Clean, well located, and welcoming

We enjoyed our stay in Basel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was nice and convenient. The location is great — within walking distance of the Old Town.

The decor wasn’t quite to our taste, but the room was clean and more than sufficient for a short stay.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel, and I would definitely recommend it to my colleagues.

The location is great — you can easily walk to the city center and the Rhine. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

I expected daily room cleaning and fresh towels. Unfortunately, during our three-night stay, the room was not cleaned and the towels were not changed. I also looked for the door hanger sign to request housekeeping, but I couldn’t find one.

Perfect for Family stay. Close to city center

The Hotel is located around 15 mins from Basel Train station and around 30 mins from Basel airport. It is located near city center and have perfect location for people travelling for work or as tourist. The rooms are spacious, clean and tidy. Ideal for family

A Most Excellent Apartment-Hotel in a good area of Lausanne

The Aparthotel Adagio Basel provided a great apartment for our stay, with a ready kitchen and bright bedroom / living room. There was plenty of space in the unit. The staff were helpful. The location too was excellent, with plenty of groceries, restaurants, services, and a good dog park nearby. It takes only a few minutes to walk to, and over, the bridge into the old town.

If you are driving, I would recommend working out the details for the parking garage entry in advance, as it is a bit nerve racking finding the correct doors, knowing how to enter etc., given the busy and complicated streets of Lausanne.

The best place in Basel to stay

The receptionists helped us by lending a swimming bag (fish). The free cafe is also a very kind. The location of the hotel is excellent. This is the second time for us to stay here and we will return

I recommend the place to stay for long weekend in Basel!

Very good location, you have a delicious Brazilian restaurant next to the hotel. Also, in the heart of KleinBasel -> close to the river, close to the center. The common area with tea and coffee is very comfortable and nice, also guests can play piano which is a very nice way to finish your day :)

Only one thing - the carpet in the corridor was not clean.

Everything is already good. If the shower gel can be put in a wall dispenser, it will be more convenient. A toaster in the kitchen will be appreciated.

In the very expensive Basel, this was a very affordable and good hotel.

My bed was bad. This was the only negative part. Proposal: breakfast opens 7AM which is too late for many business visitors, and get some upgrade of the garden (cleaning and furnitures).

Perfect location to see the sights of Basel and beyond.

Our room on the first floor was quiet and looked out over the garden. We weren’t even aware of anyone else on the floor unless we met them coming out of their room. The location was a block away from the trams and there was a grocery nearby where we picked up breakfast to keep in the refrigerator. Would definitely recommend this place or would stay here again ourselves.

Can’t think of anything we didn’t like. We did not have breakfast at the hotel since we picked up stuff at the grocery.

Good for family who needs a kitchen and wants to stay in quite area yet close by the city Center

Location was perfect as wasn’t very loud and still walkable from city Center Near by coop (grocery store) was great help Trams station was close by and few cafes were also nearby which was great too to get a cuppa!

Room size is not huge especially when you have a little child. Plus exhaust in bathroom and toilet were not working the entire time. Rest of the facilities were as listed.

Convenient hotel near Basel Messe (conference center).

The hotel is located very close to 2 squares and you can easily walk 3-5 minutes to a public transport station. Property also has underground parking (with fee), so it’s very convenient if you come by car.

They do not clean the rooms daily, only once every 8 days… not sure who stays that ling, especially if you’re in town for a conference. There is a fee to do on-demand cleaning in the room, change sheets etc.

Budget accomodation

Great location. Very reasonable price. Little kitchenette is useful for storing water and maybe breakfast pastries. Shower was great and having toilet in separate room is good too.

Aircon did not work. Decor was not in great condition. It was meant to be four people staying in the room but it would have been very stuffy and the door separating two rooms would not close so there was no privacy. Simple things that if fixed would make all the difference.

Great location. Very close to the tram. The staff at the front desk are very nice and attentive. Big bathroom with good water pressure in the shower/bath. Very clean.

Location is v good , 10min drive from basel sbb , have stayed with adagio before in london , so I was sure it has to be good...v good reception people, v warm and polite , when u book here , u get a free pass to all the public transport to move around in basel...that's v handy...many cafes around...overall v good stay...5 stars Dr Vijay India mumbai

Quite nice 3 star hotel - clean kitchen

The room is big enough, the service is good. Especially free offered coffee is great. Kitchen is so much better than we expected and any other Airbnb accomodation. They offer all necessary things including microwave, a big refregirator, even a dish washer and all cutlery.

The light under the shelves in the kitchen was not working. We didn't cook for long so didn't ask for fixing but our first impression was not excellent. The bed compared to other hotels(3 stars) or accomodation is worse. It was a okay-level, not really comfortable.

Size of room, the fact that it had a kitchen was ideal

No air conditioning, there were days that the room was at 28•C and the staff could do nothing about it. Some of the staff was not nice and sarcastic/mean when answering questions. Not very good disposition to help.

I specifically selected -air conditioning- when I searched on this app(booking.com), and this APARTHOTEL was one of the choices we had, but NO there was no such thing when we were there!! It was so hot we sweat like there's no tomorrow! Our sleep wasn't proper at all. The bed and pillows are extremely uncomfortable our back and shoulder suffered!! We chose an APARTHOTEL because we wanted a small kitchen and a fridge. But oh no, this place was not worth it at all!! Upon our arrival, the floor was dirty, there were molds and mildew in the bath, and the toilet smelled like pee that hadn't been cleaned for days. The room isn't cleaned until you leave - therefore you have to pay if you need your room cleaned. They agreed to have our towels changed once for free, further than that will be charged. We contacted the reception because 1. there's no phone in the room, 2. they don't pick up when we called, and 3. we are so busy because we weren't there for a vacation/holiday/leisure, that we literally have no time to deal with the situation at the reception. We have received no compensation whatsoever when we left even though they are aware of what we felt and think of our stay.

Plenty of storage in this convenient apartment hotel near the conference centre

I specifically chose this hotel for the location - only a 2 minute walk from the Basel Convention Centre where I was attending a conference. Couldn't have asked for a better location - not only close to the convention centre, the Clarastrasse district has many options for groceries and dining out. Easy distance walk to the Old Town over the middle bridge, and plenty of tram and bus options. (eg. a few stops on Tram 1/2 from Basel SBB train station to get to the hotel). I also loved the amount of storage in the room - plenty of cupboards and shelves to store things. The bed is a flip bed (you can lift it up during the day if you want more space in the room) - comfortable enough for me, but I can understand how others might be bothered by the 'sofa' style mattress. I had a ground floor apartment with a window that opened onto the courtyard - the courtyard could do with some freshening up of style, but it was lovely to have a breeze through the open window. Large sink with 2 shelves for storage underneath and a mirror cabinet - lovely! As an apartment style hotel, the information guide said that cleaning was done weekly - I stayed for 5 days and the towels were changed once during that time. Plenty of lighting options for the room and bed, in-room safe. There was a small cooktop and large fridge with freezer and a coffee maker. My reservation also included breakfast - a great combination of cereals, breads and pastries, cold meats, fruit - lovely! Free wifi was very helpful. There is a large lounge area at reception which includes a piano and a library with books you can read or exchange. 24h reception (as I arrived very late) and luggage storage (so I could wander around after checkout before I had to leave Basel) appreciated.

Very minor things. Take care with the over-bath shower - the bath was quite high so it was a large step to get inside. The chair at the desk was not comfortable or padded for prolonged sitting. I didn't use the in-room kitchen facilities but apart from some coffee pods, I didn't see any tea or sugar supplies. The carpet in the corridor looked dated and permanently stained.
