Best property we have stayed in Keswick!

Absolutely everything. Despite booking only 30mins before arrival we were warmly welcomed and offered an upgrade on our room! It was a great room, more like a suite which was great to relax in the evening. Parking at the rear in this location is a huge plus. Breakfast was fabulous, local produce, fresh and perfectly cooked. The breakfast room is beautiful too.

Paul was very friendly and welcoming! He gave us clear instructions for an easy check-in. Even though we forgot to let him know our breakfast preferences the evening we arrived, he was kind enough to prepare breakfast just the way we like it. The room was thoughtfully arranged with everything we needed—and even more. It was spotless, and the mattress, pillows, and duvet were all very comfortable. We truly appreciated his kindness and attention to detail.

Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice. All the food was of the best quality. the proprietor was also flexible regarding time when I wanted an early start. Generous drinks tray in room, also appreciated having a radio as well as a television. Good modern shower in en-suite.

The host was very helpful and generous, made us feel so welcomed. The property has a homely feel and very well equipped with extras provided, like pocket tissue papers, instant oats, biscuits, which we enjoyed thoroughly. Even the toilet paper was of high quality. Location was great, just a short walk to restaurants and the pier. The parking was also so convenient, right in front of the property.

Strathmore is in an excellent location. Everything in town is a short walk away. Paul was an exceptional host, offering suggestions on things to do and places to eat. He also had a wonderful breakfast.

Comfortable and beautifully decorated guesthouse with fantastic breakfast. Paul was a friendly and helpful host. Lovely views from our room. Keswick is a delightful town which is easy to walk around. Lots of great places in the town to eat as well as lovely views of Derwentwater.

We struggled with carrying our suitcases up to the third floor. Keep in mind that there is no lift.

This guest house is situated right next to the locall town centre snd its slso a short walk to the lake, paul (our host) is most welcoming and an amazing chef 😊

I didnt dislike anything about strathmore,my one and only little grumble was the comfort of our bed,i prefer a much harder mattress and this one was rather soft but hey ho you cant please us all 👍

Great host and superb breakfasts

Paul is a friendly host who obviously enjoys working with people. A natural for this particular trade. He serves up a superb breakfast and asks everyone how much they want. One of my top 10 breakfasts anywhere.

I stayed in the top floor single room with a private external bathroom, which is fine, but it's not as good as having an ensuite one, as it requires wearing more than I normally would when passing the neighbours room to access it. I was aware of this when I booked it, as it was the only single I could find at the time of searching for accommodation in Keswick. The shower cubicle is quite tight for a tall person, and its floor isn't safe to stand on with soapy feet what with the soft water here. Paul kindly offered to buy a non-slip shower mat, but I declined. I would suggest bringing one of your own with you; useful at many similar establishments, to be honest.
