Matsuzakaya Honten

Matsuzakaya Honten was the highlight of our two-week trip to Japan. The moment we entered our room, our jaws dropped. It was incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and featured floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a lush green landscape. Our private onsen was peaceful, completely private, and surrounded by a beautiful garden. It was the perfect place to relax. The kaiseki ryōri dinner and breakfast were absolutely unforgettable. Both were nine-course meals, with several courses featuring multiple beautifully presented dishes. Every course was a masterpiece and tasted just as incredible as it looked. We became so full during dinner that our wonderful waitress thoughtfully prepared our remaining dish as onigiri for us to enjoy later in our room. That small gesture meant so much to us. The room deserves five stars. The food deserves five stars. But the service deserves even more. We’ve stayed at many luxury hotels, yet the warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality from every staff member surpassed them all. Everyone made us feel truly welcome and cared for throughout our stay. If we return to Japan, Matsuzakaya Honten will be our first reservation. Thank you to the entire staff for creating memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime. ❤️

Wonderful and relaxing stay with attentive service staff and great amenities. Food was superb in the semi private dining. We had a nice time and memorable experience with our family.
