Convenient location, quality accommodation with friendly, helpful staff.

Very centrally located, an easy walk from the train station. The room was spacious and immaculate with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and everything one would expect in a continental breakfast.

Great location and very comfortable room

The location is right in the pedestrian zone and perfect for visiting the Christmas market.

The only problem was that our room wasn’t ready on time. We had to wait about an hour past the check in time to get situated, but the staff was very kind and helpful.

The location was very good. The staff was very friendly. The hotel lobby was modern and cozy.

The breakfast was very bad with very limited options. There was also no cooked food at breakfast: omlette, bacon or sausages. It was the same bad breakfast everyday. The rooms were awful, very old design and no facilities at all, no solid soap in the bathroom, no shower cap, no nothing. Avoid, so expensive and 0 facilities

Lovely

Bed was comfortable and having two separate blankets so neither of us disturbed the other. The supplied hand-wash and bodywash smelled lovely! Plus there was lots of storage for all our clothes and suitcases.

The hotel door didn't automatically close but the bathroom one did- very annoying. The air conditioning didn't work and the lack of an iron in the room especially as I had so many wrinkled clothes. To be fair, I didn't ask for these issues to be fixed so who knows what would have happened if I had- it was more just the inconvenience of it at the time.

A great choice for central Basel

The location is perfect- steps away from tram stops, right in the middle of the old town. The room with the aircon on was very quiet despite a big street event around the corner. The aircon worked very well and the bathroom was lovely.

We felt the room would benefit from privacy blinds that let in light as there are windows in the building immediately opposite that directly look in to it.

Familiar Motel One design for room and shared lounge / breakfast space. Room air conditioning appreciated during heatwave conditions. Slept under the cover instead of on top of it, for a change.

Everything about our stay at Motel One was perfect - from the customer service check in to the location which is great for walking to stores, restaurants, etc. and the breakfast bar was great. Wonderful stay here, we would highly recommend.

Excellent stay exceeding all expectations.

This motel, particularly room, breakfast and location, were excellent and exceeded our expectations. We look forward to booking with this chain of hotels in the future. The Basel card was an excellent bonus as we used the trams to visit attractions and explore areas of the city that were further out from the centre.

Preferred to sit at the table for breakfast rather than the seating in the bar area but that's just personal choice.

Doesn't get much better than the location. Staff are available 24/7 and incredibly friendly and polite

Bar prices are bit expensive but it's Switzerland so to be expected. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever
