We liked the staff who served us the meals. One of the members in our group was a vegetarian. When I informed the hotel right after booking (sometimes in March for my June visit), the hotel rudely said we don't accommodate vegetarians, find a different hotel (I can forward the message that they sent me!). However, to our pleasant surprise, when we informed the staff that our vegetarian member would just be eating only whatever veggies they serve, the staff went above and beyond to make sure they took care of him by serving plenty of vegetarian dishes. I am surprised why the hotel staff in their email communication mentioned that they will not accommodate vegetarian food requests. Again, a pleaseant surprise and we are thankful to the staff.

I booked 2 rooms for 4 people. One room for my wife and me, and one for our 2 boys traveling with us. When we arrived at the hotel, the check-in staff mentioned that I had reserved the room for 2 people and NOT 4 people. I was confused, and they could never explain to me why they assumed I would reserve 2 rooms for my wife and me. And they told me that they will charge me 6000 yen for the "extra 2 people" in my party to stay but they cannot take part in the dinner and breakfast. BTW, when I reserved through booking.com, I selected 2 rooms, each with 2 people and with the dinner and breakfast plan - $450/room. It took me nearly 90 minutes of talking to the staff, showing them all the emails, and finally they told me that for an additional 6000 yen, they will let my 2 boys stay (in the room I reserved for them) and also will let them have dinner and breakfast!!! It was a bad experience, and I was surprised by how the staff kept talking in circles instead of understanding my question and being empathetic. I feel cheated.
