Massive room yet only a double bed has been fitted. You should really upgrade it to a king size bed especially for the price.

Sea view rooms make you feel like you're on a cruise ship!

Lovely hotel - great location and sea view rooms are good size and well designed. The hotel is very new so everything is spotlessly clean.

Welcoming and helpful staff.

We stayed here on 4th Jan after a family bereavement and only booked 15mins before our arrival. We arrived after 11pm and were welcomed by the only staff member present - we were also the only guests in the whole hotel. Our room was clean and very new with a good sea view. The young man on duty was so kind, offering to help get a takeaway if we hadn't eaten and offered extra tea/coffee and milk. It was a perfect stay in such difficult times - thank you for being one of the only local hotels with availability and being open as others were closed due to being empty.

Great Place to Relax

It’s got great views of the sea as your right at it, accessible entry in and a lift up to the floors. It’s nice and quiet so great to relax at.

The accessible shower seat on the wall faces sideways to the shower and the available shower items are behind you and hard to reach when sitting. There is no shower curtain so the water goes all over the bathroom area and tends to stay for hours around the toilet.

The reception staff need to be more clearer about the car parking instructions as I got a ticket for parking in a car park space that I was told was the spot.

Excellent stay only issue was no mirror above the desk so had to sit on floor in corner of room to do make up and hair which was such a shame when there was a lovely dressing table. Also breakfast between 7-9 is so early on a Sunday morning but thats just my opinion, the views were amazing of the sea and the decor in the room is beautiful and all the staff were very friendly and polite would definitely stay again.

Nice, but with some teething problems

The rooms themselves are very nice - all brand new and well decorated and the sea view is stunning. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and lighting in particular was well thought through. From that perspective alone, I will certainly stay again. The cafe downstairs is cute, although the food selection is a bit limited for a longer stay. Overall, most of the staff were friendly and tried to help with a couple of issues I encountered over the week.

The rooms could do with a fridge and in my room the aircondition was broken (I think) and rattling so loudly every night that it was difficult to sleep. I made the staff aware on multiple occassions over my stay - one night two different people came into my room to serach for a panel, which wasn't there and felt quite intrusive - but nothing changed, so I left pretty poorly rested. I also had some issues with invoicing (I had to pay for a colleagues room and the lady on reception hadn't had the appropriate training for me to do that and then I was accidentally checked out two days early). It feels like the team are still getting the hang on a relatively new place and for the standard of the hotel itself I would expect a bit more of a customer service mindset to be demonstrated.

A clean, modern, well appointed and friendly hotel in a great location at an affordable price

A spotlessly clean, modern and well appointed hotel at an affordable price. Great location on the harbour side with coastal path and historic landmarks on the hillside behind. Our room offered a lovely view out to sea across Whitehaven harbour. The quirky design of the hotel (based on an peculiarly shaped lump of sandstone) makes it a landmark in itself. The staff were lovely, helping to make our stay enjoyable as well as memorable.
