A comfortable stay with hospitable, informative hosts.

The hosts were friendly and helpful. They were well-informed about the various walks and landmarks around the area. Our room was clean and well maintained and the en-suite shower didn’t disappoint. We appreciated that we had our own dining table assigned to us for breakfast which we could use for our own meals in the evening. Breakfast was great. The location was central and close to the bus station.

Fantastic stay at Abacourt House

Fantastic location, right in the heart of Keswick and with parking. (Absolute bonus in Keswick) Delicious breakfast cooked to perfection daily by John with plenty of choice to choose from. Abacourt House, was spotless and maintained to a very 'high standard' the hosts John and Heather are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble when providing specific dietary requirements for myself and providing information when needed 😊 a big thank you, John and Heather for such a lovely and welcoming stay, both myself, my hubby, sister and brother in law too really enjoyed our 3 night stay and we'll definitely be back! Tracy and Peter.

Was in Keswick for a big race, I chose to stay at Abacourt House and it was a great choice. The location was great, the room had everything I needed and the breakfast was outstanding.

John and Heather were excellent hosts extremely welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and I slept very well.Very peaceful and quiet surprising as so close to the centre of town. Breakfast could not fault everything I needed will definitely return.

Very steep stairs and uphill from town so not great if you have mobility issues. Two pillows per person but they were quite ’flat’ so didn’t give good support. Not a lot of power in the shower. Small bath towels. I’m being picky but honest.

Breakfast good and ample. Extremely friendly and helpful host and hostess. Excellent location - central (though on a slope, that might not suit all). Nice spacious room, with wonderful views. Hospitality tray replenished daily. Spotless bathroom, with a good shower.

Very little that could have been better. Possibly an hour's window for breakfast (8-9?), rather than half an hour.

Location and cleaness

Breakfast was too rigid Deciding what you want to eat for breakfast the day before is not something everyone would be happy with. I don't know if I want my eggs fried or scrambled until I seat at the table.

Great location, lovely breakfast and John was so helpful in terms of advice on walks and where to go. He also kindly let us borrow some ice packs which more than made for there being no fan in the room and windows that only open slightly.

Would not stay here again due to attitude

The Location in Keswick is very good being close to the Town and the Park Breakfast is very good even though timings are limited

Parking arrangements are poor We asked for some Extra Milk and the reply was its 8 a day, we did receive a jug, a notice in our room stated if you want extra milk to ask, Johns attitude was not what I would expect from the owner

A very pleasant stay

The Hotel was in a great position, just off the main street so handy for the shops and pubs etc but lovely and peaceful when needed We received a very warm welcome from John and his wife, they were friendly and helpful. Looking forward to visiting again. Forgot to mention breakfasts which were gorgeous

Fabulous Experience

Had a fabulous stay at Abacourt House during Easter bank holiday. Centrally located yet a quiet place ideally suited for couples/family and managed wonderfully well. John and Heather were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond to make it a special experience. The Cumbrian breakfast was delicious and they even allowed the use of the dining room at night in case we brought a take-in dinner. Would definitely consider visiting again!

The furnishings in the room could do with some upgrades while still maintaining the classic charm. The carpet could use a thorough clean. But overall, nothing too inconvenient.

Fantastic stay at Abacourt House Keswick

The location was excellent just minutes away from the centre, the breakfast was delicious it was a full English cooked to perfection you could have cereals as well but the full English was very filling so we never did. It has plenty of space for parking and you could also park on the street which we did, John and Heather were very knowledgeable about the area and very friendly we would definitely stay again and recommend it
