Great location, great staying

Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was great and full of options. Rooms are well insulated, and you don't hear any noise. Location is very central. Overall, we had a great staying.

Rooms were nice but needed a little bit of maintenance. The hotel has a great design, and it is well thought out. However, some items are dated and need maintenance.

Staff were super helpful and friendly. Loved the location, uniqueness of the room, common beverage space, and great shower. Attached restaurant was good too.

The only negative was the parking were super tight spaces but elevators took you right up into the hotel which was nice.

Ok if you just need a bed for a few hours

Location

Really poor design. Front door overhangs the door handle by so far that the end of the door crushes your foot. So wear boots if you arrive late and have to open the door with a key code, because reception goes home quite early. Once inside (again at night with no staff present) it is really hard to see where the rooms are, eventually you will find some small numbers at the end of the lobby, which you will probably work out faster than me,if you are young and alert, are room numbers. Once in the room you actually have to move the bedside table to get at the mains electricity to charge your phone. There will be an empty carafe with no water in it and 2 glasses.

It was a short but great stay.

Ruben at reception was of excellent assistance and full of information. He even delivered an extra floatie (wickelfisch) for our Rhine River float. The breakfast buffet was excellent as well.

Comfortable Basel city centre stay

Great location, we liked the beds and linen on it, sleeping ‘court-facing’ was very quiet, well equipped (bath)room and the coffee/water bar in the hallway is a nice feature. Parking was super convenient below the Hotel, we took our small car but if you can properly drive you can also fit in a smaller SUV or station wagon. People at the reception were also very helpful.

Room was very warm, while only 23C outside. Dyson fan is a nice feature but doesnt solve this really.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They offered free water bottles for your day out and good advice on the area.

Fantastic stay!

What a gem! We loved our stay for Eurovision. The staff were exceptional and the room was really big. The bar is great and breakfast is impressive. We will return for sure! Such a positive place to stay. Great location, too!

Excellent experience

The design of the hotel was inspiring in general. Interior design was very well tought, including branding. From towels to common spaces everything was tasty. Breakfast was excellent, there was cava, i mean!.. Also the staff was hospitable and very helpfull. Great place to stay!

Lovely hotel with dressing

Lovely hotel. Staff very attentive! Liked the free mini bar but was not replenished. Our suite had a lot of room and was very swanky. Had dressing had dressing gowns and slippers. TV channels had lots of selection.

Paid a fee. Was told then by hotel that they had misquoted and tried to charge more. Had to complain to Booking to keep the rate. Bathroom had a glass wall so if staying with friends this could be awkward. The coffee machine overfill a cup it you press large cup. Beds were a bit uncomfortable.

Welcoming design hotel in central Basel

Lovely modern design hotel in an excellent location in Basel, quiet but handy for both the old town and the train station. 2 minutes walk from a tram stop, which is very useful as you can use the Basel card that the hotel give you for free public transport within the city as well as discounts in museums. The hotel is a 2 mins walk from the Kunstmuseum which is a must-see. We were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a design premium room on the 5th floor. There was also a bottle of complimentary chilled champagne waiting in the room for us. The room was spacious with a massive bathroom, including a bath and a fabulous walk-in shower with l'Occitane toiletries, tv, seating area and a separate toilet. Outside the room in the corridor was a shared refreshments station with free fruit, tea & kettle, coffee maker and still or sparkling water from a chilled tap. There were only a few other rooms on our floor and we didn't see or hear any-one else using the drinks during our stay, so it wasn't an issue that it was not in our room. The buffet breakfast was included in our room rate. I'm not usually a big fan of hotel buffets, but this one was truly excellent quality and very good value, we hardly needed to eat lunch during our stay - which is useful in expensive Switzerland! As well as the usual bread, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, boiled eggs, & sausages, there was the option to make your own waffles and use an automated scrambled egg maker (very fun gadget!). There were also more local Swiss options such as cheeses and cold meats. The breakfast is held in the fashionable bar/restaurant area, which in the daytime seems to be popular for business meetings and in the evening was always busy with well-heeled locals for drinks. We really enjoyed our visit to Basel and would definitely stay at Nomad again. Thank you to all the staff who made us feel so welcome.

The room did get quite warm as it is all concrete, but there was a small window we could open to get fresh air and cool down which was a pleasant surprise, UK hotels would never have an actual window on the 5th floor. The bath/shower is behind a thick curtain in the room, which is a bit odd but we got used to it. The toilet is separate and behind a proper door, so that wasn't an issue. The pillow was quite flat and we would have liked an extra pillow each, but the bed was otherwise comfortable.

Perfect, unique home base in Basel

This is a lovely boutique hotel in an excellent location with stellar staff. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The daily breakfast buffet has so many choices and I ate dinner in the restaurant as well. The teriyaki salmon was perfect! My room was comfortable and nicely decorated, and I enjoyed using the library to journal and relax. All of the staff I interacted with were professional, helpful, warm, and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.

Beds so soft, towels rough like sand paper. Food was only okay and overall, the room just felt really rundown.

Best breakfast in Basel

Good central location, between historic heart of the city and the main railway station. Very happening restaurant on the ground floor but the bedrooms are quiet. You get a free pass on local transport in the price of your accommodation. Special mention should be made of the breakfast which is excellent, with an impressive range of continental provisions and the unique self serve scrambled egg machine! Staff are all charming and helpful.

Rooms aren't that impressive considering the price, but excellent comfy bed, linens and bathroom compensate, the latter with Occitane products. Free coffee/tea station in the lobby area.

Absolutely fantastic hotel design, kindest staff, convenient location, l'occitane as a cosmetics, comfy bed, great restaurant, free snacks and coffee, they even offer waterproof bags for swimming with. One of the best hotels we stayed in.

Architectural details in the hotel are wonderful.The chosen objects, the materials, colors, textures, gestures, the tiny messages all came from an emotional intelligence. When all this is combined with helpful, friendly, polite staff and with a good service, the result is beyond perfect.

Great hotel - comfortable, well located and the staff were super helpful.

The room was very comfortable, and they had accommodated my request non-allergenic bedding. The breakfast was included and had a good range of options. The staff were exceptional - they were all extremely helpful with ideas of what to do in Basel, and very helpful in helping us sort out some logistical issues. We also received Basel cards which allowed free travel on the trams.

Like most European hotels, the room tended to be warmer than I prefer, but we could open the window to cool the room.

Nice, modern hotel with great staff

Comfortable bed, great bathroom, very clean. It was nice to have 2 comfy chairs. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.

The linen was clean but felt a bit odd. Also odd was that with a modern hotel like this didn't have convenient charging points in the bedroom like USB ports.
