were hard as was the bed and the sheets looked like someone had stepped on them before making the bed. Without going into every detail, there was a general state of disrepair with respect to the room. Facility - Even though I asked every day, the water jug was not changed until our last day.

I will return and I have already recomended Hotel Siglo 17 to all my friends and coworkers.

Everything was beyond expectations. Location was central to all activities and restaurants. It was wonderful to sit in your placita with the beautiful plants. My friend and I slept really well in the comfortable beds. I took a dip in your rooftop pool. It was clean and had beautiful views.

The coffee was wonderful, but the breakfast breads could use a lot more freshness.

For the most part very enjoyable.

Incredible customer service from all staff. The an elevator, a cafe and a restaurant as part of the hotel. Location, 24 hr front desk, airport pickup with an English speaking driver. Assistance getting taxi's and rides to the airport and other locations. Available clean towels and housekeeping daily.

The shower leaked water if the shower head was aimed too high. Making the water to get passed the door and get the floor wet. The rooftop pool was dirty, no measurements to know how deep the water would be was available and the jacuzzi didn't work. The window shutters didn't close all the way. We had to use a hair tie to close it for privacy.

Good location, and kind staff, that’s it.

The way the hotel was sold on reviews, not at all, low quality hotel, the room they assigned us initially smelled, so we asked to change, and they were nice about it but still did not meet our expectations overall. Moldy ceilings and the gym wasn’t even working one day and they told me no one was present to check it out.

My stay was pleasant

The Staff were all very nice, and very helpful, I left my phone in the taxi on the way to hotel, the reception staff went above and beyond to help me retrieve my phone for the taxi firm. they serve breakfast, and the dinning area was in the court yard, it all looked very nice and presented well, although I did not sample what was on offer.

Its not a dislike more of a suggestion, I thought as they had such a lovely restaurant area, it maybe nice to include a breakfast with the room charge at a slightly higher price of course.

Wonderful stay for our first anniversary.

Great location near Zocalo. Nice, comfortable room and dark for sound sleeping. Mostly quiet, some roosters crowing in the morning, but seemed nice actually. Staff very friendly and patient with my broken Spanish.

Excellent quiet, clean relaxing hotel in superb location.

Location superb. Close to ‘centre’ but very quiet and calming hotel. Excellent place to relax. Didn’t have breakfast at hotel but lots of cafes, bars & restaurants nearby. Particularly recommend Boulenc 50 meters away. Fantastic breakfast & brunch place. It does get busy but opens at 8.30 am when 1st come 1st served! Didn’t try pool nor did we feel inclined to. Did not look inviting

Rooms are beet small. We struggled to find adequate space for our two suitcases. Water pressure in shower is low.

Hotel Siglo 17 is an Excellent Choice

We loved the location of the hotel it's walkable to everything but not in a big square that could be noisy at night. The staff are well trained, extremely attentive under the stewardship of Adriana Diaz, the hotel manager who is personable, professional and cares for both the hotel and the guests who stay. She has a well trained staff and housekeeping does their jobs well. We had breakfast in the courtyard of the hotel and enjoyed the eggs, the coffee and the best refried beans I've ever had. I don't know what herb is used but they were delicious. Those women can cook! The rooms are comfortable and the bed and pillows especially. And at night, very quiet. We slept well. There is a very nice roof deck which is a bit underutilized. The pool is clean and the area kept neat. There are lounge chairs if you want to relax and read.

The reception area is the first thing a guest sees and it is drab. Could use a sprucing up but nice inside the hotel, the main courtyard where the rooms are is beautiful and so clean. The rooms could be updated.

Great Location in a Beautiful City

Location near the city center was great. Hotel was beautiful and enjoyed the rooftop. Room was well appointed for the price.

In the upper room I was staying in (24) had the thinnest walls of any hotel room I have stayed in. Two of the three nights I was there this was no problem, but on one of the nights a particularly hedonistic couple was nextdoor and it was an experience.

The location was central, but noisy

The room had a shared door with the neighbour and windows that opened directly onto courtyard. Other guests being up late ruined the experience. This is a shame as the hotel is beautiful from the outside, but isn't comfortable. The shower flooded, and our feet were in water up to our ankles. The lighting in the room is too bright.

Perfect location and exceptional staff

Location was perfect and it was really quite despite being so central. Staff was exceptional, Nadia helped me with some visa paperwork and all the staff was super professional and friendly.

I paid approx 200 euros a night which was a lot for what it was, considering you can get a decent b&b for a this of the price, but I also appreciate it was a busy time of the year

A lovely traditional Oaxacan hotel, a haven in the centre of town, with excellent service.

It was a lovely little haven in the centre of Oaxaca. The staff were kind, attentive and helpful, and went above and beyond. Its location was superb. The rooftop very quiet and relaxing, as was the central garden.

The windows open out into the central atrium which isn’t ideal for privacy when you want sunlight in, but is a nice view.

Central location stunning, easy walk to the main square, restaurants. Courtyard area is delightful. The hummingbirds in the trees are captivating. The character of the property is great.

The rooms are very dark, only small window into the courtyard. There are no amenities in the room and the tiny hairdryer was broken. Issues with toilet getting clogged, but hotel staff was helpful to fix quickly.

Great location with an authentic Mexican Hacienda style hotel.

Great location, very quiet hotel in the middle of everything. Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy access and very walkable to everywhere. Nice rooftop terrace for chilling out on.

The room and bathroom were a bit stuffy. It would have been helpful if the cafe opened earlier for morning tea or coffee.

The environment was beautiful. Gorgeous rooms and tranquil, well cared for garden. Staff was kind and helpful. They gave us great recommendations and answered all of our random questions about the area. The food and coffee were great.

Great location for Oaxacan city family getaway

Location was perfect. Accommodations charming/beautiful and as advertised. All the staff were super helpful before & during arrival to make the most of our stay. In particular the office manager, Adriana was helpful with booking a private tour for hierve el agua and taxi to airport. Breakfast at the facility was delicious. We hope to return!

Peaceful and convenient location

Beautiful and a very peaceful, serene location. I would visit this place again! It has a courtyard where I sat quite a few times during my stay. I could hear the birds chirping even in the middle of the day. At the same time, the location was within walking distance to all the places in centro. The room was clean and spacious enough for me. There was a closet, a lockbox, a desk and chair and the thing to dry my clothes on. The staff was very helpful. Open to questions and assisted me throughout my stay. I suggest taking a cab/collectivo from the airport itself to the hotel (there's a counter at the airport). However, the taxi ride back to airport can be booked through the hotel. They called me one, it arrived in less than 5 mins, convenient and pretty much the same price as hailing one down on the street. I made the payment directly to the taxi driver.

The AC made a bit of a noise whenever it was on. I suggest carrying your own toiletries. they provided shampoo and conditioner but they didn't look appealing so I just used my own.

Comfortable, secure, beautiful.

The location was great. We were able to walk to most locations, lots of shopping, cafes, restaurants very close by. The staff was incredibly helpful every step of the way and helped us book taxis for any excursions out of the city.
