It's about 5 minutes drive from the lake. It's on top of the hill and you clearly see surroundings and the hills nearby. I arrived late at about 10 pm and there were automatic lockers with the room cards inside. You have to put the breakfast order by 6 pm, we did it much later and still get our breakfast in the morning. There is free car park next to the hotel.
In general it's okay although maybe a bit overpriced.

This is great value for money. The location is great with stunning views and a short walk to the local pubs and restaurants. The breakfast was lovely and the owner was lovely too.
Feel bad for even mentioning a negative as it was such good value for money, but the rooms were tiny. We’re a family of 4 and not a lot of room. However, for the price we can’t complain.

Parking, coffee & cakes in the public lounge, comfy room & facilities - amazing big breakfast. Despite being in a small village, there are plenty local services & easy to walk to from the property. Excellent value for money and perfect for walkers.
Nothing.

Everything! Very clear arrival instructions and extras like biscuits and hot chocolates in the room (all replenished). The cake in the afternoon was lovely. Board games to borrow for the children. Breakfast was huge and delicious. Honestly, it was so worth getting up early for! We liked the building, cleanliness (absolutely spotless), use of the drying room, location (close to Keswick but also the lovely Braithwaite for a walkable evening meal). We liked that there were fans in the cupboard (we like white noise at night) and a nightlight in the adjoining kids’ room as well as a child proof socket cover (so thoughtful). And the toiletries were lovely too. I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
Even on a double bed, a king sized duvet is needed. I found that there wasn’t enough to cover us both comfortably when sleeping on our sides so I had to use the throw (another nice touch)

The English breakfast was really good, including the vegetarian option. The room was very clean and comfortable. The surroundings were quiet and nice.
The parking slots are quite narrow, so it may need some care while parking.

The location, the host, the rooms all are amazing.
There was power cuts multiple times in the evening. We stayed with kids, so it was a bit uncomfortable during the dark.

I like the quiet neighborhood and hillside where the guest house is located. The breakfast is very good and makes you full until the afternoon. Emma is very kind to makes your stay comfortable and warm when I asked more blankets and heating. Self-check in and check out system is efficient enough to enjoy the peacefulness of the accommodation without bothering the host. The place is perfect for family if you drive around the area.
The room in which I was placed smells a bit without sufficient ventilation. The garden view was blocked from the fence. The toilet is working but the sound is too loud. The bed is very weak and sounds terrible whenever I move.

A lovely, welcoming place in a stunning location. Every day there is a nice piece of cake and breakfast is generous. There is good public transport and nice restaurants as well. And then there are the lakes and mountains.

The property is clean and quiet, and Emma is helpful. The breakfast is excellent. There are cakes served in the afternoon for guests, which I found very sweet.
Everything was good.

Friendly landlady. Nice breakfast
Booking system was a trifle complicated with filling in a questionnaire prior to arrival.

The breakfast and the friendly host
Closeby restaurants that were both good.
The long pre-registration form (one for each guest) that asked way too many questions that were unnecessary based on other hotels/B&B's in the pst 2 months of my UK travels.

Ultra Clean and efficient self check in system.
Everything you’d want is provided.
The free afternoon cakes was a lovely touch.
All consumables were locally sourced, which is fantastic.
Top most floor has sloped roof, so half the room isn’t usable. But for solo travellers it’s more than sufficient.

Well organised, clean & lovely. Lots of little bonus unexpected extras. Cake in the lounge & bubble bath for my bath with a view of the sky. The mountain views from my room are stunning. Plus the breakfast is amazing, and huge.

We had a family room and it was very clean. It was very tiny, but comfortable enough. Braithwaite is a cute village just outside Keswick. As long as you have a car, it’s an okay place to stay. The staff, that you only see at breakfast, was very friendly.
Carpets. The breakfast wasn’t great (but this could be cultural) and was served really early, at 7.45 or 8.15. After the first morning, our kids skipped the second breakfast to sleep, my husband only had the continental options and I just had coffee (also not great—but again, could be cultural). Of course it’s nice to have breakfast included, but in this case we would’ve preferred paying less and finding our own.

Emma was a great host and took great care of our comfort during the stay and also helped with suggestions for places around. The breakfast was fantastic! Definitely a great place if you are looking to stay away from the crown and hustle bustle of Keswick town. 10/10 recommended.

I liked the location and the staff's lovely attitude. They were fantastically friendly and quite keen to help with outdoor activities. The place was always outstanding.
I didn't like the pillows; they were a bit high for my body and neck, and too many pillows! just 2 is fine hahaha, but to be honest, nothing bad or wrong with the accommodation.

Breakfast was fairly good. The guest house was clean.
Inadequate and insufficient cupboard space in one of our rooms - 4 of us between 2 rooms.
Rather low ceiling height.

Great breakfast (ordered the day before so good choice and freshly cooked). Friendly staff. Room quite spacious and good view across the valley. Mostly good bus service from the village to Keswick when we didn't want to use the car. Enough parking though a bit awkward to get in!
We had to book at the last minute as the hotel we had booked cancelled us because they had a gas leak. The only drawback was the uphill walk from the bus stop.

A beautiful guest house. The owner has thought of everything .We had been up wainwrights most of the day, this was just what we needed coming back.Stocked up tea/coffee/biscuits fresh fluffy towels in the immaculate room the most amazing selection of cake(home made) in a l quaint living room (I thought I’d died and gone to heaven .The pain of the hike was all worth it.Very tasty breakfast too.A beautiful hideaway but don’t tell too many people🤫.

Very poor. Apart from egg, bacon and mushrooms were lukewarm warm and possibly in a Bain Marie too long giving to leathery bacon and dried leathery mushrooms. I returned an almost full breakfast without any feedback from management. Next morning tomato for breakfast again no comment from management.
We arrived at 3.45 from Scotland and my wife was desperate for toilet but owner turned her away with”earliest book in 4.0. Not a good start.
Considering it’s a bed and BREAKFAST
Understanding that we had travelled from Scotland and a more sympathetic reaction to my wife’s needs. A “How is your breakfast?” would be nice.cleanliness was superb. Organisation very organised.Would not stay there again.

I enjoyed the breakfast, the only thing to mention is that the mushroom was a little dry. The location is beatiful but could do we better signage to get to the place
Signage to the place would be appreciated

Brilliant stay. The guest house is clean, well appointed and very well organised. The location is outstanding. Breakfast is freshly cooked and of a very high quality. The rooms are very well appointed with everything you would need. There is even a daily piece of freshly baked cake available in the lounge! The small car park is well organised so that all rooms have a parking space. The village of Braithwaite is beautiful and has 3 options for evening meals and two cafes for afternoon refreshments. The owner is very friendly and welcoming.

Amazing location with beautiful views of the countryside
B&B hosts were lovely and helped us plan our days
Good breakfast
Lovely house with charm but modern facilities
Nice lounge area with books and games - and sometimes cake!
Hosts put out balloons for my child's birthday
Rooms were quite small with minimal luggage storage
Staircase to rooms very tight
Hot water taps/pipe in shower got very very hot before it mixes with cold water - my son burned himself when he slipped and leaned on it.

Really nice BnB, welcoming and friendly staff, very helpful and attentive, overall great atmosphere.
The car park is a bit small, it's not a problem but maybe would be nice to know it in advance so there is no surprise.

Great location for walking into village and onto fells and close to Keswick. Excellent organisation from pre-registration, self check in and breakfast ordering. Room was spotless and breakfast was excellent. Lounge area with games a bonus and homemade cake was a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend.
Room was smaller than the one pictured on booking but still had everything we needed.
