Check in was smooth and quick and it was nice to be able to check in early because our room was available.
Staff very polite friendly and helpful.
Room was a good size, plenty of storage, clean and I liked the Jo Loves products. Turn down service was lovely. It was quite noisy from the road outside though which was not good. Windows should be better.
Dinner and drinks at the hotel were great couldn’t recommend them enough. Our dinner was delicious. Well cooked, fresh and full of good flavour. I had pork chop with black pudding crochets my husband had the lamb with champ.
Breakfast was disappointing. Ordered food was slow and not as good as other hotels I’ve been to where I haven’t paid as much! The whole breakfast should be as a buffet style as this is what we prefer. I stayed at the Grand Central Hotel previously and they did an excellent breakfast with a quieter room. Would recommend that hotel more, if available, than the Fitzwilliam.

The hotel and room were very nice. My only complaint was that some of the outlets in the room didn’t work. The WiFi was also spotty. On our last night our room door card swipe mechanism stopped working which was frustrating, but the hotel concierge was able to help us out. Hotel is very well maintained and close to everything.
