Peaceful Stay & Great Hosting

Lorna was a fantastic host who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was clean, spacious, and featured a beautiful forest view. Even though the property is right on the main road, the room was surprisingly quiet. The beds were incredibly comfy and the cleanliness was, without a doubt, spot on!

The family room was a very good size. There was more than enough room for myself, my husband and my 8 year old. The beds were also very comfortable. The room was wonderful; spacious, airy, clean, warm. The host was exemplary; friendly, welcoming, communicative; she asked and recalled and used her client’s names - this is rare, exceptional. The breakfast was fantastic; a wide variety, nothing was too much trouble, the food was well sourced. We couldn’t fault our two night stay.

Perfect B&B

Lorna is an amazing host & was so accommodating for us and our baby girl. The breakfast was the best breakfast we’ve ever had in a B&B. Our room had a large comfortable bed & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely walk into Keswick on the old train lines from the B&B, which took around 15 mins to arrive at the Main Street

Lorna was a most hospitable and helpful host. The breakfast selection was exceptional and catered for a wide variety of dietary needs. Walker, families and dogs/cats are welcome!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. The B&B is a little out of town but the town centre is a very pleasant 10-15 minute walk along the old railway line. No on-site parking but ample free, on-street parking is available very nearby.

Fantastic value for the money

Great location of the hotel with a very short vicinity to the town. The hotel is dog friendly which is great and there is a small forest across the hotel to take the dog for a quick wee. The host, Lorna, goes above and beyond to make you comfortable and she makes an amazing breakfast which was included in the price. The room was specious and we could comfortably sleep in there with our 4 year old daughter and the dog. Lorna was also really helpful with guidance of the best places to go for food or to visit. Overall great value for the money paid.

Homely vibes, fantastic breakfast and spotlessly clean

It was very clean and had a come comfort vibe. The breakfasts were fantastic and there were little touches to the room that I really appreciated like makeup remover wipes and little scissors to help with the coffee and hot chocolate sachets as they can often be fiddly. I drink oat milk out of preference that there were plenty of little sachets in our room which was a thoughtful touch and also at breakfast the continental Side was fantastic! So many choices of spreads, jams, nut butters and loads of cereals, granola, weetabix, fresh juice, yogurts and she had a huge hamper filled with fresh fruit and cereal bars which guests were welcome to take whenever.

The only thing I found just a little frustrating was the walk into Keswick. It didn’t bother me at all in the day or on our way out to the meals in the evening but when it’s 10pm at night and you want to get to bed I wish it wasn’t a 25 min walk back. However we had no problem whatsoever getting a taxi back in the evening each night and it was only £4 one night and £5 the other so if you don’t want a walk late on taxi services are great.

Mother and son weekend away

The host Lorna was absolutely wonderful. She made our stay warm and welcoming. Even catered for my special dietary needs. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The room was clean and tidy, and most importantly, it was well stocked up with everything one needs. She also included a 24/7 fruit and snack corner ! Must mention we were greeted by her gorgeous friendly fluffy black cat named Salem the second day. The B&B was easily accessible to the local sites, plenty to see, restaurants, and cafes to go to.. My son and I enjoyed our weekend away.

The place definitely needs an update. The ensuite shower is quite small. The room space wasn't utilised properly and would look bigger if the sattee was removed and replaced with two small chairs and a small table instead blocking the bay window to enjoy the view outside. Does one need a huge wardrobe and dressing table?! Just need a small unit to hang a few clothing and maybe a long mirror. Didn't like it when the host went into the room in our absence to replace or top up things or clean the bins.. I guess it was meant to be a good intention. I did not appreciate it respecting ones privacy, which is important unless when asked too. Also, there's some black mould on around the window sill. No parking is available at the property itself, but the use of public parking, which was away from the property but accessible, and can get crowded although we were lucky enough to get parking space further uphill. Too noisy with traffic as the property is on the main road. But it was quite later in the night and got busy later on in the morning.

Fantastic comfortable stay, lovely host and wonderful breakfast

Don’t hesitate to book this beautiful little B&B. So peaceful, we never heard anyone else the whole weekend. You absolutely won’t be disappointed. We’ve just had the most relaxing stay. Lorna is a wonderful host and goes out of her way to ensure you’re comfortable and very well fed with the best breakfast we’ve ever had. The choice on offer is fantastic and she caters for all needs. Stan our Bedlington was welcomed every morning with a sausage. And I forgot to say thank you for the treat for him at our door. Great location for Keswick centre and walking distance to plenty of pubs and bars. Thank you for the most wonderful stay and we already can’t wait to return

We had a lovely stay, enjoying the charm of Keswick and its stunning surroundings, perfect for relaxing and exploring.

Lovely property with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Lorna went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Her delicious breakfasts were generous and varied. The 24/7 snack and fruit corner was a hit with our 7-year-old. Great location, just a short walk to the town centre and other touristic attractions in Keswick (Derwentwater, Castlerigg Stone Circle, Catbell, etc). We had to leave a day early due to our child feeling unwell, and Lorna kindly offered a refund - completely unexpected and much appreciated.

Gem of a B&B

Lovely friendly welcome, lots of lovely touches in the room variety of hot drinks, biscuits Also Lorna the owner is a lovely lady who goes out of her way to make your stay nice. Got my husband a lovely cupcake for his Birthday 🎂 Would definitely stay again

Lovely B&B for your perfect stay

Lorna is a lovely lady who took care of us for 3 nights. At breakfast, there are not only a range of cooked breakfast options, but also plenty of fruits/ bars for snacks during the day. She kindly did my washing twice during our stay as I was hiking everyday. It was very generous of her, and we enjoyed our stay here as much as the views from the peaks.

Great stay, would return!

Lorna is the most welcoming, kind host. The breakfast was lovely and the selection of picky bits was the best I've seen (Nakd bars, Avocado, Yakult and mini Boirsin!) and she even encouraged us to take any little snacks for our walk! The room was very traditional and the beds super comfy. If you're after clinically clean and super modern this isn't the place for you but if you want a warm welcome, a 15 minute walk into central Keswick with a really nice host then you'll love it here.

Mini honeymoon. Loved every minute. Room was comfy, breakfast was great. A nice 3 days.

The host Lorna, was lovely, waited outside, so we knew when we were there. Even bought us a bottle and choccies, when we told her we'd got married, nothing was too much trouble, very knowledgeable when it came to us exploring the area, she was really nice and helpful, a perfect host. The location was ideal for bus service, a walk to the attractions and a leisurely walk into town along a nice wooded footpath. The breakfast was filling, hot and even tweaked to our liking. The view from our window was good too. Would definitely recommend this b and b

Loved the location, although a little bit out of the centre so may not be for everyone. We liked the walk there and back. Free on-road parking across the road. Delicious breakfasts with lots of choice. Rooms well stocked with refreshments and also bathroom essentials. B&B host very friendly.

Excellent breakfast. Well cooked and generous portions and a wide range of choices on offer. Plenty of fresh fruit etc. Really it couldnt be faulted. We had a very warm welcome from Lorna who genuinely shows interest in the guests. We appreciated her suggestions for accessible walks and places to eat.

We liked the B&B . And although it didnt bother us, there is some road noise from the nearby A66. It is worth bearing in mind that if visitors want to walk into the town to avoid using the car there is a good pathway avoiding the road but restaurants and bars are therefore a walk away which is, of course no problem for the reasonably fit and healthy ...

Fantastic host, Lorna is a welcoming and friendly person. Nothing is a bother and she remembers every quests name, which is a special touch ! Breakfast is delicious and fresh with loads of snacks in offer. Dog friendly which is a bonus as we had our little chihuahua with us.

Very nice B&B and hosts. Silent, yet near Keswick

Nice quiet location, view over the garden at the back and the mountains in the near distance. Room a bit small, but still cosy. And all facilities were there. Really good breakfast! Keswick on walking distance through a beautiful nature trail. The cute black cat was kept carefully in their own rooms, but I got to see and caress him at request.

The room was small. I didn't mind, it was cosy. But my husband was a bit uncomfortable. No place for a chair. And this was the highest price of all 6 B&B's we'd booked.
