Rustic hot spring inn. Our room has a wonderful open air bath next to the wood. Dinner and breakfast were amazing. It was a traditional authentic Japanese meal with chef's creative arrangements. We heard Japanese bush warblers chirping in the morning. Our room attendant (Nakai-san) worked hard for us although she was quite new.
Because of historical inn, it was old and dimly. But once I get used to it, I like the atmosphere. Each room appears to be quite different. Futon mattress was thin, so we added two mattresses for our back pain.

The staff was too notch, so nice, loved that they would take you I the shuttle to the train station. Loved the in room service. The variety of private and public onsens were great and peaceful. Good places to clean up after as well.
Rooms were dated and could use a refresh. The location presents a challenge, takes 10 minutes to walk up and down hill to town. Food was just ok, we like to eat a little quicker than the pace allowed. All drinks were extra money.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Group of 8 family and friends. The dinner and breakfast were both fantastic. Enjoyed the onsens and relaxation room. It was a fantastic spot to recover and reset after hectic Tokyo days. Wish we would have a stayed another night at the end of our trip.

It’s a traditional location if that is something you are seeking. Pretty house I suppose.
It felt very awkward and the food only looked pretty. Taste was not. The rooms were a bit cold, although they had mini splits in each room. No restaurants or stores readily available. You have to ask for a ride to the train station to get anywhere, and that gets old very quick. For the price I paid for one night, it was definitely not worth it.
