Staff were lovely. Rooms were clean. Food was ok
Light bulb in lamps not working. Plug sockets not working, though quickly resolved by maintenance. Bathroom taps wobbly, hard to operate. No shower cap in the packet. Far too hot even after turning heat off. Overpriced food.

Room was extremely comfortable. I travelled with a pet and there were lovely welcoming touches, including bowls, a bed and a goody bag. I had an issue dealing with on street parking while I was there and the woman at reception could not have been more helpful.
Like some others who commented I found the room was a bit hot and stuffy (and I stayed in January!) but the fan helped.

The squeaky floor boards. Every time some walked near the room it sounded like someone was kicking the door in

Put in a room 4th floor when building work going on, very noisey. Had to complain and was moved 2nd day. They were out if order knowing the building work was going on.

The staff at Malmaison are lovely and helped us with all queries and concerns. The location is excellent for a night in Belfast.
After check in I was waiting at the lift-opposite a loo with the door wide open and it was littered with mess.
Then when the lift doors opened at my door, I was greeted by a painter -all set up . Bottles of Dr Pepper and a pure mess. The fumes were overwhelming. He explained he was painting a floor!! I mean -in what world does a hotel refinish floors the weekend before Christmas??!! I got into my room but the fumes were so bad I immediately had a headache. The receptionist moved me to a new room very quickly.
The new room had the heat at full capacity and we were far too hot.
The hotel bedroom and bathroom were grubby and tired. The bathroom was actually really dirty. The lighting was so bad and there wasn’t even a decent light to put on make up. The hair drier broke half way though . Staff brought a new one but I was late for dinner then. I left for dinner over heated, late and not happy.
When we got back later, the staff were so accommodating getting us tea etc.
The overall experience of this hotel was just fair and made pleasant by the staff. But it needs refreshed and a deep clean. In the morning I just hadn’t the heart to start complaining when obviously the front desk were busy and doing their best.

Delicious breakfast. Portions generous. Location ideal for all local attractions.
Staff lovely. Very professional and warm.
Loved gothic ambience but overly dark. Brighter spot lights needed. Bathroom very small.

Close to the city centre
It just lacked attention detail. Example …. The toilet door adjacent to the lift was left wide open all evening and the even the next morning.
Wasn’t the nicest view and why wasn’t the duty manager seeing this and closing the door.
We left our bags in the reception as we were going shopping on the last day and when we returned to collect them we were pointed in the direction of a room and told to go in a collect them. No security check of the ticket we were given so we could have lifted any bags and no one appeared to care.
The staff in the breakfast room although very pleasant were not wearing any sort of uniform only jeans which all in all doesn’t really look professional.
We have stayed in this hotel a few times but without doubt the whole feel of the place is that standards are dropping except for the price of their rooms.
I’m always convinced that this happens when the managers don’t pay enough attention to detail and take clients for granted.
Clients vote with their feet …………

It was very close to a lot of enjoyable things to do such as bars and shopping centres. Staff were extremely useful in terms of advising us on things to do in the area and very kind and non judgemental.
We were using the chrome cast in the room and the experience was some what iffy. Food pricing was a little much so we skipped on that.

The breakfast it was not up to my standard...

Bit of luxury in central Belfast. Frequently by Madonna, I'm told.
Booking.com photos show gorgeous roll top baths when in reality you - might - get a standard bath.

The staff were excellent!
They were able to facilitate everything we needed - including staying a second night!
The hotel is beautiful and room was brilliant.
We really enjoyed our first night down the bar with the cocktails and burgers. The bartenders were fantastic - so knowledgeable, friendly and approachable.
Having to leave!

Service, food, lack of customer care.
7.0 / 10.0
The room was okay. The bed was good and the size was good. We used one of the larger rooms. The bar is decent. The staff were good. It was pleasant enough. If you're looking for a hotel that is a bit above the Premier Inn, etc. level (nothing wrong with them) and is located in Belfast city centre, this is a decent choice. It is just not great value for money.
But what let it down was the poor lighting. It was really hard to see anything in the room. I understand that some places want to create a mood, and perhaps even a romantic or mysterious one, but they should also give customers the choice as to having a bright room (so they can see what they're doing) and then changing the lighting to suit the mood. The price was a bit steep for what one got.

Great location, good sized room and bed, comfortable and clean, nice bar, good breakfast and brilliant staff.
It would have been good to have a gym but that’s the only minor improvement I’d make!
