Brilliant location and lovely breakfast. The host was very welcoming and helpful during our stay.
Top floor was quite a climb up the stairs.

Good central location with good views over the park. Comfy bedroom and a good breakfast with nearby parking on the road or car park for the guest house.
Would have preferred a room on a lower floor as the stairs were steep up to the 4th floor. The en-suite was built into the roof so avoiding the beams was necessary

I had a wonderful stay at Burleigh Mead in Keswick. The location is perfect – just a short walk to Booths supermarket, close to the lake, and within easy reach of hikes like Skiddaw and Catbells. The views are stunning, and everything was spotless and well-kept, which made it feel very welcoming and comfortable.
Mel, the host, is fantastic – she replies quickly, communicates well, and comes across as genuinely kindhearted, which made the experience even better.
I stayed Monday to Saturday and had a full week: Tuesday I hiked Skiddaw with my boyfriend, Wednesday we went kayaking on Derwentwater, Thursday we enjoyed a lakeside walk, and Friday we did zip trekking at Go Ape in Grizedale. Getting to Grizedale was a bit tricky – Google Maps wasn’t accurate and we took a taxi, though later realised two buses would’ve worked. Worth noting taxis in Keswick are best booked in advance, as they don’t always take long trips spontaneously.
Overall, Burleigh Mead was the perfect base – comfortable, clean, and in a great spot for both adventure and relaxation. Highly recommend!
Nothing. Noted some people are not a fan of the stairs. Taken into consideration that myself and my boyfriend hike a lot and are quite active, it honestly did not bother us at all. However, if you’re the opposite, just keep that in mind haha. The place, location and the host were all worth the stay :)

Variety of options for breakfast which was very good.

Excellent B&B; room (and all areas) very clean and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was plentiful and very nice, served with a smile. The views from the rooms at the front must surely be amongst the best in Keswick. This wouldn't work for anyone with poor mobility as there are a few stairs, up to the front door and then up to the rooms, but so long as you are alright with stairs I really don't think you could do much better for a place to stay (and I managed them, with all my bags, as a none-too-young solo female traveller, so they should be manageable for most people .... and the stairs, i.e. the height, is probably why the view is so lovely from the front, including from the dining room). Conveniently situated for the town and the lake, my thanks to the proprietors of this lovely, friendly, clean, well run B&B for their hospitality; I greatly enjoyed my stay, and would very highly recommend (and have already told friends and family about it!).

Location, great view from the room. The room was very well and tastefully decorated. It had good carpeting and all modern facilities, though it is an old Victorian house. Very good wifi and lovely breakfast. The owner, Mel, was very pleasant and had communicated prior to our arrival and even allowed us to check in early. She even helped us carry our bags up the stairs. There is private parking behind the property, though it is a bit cramped. The property is just a short walk from the City Centre and also the Lake.
Since it an old Victorian house, one needs to be aware of going up the flights of stairs since there is no lift.

Great location, so close to the lake and town. Nice views of the fells from our top floor bedroom. Very clean throughout. Host lovely and friendly. Would stay again.
Breakfast a little disappointing. I would have liked more choice for my cooked breakfast ie baked beans / black pudding and no smoked salmon or kippers as an option. Which i always like as a treat when away on holiday.

Perfectly positioned for easy walking access to the town, lake, and supermarket, as well as a starting point for such peaks as Catbells and Skiddaw. Easy drive to other parts of the Lake District. Room was clean and comfortable, with great mountain views, and the breakfasts were perfect. However, what really made our stay special was the ever-present, always helpful, and amazingly cheerful and friendly Mel. We'll definitely be making a repeat booking 🙂

Didn't stay. Booking.com booked me into a hotel that wasn't even open. Thought I was going to like it though.
The owner who was very rude because we parked in carpark all set to check in. No compassion that an error had been made that was neither of our faults. Rather than listen she was intent on believing we were tourists just trying to pull a fast one in order to use her carpark. Wrote an email to owner from address given by booking.com. No response. Was going to leave it there but booking.com keeps pestering me for a review.

Lovely breakfast, not greasy at all and the ingredients were really fresh.. Good option of cold buffet as well. Bed very comfy with a lovely view out of the room.
