Very lovely homely stay in the lakes. The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Bedroom very cosy

Cosy pub, friendly staff but not very clean room and the food was rather basic.

It's an old fashioned pub and very cosy. The staff on the whole are friendly and the food was nice.

It's a limited evening menu. The pub doesn't offer breakfast but advises the café in the village, unfortunately the café wasn't open when we walked over. Pub was closed when we checked out, so had to post the key through the front door. The room wasn't the cleanest.

Cosy rooms. Would go agsin

Nice place and good for walks and going in to keswick. The dog friendly taxi from keswick was £12 and the walk back in the morning took about 50 minutes. Rooms were lovely.

There wasn’t enough parking on site but there was street parking. There is a little place nearby that does breakfast but would be good if they did breakfast but not a big deal.

Great location but noisy and overpriced

Location. Clean room.

Tiny room for the price. Very very noisy in the room the walls must be like paper. I could hear everything in the bar and then the cleaning up afterwards. Very pricey considering it was such a small room with no sound proofing and no breakfast.

Gorgeous stay

Lovely staff, very clean room. Stayed with my friend and my dog. Had everything I needed. Only thing was the fridge was very small. I only wanted it for milk as I drink a lot of coffee but the staff were happy to refill the milk for us so wasn't an issue. Would return without hesitation. Food was lovely, drinks were great. 2 second walk from local shop, cafe and bus stop. Free parking. Can't complain

Location, cute pub, accommodation ok

Way too hot in pub, dirty boxer shorts found in bathroom, went out for walk came back to no parking available so had to park down the street all night and no tables available so had to go to sit in our room until table became available.

The location was great for us, car parking was spot on. Good atmosphere in the pub, we didn't order a meal but did order from "the sides" choice on menu. Soup was nicest we've tasted and chips were lovely. Considering the rooms we're on top of a pub, we weren't disturbed by this.

Not in the hotels control but first thing on a morning people letting their dogs out / chatting in corridors was so noisy, could hear everything. Rooms are clean however there was a terrible smell coming from the bathroom, think the toilet was leaking or had been leaking which meant the flooring was stinking. No stool in the bedroom infront of dressing table so bit of a nightmare to get ready. Provide a kettle & cups & two biscuits but no teabags, coffee / milk but there is a fridge in room which was a nice touch. The check in was waiting for a member of staff in the pub and check out no one was around.

Rooms great. Pub food disappointing.

Room was very good, very clean, shared with a friend so we booked a family room which was a single and double bed. Rooms had own exit so didn't have to go through pub when we returned after night out. Only disappointment was the pub restaurant, my friend had a steak which was inedible, asked for rare but could not cut it, looked as if it had been possibly frozen! Almost none was eaten, waitress asked if we needed a steak knife ! Eventually the steak was removed from our bill. My friend was left a bit hungry 😕

Room only. The pub doesn't do breakfast but cafe's are available nearby and very nice. Restaurant in pub was lovely and food very nicely prepared, but you can also eat in the bar. Very nice staff ( didn't bat an eye when we thought we'd lost the room key). Good shower and beds were very comfortable.

It would be good to have a chair rather than a stool in the room but this was our only point.

Comfortable and well appointed Inn in a lovely location, with great parking and tasty food.

The room was lovely, newly decorated and everything you need. Ate in the pub and food was excellent. Though it's expensive it isn't really when you look at the cost of the staying in the Lake District in high season!!- so really good value in that regard. Easy to get into Keswick and further afield from here. No problem at all parking on site- a huge bonus.

It was really hot when I stayed and a fan in the room would have been appreciated.

The location was perfect for us and the room was excellent apart from the noisy air con unit.

We had an air handling unit positioned on the flat roof next to our bathroom window. The unit was noisy and clicked off and on all night making it difficult to sleep.

Great location but sweltering hot over night which detracted from the overall experience

Parking available (not always guaranteed). Staff were lovely. Room was clean. Check in was easy and straightforward. Check out also straightforward.

Overnight our room was hotter than Hades! There was a fan but it didn't make a dent in the heat even with the window open. It wasn't a particularly warm evening but it felt like an oven. Sadly resulting in a really poor night's sleep.

Small room in a great location

Friendly, good location, clean

Parking wasn't a problem late at night but as the car park only holds 8-10 cars it could easily be full during the day. Room was very small, just enough space to move around the sides of the bed. Looking at the fire exit plan it was apparent that this was the smallest room so the rest should be quite a bit more spacious

We would have liked breakfast as an option as this would make the stay much better .We only had one evening meal which was very expensive for what was no more than average pub grub.

A good hotel with excellent, friendly staff serving reasonably priced tasty meals

Friendly staff, ideal location for our purpose

Thin walls as could clearly hear other guests talking i to the early hours. Our room was next to the late entry door which other guests used noisily when entering after hours. No option for breakfast in the hotel

The room was spotless and they had a fan waiting for us in this warmer weather. There was also a mini fridge. All staff we came into contact with were very friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal and it was delicious.
