Nice experience

The location was good and they offer free ticket to the public transportation in the city (trams and buses, including the airport bus). We learned that this is usual in Switzerland. But it’s a nice thing. They also offer free thè (high quality) and coffee and the you can drink the content of the monibar, no charge (2 coke, 2 water, 1 beer).

The bed was a bit soft for us, but it’s very unique for an individual what he/she prefers. So it’s not really a complaint just an information for those who prefer harder matracess.

Lovely place, kind people!

The location was great, near the tram and the main train station, Basel SBB. The room was large and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the towels were changed daily. I appreciated receiving a Basel Card from the hotel, which was very useful. It offered free transportation and 50% off at many tourist attractions.

Extended weekend in Basel

Very nice hotel facilities, amenities and staff. Very good location to start exploring the city. Nice comfortable and clean rooms. Only had "fast breakfast" but all with fresh pastries and bread. "all you can have" policy for coffee, tea, minibar soft drinks and beer makes you stay even better. Good wi-fi to keep you connected. The free public transport card for the entire stay is a lovely extra and the 50% discount card for city museums leave you no excuse not to visit them.

Clean, comfortable, upscale hotel in a great location!

Everything was great, location, breakfast buffet, large comfortable room. Clean hotel, with everything from a separate child play room to a full workout gym. Good location near the Rhine and the Basel Pass made it easy to get you, where you want to be, easily and quickly.

Hotel in a great location to enjoy all that Basel has to offer.

The hotel is located a 5mins walk from the Rhine and next to a busy road but the hotel was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Trams are nearby for transfers across the city e.g. across the bridge over the Rhine to the old town. Our room overlooked a quiet, shady garden that offered very welcome relief from the hot weather. Free tea and coffee was available at all times and could be enjoyed when relaxing in the garden. The room had good facilities: an enormous bed, good lighting and a fully equipped bathroom (but no bath). Good buffet breakfast with plenty of fruit, bread, cheese and pastries. Some cooked food too. Other facilities: Kids play room (very good for families with small children) and small gym available. Staff very welcoming and pleasant throughout our stay.

Only minor comments. The room had no air con so it did heat up during the day but temperature was acceptable at night. Limited selection of cold meats at breakfast - somewhat unusual for a central European hotel in our experience.

Nice hotel close to the centre, lovely staff

We only spent one night there but as we arrived early, the woman at reception upgraded us to give us a room straight away, so thank you for that. The room and staff were lovely. We had a nice stay.

The only negative point was when we went to the car park to leave at 4:45 am for our flight, our car had been blocked by another car that had been allowed to park in front of us. That made us very stressed so I want to thank the security guard for moving the car quickly and allowing us to leave on time

The perfect location for the Euros final and some city exploring!

The staff were really friendly, we were able to check in early when we initially arrived to drop our bags off, which was nice. The hotel and room was clean and spacious. The free drinks and coffee were a nice touch and the complimentary drinks in the room were good, and also replaced during our stay. The bathroom was clean and the shower pressure was good. Location was really close to transport links and getting around the city and to/from the airport was easy. The area felt safe.

The room was really warm in summer. There was a fan and the window opened quite wide but it was stuffy weather so the fan was just blowing hot air around. I imagine the insulation would be good in winter.

I would recommend for location, staff and style…but not for the middle of summer unless they install aircon!

Location, style and level of service.

No air conditioning so the room was stifling and we got hardly any sleep. They provided a fan but as it was so hot this simply moved hot air around the room!

Perfect in every way

I liked everything about this hotel. Breakfast was great with lots of thing to choose from. The room was spacious and clean. At night there was no noise from the outside. The curtains did the job - the room was completely dark at night. The staff was extra nice and accomodating. The hotel is close to the tram line that takes you right to the main train station and the centre of the old town.

Wonderful staff and location

Lovely location very close to old Basel. Our accommodation was in a separate block and one room was up stairs without a lift which wasn’t an issue for us but could be for others. Bird song in the courtyard garden was very peaceful and there was even a resident hedgehog as we sat out with the beer from our minibar late in the evening! The breakfast was fantastic and I’m glad we took the parking as we arrived late.

Great location a short walk into the old town. Buffet breakfast definitely worth the the money and the free coffees in reception were a lovely touch. We paid for parking and the hotel kindly let us park earlier and stay a bit later than our check and check out at no extra charge as they had space.

Excellent location, great accommodations!

Excellent location, able to easily travel from Europort to hotel. Friendly staff, greeted and promptly checked in. Room was +++, great room, art!, bedding luxurious. Easily navigable around city. Added a side to trip to Kriens, worth it! Breakfast and coffee bar wonderful! Italian restaurant on corner was great!

We enjoyed a lot

Breakfast buffet was more than we expected. It was just excellent. Super clean. Duck feather pillows. Similing people. The garden was my favourite place. Playroom was my 3-year old daughter's favourite. Special soaps for kids and free coffee/tea the whole day was so kind, so precious. Thank you very much
