The location was perfect for the Christmas markets. The tram stop is a few feet from the hotel entrance, which made things even easier traveling kids and a senior person.

the different floor elevations on the 2nd floor. You had to carry your luggage up and down 5 steps to access elevators.

A great city to visit.

Fantastic location close to the old town and Rhine River. The breakfasts were wonderful. Close to fine restaurants . The toy museum was wonderful .

Disappointing

The hotel is conveniently located between the train station and the city center. The staff is friendly, but slow. We got a spacious room that had all required amenities, including an iron, which is rare.

Unfortunately, being spacious overall is the only good point about the room. The main room has a lot of space, but the bathroom is tiny. Moreover, the shower cabin is leaking so much, that you have to stand in a puddle. It isn't warm enough in the room and the air conditioner is so loud it isn't possible to leave it at night. Additionally, the soundproofing is non-existent. We heard everyone around us, especially a family with a small and loud child. In addition, I didn't personally like the pillows, so I had a poor sleep there

Cozy and Convenient

Conveniently close to everything - transportation, shopping, resto/bar, Old Town. Tram station at the front, Bus and a few meters to Basel Central Station. And since Basel is not flat, expect a little elevation but manageable especially from hotel to BCS with a luggage. Pity that we don't have enough time to explore the hotel but would definitely stay here if am back.

Room views its not as we expected rooms windows looking rooms was uncomfortable Even they bring choclate there were no tea or coffee in the room not acceptable at this stage i have to ask why there were coffee machine in my room. Double bed wasnt double it was two beds next eachotber when you go middle it slides to sides there are better ways to make double bed

I missed a luggage stand in the room. I would have loved to be able to book for a parking space in the hotel. There were none left when I arrived and I had to park in the public parking (it is less reassuring for the content of the car).

The stay experience was well below expectations

Easy check in ,well received . The room was Basic.

Im used to Redisson Blu properties being upmarket.This property looked washed out. The room was so basic ,old and dreary.There should have been two transparent curtains ,there was only one . The reclining chair made a harsh squeaky noise ,should have been replaced months ago. The bathroom does not have shower hook ,right outside the shower. There was insufficient cupboard space for husband & wife to set out their clothing. The fridge did not have sufficient cooling ,to to keep the diabetic insulin in a cool environment.This fridge is old & delapitated. Should be replaced immediately. I was allocated room 419.

The hotel could be nice, but the service has to be improved.

The pool is great, the breakfast is fantastic and the personnel at the breakfast area is very friendly. The rooms are nicely clean and the beds are very good.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times because of the pool and great breakfast and I have realised that the reception personnel is mostly unfriendly, when the personnel at the restaurant is very friendly and helpful. This time we got wrong information on the breakfast time, the phone didn’t work, there was no way to contact the reception by phone shortly after midnight (the one knob dial didn’t work) and when I went down, there was nobody. The drain in the shower almost didn’t work, so we were obliged to stop the showers in the middle in order to avoid the bathroom from flooding. The hotel information on the TV didn’t function, so to confirm that the breakfast really goes until 11 o’clock on Sunday, contrary to the information we got (after asking) at the reception on our arrival, the only way to assure that we don’t arrive too late for the breakfast, was to wake up earlier. Basically it is useless to write all this, because I know already that I will get a standard answer about how sorry the hotel is about the inconveniences, but nothing will change. This time I was seriously disappointed about the service and found that the overall stay was not worth the price.

Everything was good

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and it was an amazing experience from the moment we arrived. The check-in process was very simple and easy. The staff at the front desk were very helpful and attentive. The rooms are spacious and have good air conditioning. The housekeeping team does a great job keeping everything clean. The hotel’s location in the city center makes food and transportation very easy to access. The swimming pool is clean and convenient, and the gym is well-equipped. Overall, we definitely plan to come back next time, and I highly recommend this hotel!

Housekeeping missed cleaning our room twice and we went those days with no replenishment or tidy. I’m also certain house keeping kept my shampoo, which I came back to claim but no one could locate . I stay in hotels often and the few times I’ve left something , I can come back and the item is in lost of found. While I take responsibility for leaving an item behind , it’s dishonest to keep something that isn’t yours.

Great stay

For a "chain" hotel this absolutely met all my expectations. Hey the room may not have been as quaint or as well decorated as other smaller hotels, but it was large, functional and as pictured. The breakfast was excellent and staff very helpful. Location is great - right next to a tram line down or walking distance to lots of attractions.

A very bad experience

My family and I recently stayed at the Blue Radisson in a junior suite for one night with our one-year-old twin daughters. While the hotel has some positive aspects, our overall experience was extremely disappointing. On the positive side, the location of the hotel is excellent, as it is close to everything and just one tram stop away from the zoo. Additionally, the staff in the restaurant and at breakfast were very friendly, nice, and helpful, which we appreciated during our stay. Unfortunately, the positives were overshadowed by several significant issues. We were appalled by the lack of cleanliness and overall state of the room. There was a disgusting odor emanating from the bathroom pipes, and the room itself had debris like wood and paper on the floor (see photos). Several items in the room were broken, including a large hole in the floor and broken wooden panels. There were coffee stains on the wall, which were clearly not cleaned and highlighted the room's overall dirtiness. Our daughters crawled around the room, and their bodysuits ended up with brown marks that disgusted us (see photos). These were not food stains but something they picked up from the dirty floor. Additionally, there were no slippers provided in the room for the swimming pool, which was an inconvenience. This was another example of the hotel failing to meet the standard we expected from a four-star establishment. We had requested baby cots from the hotel, and they assured us they had them available. However, if I had known what they would provide, I would have brought our own. One of the baby cots was broken, with foam coming out of the frame. I found one of my babies with foam in her mouth in the morning. At the restaurant, we found the high chairs to be in need of repair, as the straps to secure the babies were broken, which made them unsafe. This was concerning as our daughter almost fell out of the chair.

Room cleaning & restocking poor this time. Bottles of water replenished after a call to reception, but coffee wasn’t. The floor not vacuumed as gritty underfoot, my travel cup & tea bags were thrown away by housekeeping. No English TV channels anymore, just news.
