The hotel is in a good location, with a public transport station a 1-minute walk away, which was the only positive aspect.

The floor in the room was squeaky when walking. The room faced the city, with cafés and clubs directly below that operated until 3:30–4:00 AM on Friday and Saturday. Noise from people standing under the windows, smoking and shouting, made sleeping impossible. There was also constant hissing noise from the heating system pipes, which could not be turned off. Overall, sleeping conditions were very poor. Breakfast was very limited, consisting of boiled eggs, a small selection of cold cuts, butter, jams, oatmeal, and granola.

The location was fantastic. Walking or easy tram ride to many major sites. Lovely 800 year old building.

Not the hotel’s fault, but we were in a city view room in the middle of Advangasse. Our room was right over the festivities and it was loud until 2:30 am. The river view rooms are fantastic!

Lovely hotel in a great city

Location is great. Just about a 10 minute walk to two of the Christmas markets. The hotel is clean, in a lovely spot on the Rhine and has very friendly staff. We would definitely recommend to friends and family. We really liked the continental breakfast. All fresh, ample choice and tasty. Also the team were constantly tidying around the food stations. Attention to detail was excellent. There was a third Xmas market in the same street as hotel but it wasnt an issue but you could hear noise a little even after 11pm.

My pillow wasn't to my liking but it wasnt the hotels fault and I didn't say anything. Our towels were a little thin and not very soft, but its really not something that would put me off staying again.

OMG. Let’s say this room was the WORST of 10 hotels we stayed in for one month European visit. Thank heavens it was one night. Never wd have stayed another. Our room was next to the VERY BRIGHT elevator shaft. So bright we barely slept. Our curtains wdnt totally cover. The room also was hot as hell. Cdnt get window to shaft open. We were miserable.

Staff was super friendly and welcoming. The location was amazing, in combination with the 10 % discount on the Restaurant food it was a no brainer to sit down by the river side and have some good Swiss food 😋 breakfast was also delicious!

Unfortunately there’s no AC (which on a normal day is also not necessary in Switzerland) however on a 34°C day it would’ve been a plus. However there was a fan that gave a little relief 😅

Nice place to stay in Basel, by river, easy access to old town areas.

Great location by the river, with a terrace for beers/dining. Easy 10 minute trip from station, by tram - stop was almost outside the hotel, just couple of minutes walk away. Good evening meal at the restaurant. Nice walk over the bridge to the old town/shopping area. The multi-coloured LED lighting in the shower was something different!

We had a room at the back (opposite side to the river), which overlooked a street with various bars opposite. Thought this might get noisy at night, but didn't really notice it.

The location of the hotel is right across the river, which was spectacular. The hotel and rooms were clean and staff friendly.

Since our room was facing the alley, at night the bar below got very busy and it got very noisy. But again we were there for one day and chose to keep the window open so didn't complain to the staff.

Good value for money

The location of the hotel was great: for those who like walking all attractions are within walking distance; for all the others there's a tram and bus station right next to the hotel. The breakfasts were ok, hot drink are per request, but the staff will always ask if you want some. The room was very clean. Personally I really loved the wooden floors - it gives a nice and cozy feeling.

The provided fan was not enough to cool yourself during a very hot day. There was no kettle or refigerator in the room. We also had some issues with the shower, as the shower knob wouldn't move, but the staff took care of this.

A hotel to remember

Hotel's personality is nice, there are many interest points to remember it. We liked also the staff, the comfortable beds, the free transport card with discounts to several museums. The vicinity of the Rhin River is definitely a plus. Thank you for all!

Bathroom and shower were excellent. Close to lot of food, coffee, trains, buses, tourist places. Migros nearby has very good cheap, quality food for pickup, dine-in. Doner restaurants close by. Pleasant to walk around the river. Was there during Nov end and visited Christmas markets which were at a walking distance. The weather was chilly one day and warm next day. Staff was excellent. Got a Basel card which we used to travel in train and buses.

The floor in the room was squeaking very loud as you walk around. If thats fixed then the room, thou small is just enough for 2 people. Breakfast was all-right nothing great to write about.
