Another pleasant stay!

Great location, stunning breakfast room with river views, beautiful decor, comfortable and quiet spaces, coffee machines and water on each floor for a convenient morning cofffe and chocolate, very nice toiletries. Staff are attentive and very welcoming - I even got a "welcome back" card in my room, thank you! I look forward to staying again soon!

The guest lounge could be more atmospheric - just dim the lights a little, but that is a minor detail!

Exceptionally polite staff and excellent location, some serious issues yet.

The location of the hotel is amazing. You can go to many places on foot and it's a one minute walk to a tram and bus stop. The staff is extremely kind and helpful in anything you might need and in any time.

Unfortunately there is a huge problem with soundproofing of the rooms. You hear EVERYTHING from other rooms from the vibration of a phone to the snoring of another person. The 2nd night of my stay I woke up from the snoring and sounds of the next room and I was never able to fall back asleep. Room cleaning starts really early and you can hear it no matter the point of the floor they are at as floors are really old. Lastly the breakfast was okay, but towards the end one of the staff members started collecting the cheese to put it back without any equipment or gloves on but with their bare hands. That's why I did not have breakfast there the second day.

Perfect stay in the center of Basel!

Friendly staff, clean room, central location, but very quiet at night. No coffee, tea and water in the room, but readily available on the floor. Convenient check-out at 12!

Maybe a coffee machine in the room would make the whole experience perfect. But the availability on the floor is covering for this. The floors are a bit creaky, but they give a certain charm to the rooms. Once just has to take the shoes off in the room!

Great hotel right on the River, wonderful experience

Location is fabulous. They have a small Christmas market right Outside their door. Staff were very helpful and friendly, room And bed was very comfortable. We would stay here again.

Room with a View!

I love the single rooms with a balcony on the top floor. The views of the Rhein and Grossbasel couldn't be better! Particularly during Herbstmesse, it's the perfect spot to be. Disappointing

Breakfast was good and there were plenty of choices along with champagne as an optional beverage. Service at breakfast was also very attentive. Also, our room was kept very clean and the bathroom was exceptionally large.

When we checked in, no one helped us lift up our bags up the flight of steps, no one told us what the breakfast hours were and then, on top of that, our room had no heat. When we checked out, they charged us for a breakfast the first day when we were not informed of the breakfast hours and therefore missed it. We were told it could not be refunded because we used a third party booking company. Thanks to Booking.com, we were able to get a refund of that charge. We were also told after the fact that if we wanted "extra heat" in our room, we needed to ask for a space heater!

Great property - well laid out room (no fridge). Extremely comfortable and modern. Excellent view of the river. Tram was a 2 minute walk. We ate at the outdoor restaurant on one evening g and the food was excellent and service outstanding.

Perfect location, amazing breakfast, very clean, kind and helpful staff. The decor is very chic and cool, not at all boring or obvious.

Could have been amazing- if not for the....

The location was excellent. The breakfast was very nice. I appreciated the hotel providing a "fish bag" so we could swim in the river.

No AIR-CONDITIONING! It was like sleeping in a Sauna! I'm tired of the excuses for this (GOV Regulation etc). Switzerland is a DIRECT democracy - if you want to change a law you only need to collect some signatures and you can force a vote. Buying a Dyson Air blade is 100% not satisfactory. Also, I booked a river view room and was given a city room.... The photos should not display the river view if you are selecting a city view room..

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Incredible location right on the river.

Incredible location overlooking the Rhein River. Beautiful big room, everything very clean and tidy. Great facilities. They provide a waterproof bag so you can float down the river.

No air con (common in Switzerland) so in peak summer it was incredibly hot in the room at night. The staff were great and provided a second fan for us which worked wonders the second night.

Location was very convenient for public transport and views v pleasant Plenty of restaurants nearby Bathroom and amenities were great Fantastic coffee at breakfast and good water provision without plastic bottles .

Flooring was terrible - creaky on each step meant disturbing partner at night . Lighting was too dim Plug point access not in convenient location Couldn't find any english speaking channels despite there being over 50+ channels

Well-located for shops and transport links. The river view rooms are great because of the seating area on the veranda.

The single room is quite narrow so if you intend to stay for 3 nights or more then probably best to get a double-room.

Classy, unique understated hotel. Best I’ve found in Basel. I love it!

Prime position by the river . I have also previously used the buzzy riverside restaurant in the summer which is excellent. Great vibe, classy understated decor , nice individual touches like coffee/ water station with sparkling and still on first floor.

Excellent simple continental breakfast which suited me just fine. Great fresh breads nice small selection of meats/ cheeses. If you are a Brit or from the US and expect a vast selection of hot foods you will be out of luck. Pillows are luxurious but very very soft , might be nice to offer a second spare pillow in each room.
