Lovely setting. Peaceful well decorated room.
Staff very friendly.
Mindful of vegetarians.
Excellent multi course meals.
Very minor things: trash had not been emptied from previous occupant, a few soiled marks on tatami at entrance. No cream for coffee in room.

The public and private onsens were lovely. Our futons were super comfortable. The staff explained everything well. Even though we didn’t love everything in the multi course meals, we loved the cultural experience of it. Also, a very good effort was made to accommodate my fish allergy (difficult with Japanese food).
The extra charges for lots of things (umbrellas, extra bedding) seemed excessive and out of place at such an expensive and luxury accommodation.
