So beautifully and artfully curated design and the central location was key for us. The terrace upstairs was one of the most beautiful and peaceful I’ve ever seen!
The walls were thin and that didn’t bother us but I could see it being annoying if you wanted more privacy or noise reduction

Beautiful interiors, friendly staff and perfect location. Rooftop was a bonus
It was all great

Absolutely beautiful B&B linked to the best bakery in town! Plus an exceptional cocktail bar ticked out the back. Stunning roof terrace with panoramic views. Loveliest staff, always happy to help and always friendly and welcoming. The food and mezcal are DELICIOUS and there's always something to nibble on, plus an honesty bar. The bed was super comfy and the balcony was a lovely bonus for people watching. Everything in town was easily walkable and there are some ace bars nearby. We loved our stay and will rave about it for a long time! Thank you!
The bar next door does blast music until 3am, the ear plugs provided work but it's a bit annoying. Trucks also thunder down the road outside the front, so if you're very sensitive to noise it may be an issue. The shower doesn't get super warm. These things really didn't taint our overall experience though, we would go back in a heartbeat.

Lovely space in the centre of Oaxaca, great location to explore the city, beautiful space and kind and attentive staff. Amazing terrace on the roof
The room was a bit small but it’s due to the nature of the buildings in the area

If I could give Boulenc more than a 10/10, I absolutely would. From the location to the staff to the room to the hospitality -- it was all top notch. If you're looking for a place that's quite literally smack in the middle of Oaxaca, you needn't look further, Boulenc is your home away from home. The terrace is a perfect place to both start your day with breakfast and end it with a sip of mezcal -- hopefully from Knock Knock, an amazing purveyor of quality spirits with which Boulenc partners. The bread and pastry offerings throughout the day are dangerous, but don't be afraid to take as much as you'd like. And the honesty bar provides both alcohol and non-alcohol options for whatever your heart desires. Want a meal but don't want to go far? Hit up their restaurant next door. Want some market foods or a souvenir to take home? Their shop is also next door. Want a latte? Pop down a few doors to their cafe. They have everything you need and want. Add that to the fact that you can literally walk anywhere in the city center and beyond from Boulenc, and it's just perfect. You'd be hard pressed to ask me to stay anywhere else next time I'm in Oaxaca.
It's not Boulenc's fault, but some of the surrounding businesses definitely pump the bass until late in the night / early morning. Boulenc knows this, though, because they provide you with earplugs just in case you need them!

The hotel is architecturally stunning, the room we stayed in was well appointed, and the breakfast was delicious. We especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved our time at Boulenc Bed & Bread!
Our room faced the street, which meant we had a lovely balcony, but also that it was a little noisy. The hotel provides earplugs though and we could sleep just fine.

It was comfortable in a great location, with easy access.
I liked the property just confused and feel like pictures and description of room was misleading, my room had a balcony but not a patio as listed in the description.

The staff really made this stay. Paul in particular was wonderful and incredibly helpful. He offered great suggestions, including encouraging me to do a full day tour that turned out to be fantastic. For the day tour, he even sent me off with snacks, which was a very nice touch. He was also a big help with local recommendations and he and the other staff helped me ship a package home when flight weight limits made that necessary. It felt personal and welcoming, not transactional.
The building itself is quite striking inside. It is more modern, but the space is softened by color, lots of plants, dim lighting, and flowers in the room, which made it feel warm and inviting rather than stark. The rooftop is beautiful, with great views of the city and mountains and even more greenery. It was a really lovely place to spend time and eat breakfast.
The location in El Centro is ideal and made it easy to walk everywhere. Breakfast was great with fresh pastries from Boulenc, fruit, coffee, eggs, and a nice selection of meats and cheeses. There was also a small late night nibble bar and an honor system bar, which was great after long days out.
There is also a nice shop next door that sells some of the same items as Boulenc, along with ceramics and other food related items that are good for gift giving, which was very convenient. Boulenc itself is just a couple of doors down, and while the service there was uneven, the food was delicious and the proximity was hard to beat.
My Spanish is limited, and that was not a problem at the hotel, the shop, or at Boulenc. I did my best to speak Spanish, pero mi Español es muy malo. Several people spoke English or enough English to communicate easily, which made everything feel comfortable.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would absolutely go back again.
You should know that there is a nearby club that goes late into the night, and the cement construction means sound travels easily between floors. It did not bother me, as I live in a loud city. For anyone who might be sensitive to noise, earplugs are provided in the room.
One practical downside for me was laundry. I was traveling for a longer stretch and had packed light, and the sink in my room was quite shallow, so washing clothes in the sink was not really possible. The hotel does not offer in house laundry service, but they will help arrange laundry, or you can easily do it yourself a couple of blocks away.

Boulenc Bed and Bread was a perfect home base to explore Oaxaca. We stayed for four nights and it was incredible. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The whole building is beautiful and charming. The upstairs terrace was a great place to relax and take in the beauty of the city. It was also easy to walk to many attractions from here. And don't get me started on the breakfast. The fresh pastries were to die for. You can tell the staff take great care into their work :)

Location, breakfast
Very noisy, small bed, they ask for $100 deposit on arrival and then take 5 day to give it back

Great location and staff went over and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They helped facilitate laundry service and airport pickup, and the food and beverages available were incredible
Only issue was due to the location in centro there was street noise at night going until quite late (4am) on the weekend. The windows certainly helped dampen the noise but still was awaken occasionally

Very very noisy at night, club and restaurant with loud music just next to the room. You could feel the vibration 🥲

Not much a little noisy but we have a white noise machine so didn’t make a difference to us

Beautiful property with well sized rooms and a gorgeous terrace. We were greeted with welcome cocktails and were served tapas every afternoon. Such a lovely touch! There was fruit water, coffee, a variety of teas, fresh fruit and pastries from Boulenc Bakery that you could help yourself to. The staff were very attentive and lovely.

We truly loved Boulenc!!! The location was fantastic, right in the city center and felt very safe due to access door codes. We stayed in king room No. 2 with balcony facing the street and once the doors were locked it was quiet and no problem to rest/sleep.
The room is very artsy and decorative and we loved the complimentary local goodies incl mezcal taster and home made sweets. Plenty of space and storage options and a functional bathroom.
The rooftop terrace is spacious and offers beautiful views of the city and mountain range.
But the best part, besides the super sweet and helpful staff, was the breakfast and tapas in the afternoon. Homemade bread and sweets, local cheese and meats, fruits, fresh coffee. This was THE BEST breakfast I feel like I‘ve ever had + you could also order fresh eggs of your choice for free.
Nothing, we loved everything! For some it may be important to know that there is no TV or fridge in the room though (you can store your items im the shared fridge in the lobby).

A very cool hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We loved the layout and the design. As soon as you walk in it feels very special. We had a larger room with a lounge area and balcony, which were all stunning. Breakfast was very relaxed and everything was delicious. We also appreciated the free snacks that were available and we loved having access to the cafe/bakery and shop. And then an incredible view from the roof terrace as well. Just amazing!
We loved everything. Except to say that if you're concerned about noise then maybe the rooms with balconies won't be for you. There are several bars in the street and the music is very loud until late. But the hotel have obviously considered this and provide earplugs in the room. We don't mind noise and we slept very well.

Staff were wonderful. Bed was comfortable, and the room and the entire property was aesthetically pleasing. The kitchen was great - the coffee, pastries and fruit were very good!
The location was perfect! Walking distance to everything we needed
It was slightly noisy being but nothing too concerning - we still slept through it.

The hotel is very central to tourist sites.
All the staff were pleasant and spoke great English, making it easy to communicate. Some of the staff - especially Paul - were very helpful and kind.
Pastries from the bakery were great. As were eggs from the restaurant.
The air conditioner was awesome and much needed.
Our room had a nice amount of space.
Loved the view from the terrace and the breeze.
The hotel is on a very busy, loud street. On Saturday night, you could hear the nearby club and people were yelling until all hours. You definitely will need the ear plugs provided.
The hotel hasn’t quite figured out how to be a hotel yet. Reception isn’t staffed full time. Even when staff are supposed to be working I often couldn’t find anyone. And when checking out, no one volunteered to help with my luggage even though I was clearly struggling to bring it down stairs.
We had a room facing the street. The shower had a window with a bamboo curtain that did not provide much privacy.
Breakfast was good but I didn’t love having to carry it up two flights of stairs to the terrace.

The design is very nice, and do is the terrace and the barra de café and breakfast
Around 6am we were woken up by loud noises in the kitchen and it was impossible to go back to sleep because of the noises. They need to sort that out

Solid 9/10 for this property with 10/10 potential. Given that they only just opened, they are doing an amazing job. The staff is simply amazing and have a real hospitality mindset. They will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. The rooms and building itself is stunning as well.
Some facilities could be ironed out a bit such as the jacuzzi in our room but this will definitely be resolved with time. Nonetheless amazing stay.

When the room I got was too noisy and street facing, they immediately upgraded me to a quieter room. Beautiful aesthetics and breakfast was filling with essentials - fruits and good bread. Staff were exceptionally helpful and so kind. Very close to everything in old town. Safe for solo women travelers.
Nothing.

Breakfast could start a bit earlier. Lots of building work taking place throughout our stay - even at 8am on Sunday morning!

From arriving to leaving, and everything inbetween, our stay was made very welcomed by all staff involved. Everyone was extremely helpful and our room itself was generously sized and had plenty of amenities. Would certainly recommend.
That we didn't stay longer!

I initially made my reservation at Boulenc B&B, but the staff graciously upgraded my stay to the new Becino hotel. Becino was one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying at, and the service was impeccable. There were artisanal mezcal and chocolates waiting for us on arrival. Our stay also included complementary breakfast, which was DIVINE. Becino goes above and beyond to ensure a luxury experience for its guests. The location is also perfect as you can easily walk to any key spots in Oaxaca.
The only downside is that the streets can be a bit loud at night. Becino had already taken this into account and provided new earplugs each day. There were some construction noises, but I wasn't sure if they were coming from Becino or a neighboring building.

We stayed at new hotel across the street. It was beautifully designed, most comfortable bed ever, great shower, kind and attentive staff, great food, best bakery goods, not noisy.
We wished for more clear definitive signage on the outside of the building ..a painted number or symbol.

I loved everything about these properties. I stayed across the street at their new hotel and got to come over to Boulenc as I wished. Highly recommend. Young, knowledgeable staff, gorgeous property, stunning decor, dosing elements were well considered. I would definitely stay here again. Incredible location.

Loved everything about it!
Starting with its serenity in looks and environment (despite busy roads outside)
Breakfast was amazing!!
People were great!!
Amazing rooftop to chill, have a drink, with a great view of the city.
Noisy on Friday/weekend on our room specifically as window shared with a restaurant/bar next door but they provide earplugs.

Absolutely everything was perfect. Beautiful hotel and rooms, amazing design, confortable and you can feel the Oaxacan style through every detail. Staff were extremely nice and accomodating. Can't wait to come back and stay here again!

The location is super central, everything is walkable. The design is like on the photos, with a lot of love for details, we felt at home from the first moment. Our room was cozy and equipped with everything we needed. The rooftop terrace is a huge plus, with a great view, we enjoyed our breakfasts there a lot! The breakfast they provide is really delicious, with fresh bread and fruits and even fresh eggs you can order for free. Also, the Wifi worked very well.
By far the biggest plus is the staff which was beyond helpful and welcoming. The manager Paul went out of his way to organize last minute bustickets without hesitation and even raced through the city to fetch us the tickets after calling many different transportation services! This saved our trip, the service felt like in a high end luxury hotel!
The only reason I cannot give 10/10 is that the very central location comes at the price of some noise in the night, especially on the weekend. The hotel provides earplugs.
If you're a light sleeper, this might bother you, if not, I can wholeheartedly recommend this place!
