Un pur bonheur. J ai tout adoré: la chambre, la vue, les onsens et surtout le service. Les repas étaient magnifiques, servis avec beaucoup de soin, de délicatesse. J ai passé un séjour merveilleux et je reviendrai sans hésiter

It was beautiful and serene. After traveling for a couple weeks in big cities, it was a perfect reset before finishing the rest of our trip in Japan. The onsens were lovely, I really liked the skincare products provided. The staff were very sweet and accommodating, we loved our attendant! The meals were tasty and interesting. We loved the sweet potato ice cream for dessert and the pork dish was delicious 😋 The tomato dish was the best tomato we’ve ever tasted, oishii! We also got a massage right before bed, I haven’t slept so hard in my life. It was magical. I hope to return to Hakone one day, it’s a very cute mountain town with really good food and fun shops near the river. I also wish we would have stayed longer to enjoy a hike or 2.

We didn’t love everything that was served for dinner but I think that is more about palate rather than execution. There were a lot of jellies and other things that we hadn’t tried before. We happily tried them and 95% of the meal was delicious, but some things were a bit too foreign to our taste.

Location and private onsen was beautiful.

The property was a bit outdated for the price. The real disappointing aspect was the food we paid an additional $250 for dinner and breakfast. Both my husband and I are in luxury hotel brands and the food quality was awful. We had to stop the coursed dinner after the second dish and go off property for the rest of the meals. Not only having to spend extra but going out of our way and not getting to enjoy the property to the fullest as we only booked one night.
