We had a lovely relaxed stay, comfortable, attentive staff and great location. Highly recommend.

We had one night in Basel. We walked to hotel from the train station, on arrival we were offered a welcome drink which we preferred to defer until later. The room was really comfortable with everything we needed, even a record player! The hotel is just round the corner from the old town, in the evening we walked to a nearby restaurant. In the morning we had an early flight so we opted for a small breakfast of muesli, croissants and bread with coffee which was substantial for us. All the staff are friendly and attentive. I'd recommend staying here, hotel is really comfortable and in a good location.

Great place to stay

Location is 10min walk from station. Staff is really healthful and friendly. They were so kind to keep my products in the fridge. The room is equipped with everything you need.

It was cold for me in beg of January despite the fact that the staff did their best and made heating at maximum.

Ethical, friendly and clean - Lovely for a short stay

Staff were friendly and really helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. Though not huge, the garden was a nice addition and the welcome drink was a nice touch. Neighbourhood was good-we felt safe and used the public transport. The business of the hotel has a charitable arm (not for profit?) so it felt good to use their service knowing they’re also doing some good.

Excellent hotel

Prime location for exploring Basel, easy reach from Basel main station bus 30 and one stop you will be right infront of the hotel. Good base to walk to the oldtown or using tram to explore any part of city with Basel card included. The warm welcome of staff and flexibility to leave your luggage before your check in or after you check out. We even luckily got the room avalaible couple hours early, refresh and out exploring the city.

The shower room a bit small, I guess just in and out, you have to move carefully.

The location was perfect for exploring Basel. Our brief pre-river cruise stay exceeded our expectations. The staff was very pleasant and the room was spotless. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Thank you for our stay!

This hotel is magic. Staff was amongst the friendliest we have ever encountered. Allowed us to check in early (they thought the room wasn’t ready but she went and checked and it was!) free welcome drink and free Basel travel card (allowed you to use public transport free!). Free coffee and tea in the afternoon as well. Shower was amazing and bed was comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if we travel to Basel.

Perfect for a short stay, friendly staff and close to vages and transport.

Friendly staff close to transport and shops. The Basel travel card- welcome drink and lovely garden area. It is perfect for one or two nights. Also voucher for half price pizza at the Italian restaurant is helpful as food prices are so high in switzerland.

The pillows were tiny square pillows we would normally use for decoration - so request extra pillows.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location near restaurants and the scenic old town. Would have liked to have had more time to explore. Complimentary drink snd snack in the evening was appreciated. View of the garden was relaxing.

A breakfast for royalty in a peaceful, cool garden

The staff were superb. We want to particularly thank Samuel who served us our complimentary drink at the bar and was an interesting chap who told us a little about Swiss life. The record player in the room made us smile, and though we didn't use it, it was a unique feature, a nice touch. We opted for breakfast in the gorgeous peaceful garden. It was the most glorious variety of food and drink - by far the best we have experienced around the world!

We struggled with the plug. It wasn't very secure in the wall!

Charming garden and thoughtful extras, but the room comfort and accuracy could be improved.

The welcome drink and snack in the beautiful garden were a lovely touch, and the free city tickets were a pleasant surprise. The courtyard garden was very nice.

The room felt outdated, very hot during the summer night, and the double bed as well as the overall space were quite small. The photos online did not fully match the reality.

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, superb breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and found the hotel very close to everything we wanted to visit.

Although the room was very comfortable and clean, my only comment was the bathroom was really small. However the provision of clean bathrobes and slippers certainly made up for this.

I felt lucky with my choice

It has a wonderful location, with friendly staff, they make you feel special from the first entrance. you say I'm glad I came. The hotel, which is already good so far, offers a free roaming pass, a discounted pass to many places and a map of the city without you having to ask. All this is marvellous.

The room and the bed were extremely comfortable. It was also very quiet. They were able to check us in and let us into our rooms, even though it was still morning. Which was a very welcome surprise, since we had just arrived from our Viking River Cruise and wanted to rest before we ventured into the city.

Very convenient to sights with free bus transportation all around Basel

Breakfast was wonderful and the people making and serving the breakfast were very great. If you fly into Basel Airport take the free bus to SBB railroad station. When you walk out of the station go leftt to the closest bus stop for bus line 30. Also free. In one stop it takes you right in front of the hotel!!!!
