The Highfield - Self Check-in Hotel

Stunning main level area with beautiful clean furniture, sitting rooms with views out towards the mountains and greenery. A short pretty walk into town thru an artfully decorated underpass. Stayed in room 8 on the third floor, there was a comfy a single bed, two pillows and en-suite bath with heated towel rack, and view north.

No complaints. Many of the bathrooms in England seem to have very tiny sinks, the depth is very narrow, this one did as well, so when you brush your teeth you have to make sure you don’t hit your forehead on the shelf right above it. This has been noted across many places in England so not a strike against them. Perhaps the architects/designers working in England may try using it themselves before suggesting the shallow sink.

Great location, beautifully decorated and lovely downstairs spaces

The front door needs a large push or shove label as I couldn’t get in and had to go around the back. Room number 8 could do with a small stool, a soap tray wall mount in shower and consideration of glass shelf being moved to the side… you can’t wash your face without getting water all over shelf or floor.

The location is excellent for the lake and the town. View from the front of the building is stunning.

We had a room at the rear of the building with no view, would pay extra another time for the view.

Car park very handy. Self check in was very convenient, room was very nice and comfortable. View was probably the best we have had in Keswick.

Maybe a couple of drawers in the would have helped. We stayed 3 nights and lived out of our cases other than what we could put on hangers. We managed ok and still very satisfied with the room.
