The staff were excellent, a young woman on her first day handled my early arrival very well. We were very well looked after for the Kainjoo event. Dinner was superb and the hotel provided me with a packed lunch as I was leaving too early for breakfast. They went above and beyond

The bathroom was small. I am not a big person so it wasn't a real problem for me but for a larger person it may be a consideration

Location is great. We had our breakfast at hotel's cafe. İt was delicious. The room was very comfortable, and the hotel gave a book for all the guests. It was a great compliment.

The breakfast room and the meal were excellent. There was attention to detail in my room. Great location and very clean and well maintained. Very quiet.

My room was quite small with no shelving and difficult to find a spot for my suitcase.

Very nice staff, very comfortable room. Beds comfy. Restaurant on site if you need it. Staff attentative and willing to help when needed.

Just a little bit of an uphill walk balk from main markets, but all in all not too bad and pretty close. Tram access is free which was a nice bonus.

It is fine, but as you would expect in basil very expensive for what we got

The hotel is fine. It was very clean. The location was good. My friend had a room in the building of reception and it was quite nice. My room was in the other section and I felt not as good value. The beds were not very comfortable, and the room was large but basic

I think reception could’ve been friendlier. They could have provided water and glasses in the rooms. The beds need to be updated as they seem too soft. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the linens were nice.

Lovely hotel

All was better then I’ve expected. Very big room, comfortable and very clean. Water, coffee and tea for free. Beautiful garden with christmas decorations. Breakfast was good, served also gluten free bread. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definetely recommend and stay again. Close to center, restaurants, bars and a beautiful christmas market.

Would have been nice to have a place to put the suitcase instead of opening it on the floor. To get to my room I had to climb stairs after the lift. Was not a big deal with my cabin size suitcase.

Very smart, good position and all the trimmings.

The hotel is very smart (probably smarter than where we usually stay) and in a very good position, just up the hill from the square and decorated ready for Christmas. Access is good and trams pass by just outside the hotel. We had a very spacious room overlooking the front of the hotel. We had a sort of sitting room as well as a bedroom and a modern bathroom. The bathroom was a good size with all the trimmings including robes etc. All staff were very helpful and it was nice to have a bar in the evening. Basel is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but the price we paid was very reasonable for what we got. The Basel tourist card given by the hotel is a definite advantage with half price admission and free travel!

Comfortable spot with character in an unbeatable Old Town location.

- Great location, easy to reach via public transit (the tram) from the train station. It was a short walk down the hill to virtually all the museums and sights I wanted to see in town. - Room was very comfortable for sleeping, lounging around and even doing some remote work. Liked having the SET Cafe across the street for lunch. - In-house laundry service was very helpful since I was in the middle of a two-week trip. - Very good breakfast (was worth the fee).

Top notch hotel in the heart of historic Basel

Very quirky rooms in a beautiful and historic building. Delicious breakfast and perfect location. The staff was super helpful in sorting out an issue we had with our booking (booked the same room twice by mistake). We’ll come back!

Loved staying here. Ideal location to see Basel. Tram 3 stops just outside the door. Felt like an oasis of calm. Breakfast was excellent- best croissants ever! Appreciated the upgrade. Thank you and well done.

Basil for the 1st time

Location was great, hotel was clean and tidy. Staff were helpful and polite. Facilties were okay in the room and it was clean and simple. Coffee machine was a lovely addition.

Felt the price was quite high considering some kind of food package wasn't included.

Nice hotel well located

Charming boutique hotel very well located in the city center, shops and restaurants. The staff is very helpful and the breakfasts are good and varied. The family room has a good measure.

The garage/parking is essential as it is impossible to park in the street but expensive and 5-7 min from the hotel on foot. The espace between cars is tight. Family room: my 13-year-old daughter had a supletory bed which was not really stable and fell a couple of times. She ended up sleeping in the sofa-bed with her two young brothers, very low positioned on the floor.

Beware of staff they try to stell money

Nothing,the receptionist are totally unprofessional and trying to scam customer by putting wrong bill. And keeping that money in there pocket. The receptionist put extra 130 euros without informing us and she thought that we will not notice. When we notice it asked for the details where we spent this 130 check resturant or CCTV camera. She start shaking her lie get caught and then she prepared another receipt. Second in morning no one was at reception and we have to screem to search so that some one can open the door. It was very painful we bang the bell multiple times and search all rooms for help but it was really painful to see that such a good hotel have such an unprofessional staff in reception.

Perfect studio style room close to centre

Very clean, spacious modern room (felt like a small studio) with nice decor, cleverly designed

The shower head didn't stay fixed in position and slid down and into the corner so had to be held which was a slight bother. Also, the Nespresso machine on button was impossible to find so some instructions would have helped. Decaf pods or English breakfast tea bags would have been great but not a big deal just a preference. The biscuits and chocolates were presented as being gratuitous but were on the bar menu so luckily we checked.
