Excellent stay, highly recommend.

Friendly hosts, made us feel very welcome. Really comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Superb location for walking into/around Keswick. Called to offer early check in as our room was ready.

Parking, a bit of a walk from where we found a free, on street parking spot, but this will be an issue anywhere in Keswick, so no fault of Goodwin House.

Liz and Chris were very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We liked the fact you had access to fresh milk 24/7. And the homemade cake was delicious!

We enjoyed our stay very much and would be happy to do it all again.

Very good location, just a short walk into the centre of Keswick, and you can walk to Cat Bells and other fells from here. Our room (6, on the top floor) was very well equipped, and a very comfortable bed and great views of mountains from both windows. Breakfast offered almost every conceivable choice and was excellent, and it was very useful to have a list of local eateries which Liz and Chris enjoy (especially the Dog & Gun). They were friendly and helpful and we would certainly be happy to stay again. Parking is on the street, so no reserved spaces, but spaces became available in roads close by.

Maybe it was because our room has two outside walls and insulating these lovely old buildings is difficult, but when the heating was turned off in the evening we felt the temperature in the room start to fall almost immediately. An additional small heater in this room would be useful.

Nice long weekend break at Goodwin House

Excellent location just on Southey street, so 2 mins from the centre. Lovely old building and immaculately clean. Friendly and chatty hosts, no rule book thrown at you. Nice comfy room with a decent bed, facilites, and views of Skiddaw. Breakfast was A1. Would definitely come again

Only thing to be aware of is parking is on street but this is the same for pretty much all the b&bs in the local area.

Fabulous trip beautiful B & B with great hosts and super comfortable beds and fabulously clean

Fabulous location super clean lovely hosts who were very knowledgeable about the area. We were made very welcome from the minute we arrived. Breakfast was great too with quality products and great presentation. I would definitely stay there again however in a different room.

We felt that although the room was spotless and the beds were super comfortable the room and bathroom were a little small. As I was with my sister it didn't spoil our stay at all but wouldn't stay in that room again - it was a twin and the only twin they have so we didn't have any choice but to stay in this room.

Stay made great by great hosts.

Lovely house with real attention to detail, scrupulously clean and comfortable and excellent breakfasts. But what makes this a stand-out place to stay are the Hosts, Liz & Chris. Most places are pleasant but you sort of know you are no more than a means to a living - Liz & Chris treat you like a real person. Their judgement is excellent on all those moment by moment responses - like where to be drawn in to a conversational opening and where to pull back to give privacy. They name each guest from the beginning and their care and interest is genuine. They unfussily go the extra mile. I will certainly be back when I need accommodation in Keswick.

Scratched around for something to say here in case anyone thinks I’m a blind groupy (I could become an unblind one given time) and all I could come up was …. it would be useful to have a box of tissues in the rooms.

Liz and Chris were excellent hosts,very friendly and welcoming. Liz went out of her way to make sure that my lovely cooked breakfast was cooked separately to ensure no cross contamination, as someone with coeliac this was very much appreciated. The room was very cosy, comfortable and exceptionally clean.

From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The breakfast was excellent - the poached eggs were cooked to perfection, beautiful condiments on offer and well presented, and the service was 1st class.

Perfect stay in Keswick

A thoroughly enjoyable stay at this beautiful, well situated guesthouse. Chris and Liz were great hosts friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous - a real plus! There was a great choice, and everything was cooked to perfection. Goodwin House is 5 minutes walk from the centre of keswick but the road itself is so quiet - perfect!

The single room is on the small size but it has everything you need including a comfy chair and TV. A full length mirror would be useful.

A hidden central gem with great hosts.

A great location and the warmest of welcomes, can’t fault Goodwin House. Liz & Chris were wonderful hosts , rooms were spotless and really comfortable, plenty parking nearby and a 2 minute walk into the centre- will definitely be going back- a real gem👌

Delightful Stay, Fantastic Location, Tasty Breakfast

The host was very accommodating and friendly. The location was perfect for walking into Keswick town and visiting neighbouring villages. The breakfast was very tasty and lovely coffee (coffee snob). My room was nice and comfortable too with a good night sleep.

Great Bed and Breakfast,stayed in mountain view room well decorated spotlessly clean with new ensuite bathroom. Excellent breakfast with good choice . Lovely hosts Good location only 5 minutes walk to bars, shops,restaurants and close to the lake Would definitely recommend and will stay here again if we are back in Keswick
