Location. Clean. Nice room size. Breakfast excellent. Staff super friendly and helpful.

Mattress was a bit hard. Lightning not great. Smells of smoke even though it's a non-smoking room.

Room was big and spotless. Beds are very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Perfect location, right next to the tram stop and only 10-15 min walk from Rhine river.

The shower - once I worked out that I had to leave it running for 3 minutes before use, it was boiling hot night and day Very comfortable bed Excellent instructions throughout - this is a great hotel for people who don't want to meet too many staff! The staff was very nice and tried to do their best. They helped making the experience ok. The room we had was rather large. It was clean and, as we were on the backyard, quiet 8on teh front it is noisy I think). The location is handy and the basel card allows you to travel easily around with the trams and busses as tehre are plenty just in front of the hotel.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel. The reception is closed after 5 pm on weekdays and 3 pm on weekends. Therefore you cant leave your luggages. There are no lobby, no bar to take a drink and basically no common spaces. The breakfast is ok-ish but more like a 2 star hotel. The TV was not working (and as there is no staff to ask, you just have to put up with it - or rather without it). Some of the furniture is dated and the tiling on the floor makes it cold and uncomfy. Overall you're left with some kind of a dodgy feeling. Overall it was not catastrophic (we basically slept well in clean sheets) but really not a 4 star feeling. For the price of a 2 star it would have been great, but for a 4 star price it is not pleasant (when we were there we could have slept elsewhere in real 4 star hotels for the same price) and I basically felt ripped off.
