If I could give more than ten points, I would!

I can wholeheartedly recommend Lorraine and Simon’s accommodation. The B&B has a wonderfully warm and homely atmosphere. Everything is very clean, cosy and tastefully decorated. My bed was incredibly comfortable and I was pleasantly surprised to find a sink in my room, even though I had a (wonderful) private external bathroom. The breakfast was one of the very best I’ve ever had in a B&B as a gluten-free vegetarian. Unfortunately, I spent most of my stay in bed with a fever, but Lorraine and Simon were extremely kind and caring — they even left a small breakfast and freshly made ginger tea outside my door. Communication before and during my stay was excellent. Guests are kindly asked to observe certain quiet hours, which I found very relaxing. There was also a lovely atmosphere in the breakfast room with the other guests. I heard how warmly and affectionately Lorraine interacted with the local children on Halloween, which I thought was really lovely too. If I ever visit the Lake District again, I know exactly where I’ll stay! Thank you so much for everything!

The perfect escape from busy life!

The property is so lovely and cosy. You feel right at home as soon as you arrive. The bedrooms are always so warm and comfortable and the breakfasts are amazing!! Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Wonderful Stay

Lorraine was the perfect host, from arrival to departure. We stayed in room 8 which was cozy but all we hoped for during our stay. Beautifully decorated, lots of hot water with beautiful toiletries. The breakfast was lip smacking! Central location perfect to explore shops, restaurants and pubs. We were able to park on road without any problems. Will definitely return and recommend.

I've stayed in half a dozen places in Keswick over the years, and this one is by far my favorite. Lovely hosts, the single room was spacious with great facilities with a massive private bathroom, the breakfast had great choices (Porridge with whiskey butter!), the ventilation is the best of any place I've stayed in in Keswick so far. Will be staying here again.

Overall everything was great. The only thing that might have been a little off was the bed mattress is a little firmer than I expected, but honestly this is no dealbreaker. I was very comfortable overall, this was more a personal preference for me!

Excellent place to stay in Keswick, both for its location and comfort

We were very pleased with our stay at Dorchester House and hope to return in the future. Location is central and very convenient. And we were always able to find car parking nearby. Our room was cosy, but we were very comfortable and had all we needed. The bathroom was small, but the shower was very good. Everything was super clean throughout and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was excellent, and our small requests were fulfilled. The hosts were just brilliant and made us want to come back.

We did not have any dislikes. As I said, our room was small, so may be less convenient if guests have lots of luggage and plan a longer stay. We were there for 3 nights.

We loved everything. The location, easy walk into the shops. The room (#8) up the top at the back with view of the fells out both sides. The room was very comfortable, it’s small but everything you need, comfy bed, comfy pillows, lovely towels, kettle with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and after Lorraine noted our request for decaf at breakfast, she supplied us with decaf in our room without us asking, which I thought showed such attentiveness to her guests. Delicious cake on arrival. The breakfasts were also delicious. I tried something different every day and loved it all. But a special mention of the porridge which is probably the best I’ve ever eaten. The hosts - absolutely lovely.

Very easy walking distance to town centre.

The accommodation was very well placed for walking into town and for eating out each evening. My single room was on the first floor and was very warm and comfortable. The window faced the street, but it was extremely quiet, with no nighttime traffic noise. Lorraine was very friendly, remembered my name and served up a filling, tasty breakfast.

The only drawback, not just for me, but also for guests in the neighbouring rooms, was that my bathroom was along the corridor and I was afraid of disturbing them during my nighttime visits. However, the bathroom was very spacious with a large shower cubicle and a nice hot powerful shower. There was a good sized wardrobe, so the bathroom doubled as a dressing room too. Lorraine messaged me before my arrival to say it was a separate bathroom and not en suite.

Friendly, comfortable, relaxing break

I've recently returned from a fantastic 4 night stay at The Dorchester, both Lorraine & Simon were friendly and welcoming hosts. The guest house was immaculate and located in a quiet street only a very short walk into Keswick town centre. I'm looking forward to returning and staying there again.

Brilliant comfortable stay in a great location with a fantastic breakfast and super hosts.

The property is super close to the town centre, the room was immaculate and comfy for us both. They even went above and beyond with the little makeup remover kits which included a face cloth, cotton pads and cotton buds. Just this little things you often forget to bring with you. The breakfast choices were great and having tried both the full English and overnight oats, I’m not sure which was better! It was great having fresh fruit as a help yourself option as well. Lorraine was super friendly and kind. She made sure to check with us if we needed any extra top ups for the drinks in our room and even left us some lovely cake one of the days we stayed. Thank you

Perfect for a little break

The location of the property is perfect for those wanting to be in the heart of Keswick. The rooms are a decent size and really clean. The staff were so welcoming and even though we were late arrivals ensure checkin was quick. The breakfasts were phenomenal local produce and so tasty.

Wonderful stay with great hosts for our family trip

Wonderful hosts with everything you could need in the rooms. Extra touches like heated towel racks, hot chocolate mix for kids, washcloths and phone chargers. Great breakfast options and in the centre of Keswick so easy to walk everywhere. Had a lovely stay and would come back !

By far the best stay in Keswick

It is by far the best B&B I have stayed in at Keswick very friendly owners . The room was on the first floor didn't need to climb to top of the house . Spotlessly clean . Breakfast was to die for . Had an Excellent three days . Will be going there again excellent .

Quiet, cozy rooms with nice views and showers. Lorraine’s friendly service, hiking tips, and shop recommendations. Breakfasts were superb, from overnight oats with berry compote to whiskey butter porridge to Simon’s outstanding Full English breakfast. British house with so much charme

I had the single room with the private bathroom across the floor and this one felt like my own private spa! When you enter, you have this spacious, very nice-smelling room which is so nicely warm....loved it! But also the sleeping room itself with the love to detail (cute sheep pillow, information, a funny Survival Guide for the Lake District to read, tea & coffee facility) had everything I needed. Not to forget Lorraine and Simon, who deliver a wonderful breakfast (I recommend the fresh fruit salad and porridge with hot apples and cinnamon) and who told me which hiking tour was best to enjoy both the views and the lake. It was exactly what I had been looking for. Thanks a lot for everything!
