It’s such a warm and welcoming place to stay

The location was beautiful, it was also so clean and all the staff were super welcoming and friendly it was honestly such a lovely place to stay i honestly didn’t want to leave

I understand that the building is rather old and obviously with age come a few small things but as being a guest staying on the bottom floor when there were other guests upstairs every time they were up and about you could hear all the floorboards creaking and the walls were kind of thin so if people were talking you could hear it rather clearly but again I understand the building is old and it probably doesn’t help that I sleep light anyway

It was in a perfect location. The directions were very clear. The room itself was very clean and had a lovely vibe. Breakfast was extremely yummy and just what we were after!

Lovely place, clean and peaceful

The parking on arrival was good and check in was easy. Straight into the hotel and key was available with room number. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and shower was hot. Tea and coffee in room and extras were available in a basket in reception area. Breakfast was nice and staff at breakfast were friendly. It was also quiet on an evening and free view TV available in room for chilling on an evening. The area was central to reach some good walks locally and via car.

Nothing to dislike. The B&B is a good 20 minute walk into Keswick through fields. In the summer this would be a lovely walk, but in winter be mindful as there are no lighted areas, however local taxis were available for around £5 into keswick if you wanted to go for meal and drinks etc taxis would be harder to get in the summer due to how busy it gets.

Easy and relaxing.

Great breakfast, very comfortable bed and room, and the bathroom and shower were also excellent. Thanks for a great stay! Next time I'm visiting the Lake District I will return to stay again.

Breakfast was okay but cooked breakfast needs to be better Bacon and sausages poor scrambled eggs over done Room was fine just the outside light could do with Better curtains Area ideal for the mountains

Room was okay and acceptable for a Guest House , no frills or anything fancy but everything was there and available to us. Breakfast was good and enough choice for our 3 day stay . Room was quite cold and damp for the time of year , in fact , when we arrived we had to turn on the radiator in our room , which we wouldn't expect to do at the end on December . However , on the whole a satisfactory place to stay and served a purpose for us

No heating at night, and its -1 outside

What should have been a warm stay over the Christmas weekend proved the opposite and an appalling customer service. On arrival, the room was cold and toilet even colder. Thats not what you expect at 4-5pm in Lake District after a winter hike. We managed to warm the room for a bit but the toilet heater wouldn't work. The worst, between 10-11pm and until morning 7-8am, the heating was turned off centrally by the owners without notice or a headsup. We could not have a good sleep with the limited heating. I thought this is a mistake or a maintenance issue, but the owner confirmed over the phone that they can't afford letting us to use heating at night and that "nobody else in England uses heating at night anyway". I didn't really ask for his opinion but as long as I pay for your services, which includes heating as advertised, all you have to do is apologise and find a way to accomodate our needs. I might be a vulnerable person for all you care but profit is your priority. He simply refused to allow us heating overnight. We left the hotel first thing next day and will chargeback and make claims for not providing what we paid for. I go on a winter holiday and expect a warm room at any time. You guys have black mould in the wardrobe, a broken toilet heater in room number 8, spider webs everywhere and a disgusting attitude on how to solve customer problems. You also asked us to message you on your phone number for a smooth check in, but you never answered.

Served it’s purpose, but wouldn’t stay again

Theresa was really great, bubbly nice and accommodating. Instructions when checking in simple and easy to follow. Breakfast was nice, room really nice and warm

Wasn’t clean, lots of cobwebs, overall need a good fresh up as lots of marks scuffs and stains on walls, doors and frames. Also was told there was a bath and when arrived they didn’t have it available (although they were apologetic about this) Also we didn’t find the bed comfortable at all.

Great location with plenty of parking, easy to access and check in. Room was clean and plenty of fresh towels and refreshments (teas & coffee), staff were attentive & friendly at breakfast.

Rickerby Grange is a lovely bed and breakfast in the quiet village of Portinscale - the room was small but comfortable and had plenty of storage for our clothes - it was very quiet and we slept well - we could restock the supplies for tea/coffee and loo roll ourselves from the downstairs hall and ordering breakfast each day in advance speeded up the process in the dining room in the morning. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. We would certainly consider staying again if we're in the area.

The non contact check in was a bit impersonal - but it worked very well and we were able to get into our room without any problems. It did feel a bit like there were a lot of rules initially before we'd arrived - ordering breakfast in advance, parking against the hedge and other instructions received - but it did all work well and made sense!

Lovely location, just off the Cumbria Way, and comfortable room. Great view of the fells from our window. Breakfast excellent, with really friendly staff.

Shower tiny, though easy to use. Difficult to watch smart TV as internet speed too poor.
