I really enjoyed the design of the room, location is great and staff is so friendly.

The phone in the room is blinking with a green light. And when it’s dark at night, it’s really annoying.

Lovely hotel in a great location with really excellent and friendly staff.

The hotel was lovely, with really friendly and professional staff, clean rooms, and a delicious breakfast. Also, the location is really good, nice and central, parking was easy and subsidized by the hotel, including discounts to museums and on public transport. Really great place to stay in Basel.

There was an event taking place outside until 2am which was a little noisy, but as we were on the fourth floor it wasn't too bad.

Awesome one night stay

The personnel is very welcoming and hospitable, it’s a pleasure to communicate <3 The breakfast was incredibly good! Interrior is modern and stylish, this is a boutique hotel indeed. Location is great, close to the city center and to the public transportation.

Courtyard is smoking spot for the parties in the bar nextdoor, so it’s a bit noisy. Good news: bar closes at 23:00 and earplugs are provided by the hotel.

Beautiful hotel. Perfect localization

Beautiful room & hotel Design & decoration made with very fine taste Quiet room, full of light during the day Perfect localisation Helpful & kind staff Breakfast was delicious.

Booking management might be improved : we were assigned wrong room (standard vs “design signature” we booked). After asking to the staff, they recognized the mistake & said they will offer upgrade as apology… to finally enter in the room we just book (not upgraded, which was still ok but in that case don’t mention upgrading). And on next day, try to make us sign an extra bill for the breakfast… which was also supposed to be included in the price room. I’m sure it’s only mistakes but it should be definitely improved.

Size of the room. Location of the hotel. Stylish with a nice ambiance. Gym nearby included in the rate. Coffee/tea/water station. Basel card. Recommendations. Even the hand soap is worth mentioned 😄

Cool hotel but not worth the cost and would not stay again.

Staff, bar, and restaurant. Some of the design aspects. Truly the staff were wonderful but the place was just okay.

They gave us a disabled room without notice. It felt cold and like a hospital. They shared it was the only room left which is understandable but it didn’t feel worth the cost in general.

Nice boutique hotel in the centre of Basel

The room was very tidy, I appreciated the set-up, it is quite dark near the toilet and shower, so it was nice to have a separate hand mirror to do my make-up with. It's awesome that you have a separate water / coffee station (at no cost) for every floor. It's really easy to get around by tram, and the stop is not far from the hotel.

The noise from the courtyard can be quite bothersome - in the morning there were some soundchecks and the building echoed quite a lot. We were part of the event that took place later on, so were not in our rooms to suffer from the noise, but I assume some other people might not have enjoyed the noise. I also found the breakfast (30 CHF) quite expensive so we did not take it.

Lovely hotel close to old town and the river.

Staff were really helpful, especially with recommendations. The rooms were quirky and spacious. It’s close to the Rhine.

No coffee facilities in the room. Excellent coffee facilities at the end of the corridor, but I’d have preferred something in the room.

Lovely atmosphere, super cool rooms, close to everything!

Beautiful architecture and interior design was supreme! Close to GrosBasel (old town) and close to great cafes for breakfast, and pubs for after dinner.

Staff were helpful when asking about extra pillows or towels etc. Very quick to respond. But I felt did not go out of there way to help with dinner places or sightseeing or general conversation about Basel. Staff mixed up our dinner reservations at their own hotel restaurant - so we never got to sit in their lovely outdoor terrace. They apologized

Great stay - would definitely come back!

Great location and a really cool building with nice, comfortable (if slightly spartan in design) rooms. The restaurant was excellent, and if the weather had cooperated, the outdoor area in the courtyard looked great.

The lighting in the bathrooms was too dim for putting makeup on - had to do it in the bedroom, with a hand mirror.

A central location with nicely designed rooms.

The location has been recently re-designed and refurbished, and it looks very good. Enjoyed the design of the room. Coffee and tea are available on each floor. The reception also boasts a lovely design. The bathroom was large, luminous and particularly well-designed. The location is well-connected to public transport, with many buses and trams right in front of the hotel.

We were unlucky to have a room with windows to the inner courtyard, above the terrace. It was extremely loud at night (terrace heater + general buzz of the bar/restaurant) despite the closed windows and the earplugs. At check-out, a nice gesture was proposed to us in order to make up for this inconvenience, which was appreciated. The pillows and duvet could have been out of natural materials (down, wool, etc.) and not with plastic filling.

Basel can be a pretty expensive city to visit, but this hotel is certainly worth its money. It's brand new and has very stylish, beautiful rooms. I would like to thank also Anastacia at the reception, who gave us the most pleasant welcome after a long day of travel. She also solved a small problem for us, when it was something she didn't have to do. She made our stay even more memorable. I would recommend Volkshaus Basel to every one!
