Functional business hotel with smelly bathroom leak and friction with payments.

Great welcome from Sven at the front desk. Friendly, welcoming, gave us our Basel Card and told us how to get around and see the sights of this lovely city.

There was a leak out of the floor in the bathroom that smelled of sewage. We called for help and were given towels to mop it up. There was an issue with charges at the check out. Without telling us, they added an "incremental hold" of approx 100 CHF on our credit card when we paid the 20 CHF city/tourist tax. We had to e-mail them over several days to ask what was going on. Unnecessary friction I have not had at any other hotel.

Very comfortable bed, wonderful bathroom and shower, very quiet.

While the room was very comfortable, it was very dark especially in one corner of the room, where it would have been nice to lounge on couch and read .... but no light!

Best Staff, so close to Baloise Sessions

Amazing staff. Each person we encountered went above & beyond. We spent 1 night since we had a concert at Baloise Sessions which was right across the street. I asked for a print out to be placed in our room upon arrival and it was there for us. See photo 😆. Breakfast was really good, staff member brought me 2 cappuccino. 2 in a row is unusual, but she did so with a smile. Very polite staff at the entire property. Very helpful also with any questions.

Calm quiet & so comfortable

We loved this hotel, very friendly & helpful staff. The room was superb and the bed & pillows so so comfortable disappointed we only stayed 2 nights. Only ten minutes to the river with a free concert on the Saturday night, Also some great restaurants nearby. We’d happily stay again and can recommend this hotel especially if going on a cruise down the Rhine as the dock is a 20 minute walk or a 5 minute taxi away.

Excellent breakfast , Great location with walking distance to the centre and tram services opposite the hotel. Welcoming staff. Club room access was an extra bonus offering refreshments and a few snacks and sweets. Basel card was great with half price of admission to places like the zoo and free public transport

Upon cleaning the number of bath towels left were incorrect but this was quickly resolved. Having Lock on the bathroom door would be a good addition

2 star hotel for the price of a 5 star

Location was perfect for art basel

Bedroom is very bad, cleaning service was horrible they wouldn’t remove dirty glasses or towels on the floor. Minibar was extremely poor and never replaced. Bathroom has no windows or good ventilation so it is always extremely humid. The hotel is very very expensive for what it is It feels like a 2 star hotel for the price of a 5 star hotel Never going back again

Very comfortable stay and met my expectations.

The location was excellent because it was right next to the Congress center where my conference happened - Wordcamp. and it had restaurants nearby which was very helpful for my team dinner. Also, it had good breakfast and an excellent Gym which helped me a lot during my stay. Room was neat and clean and had everything i needed. Plus I got a good room where sun light was falling through the windows which was excellent.

Overall, comfortable overnight stay in a lovely city.

Independently booked a night in preparation for a Viking Cruise with our friends. There was a Viking desk that just happened to be there which was helpful to find our dock. It seems Viking uses this hotel for the pre cruise package. Comfortable bed and nice bar/ lounge downstairs. They held our luggage since our room was not ready. Concierge was helpful and quite friendly. It is close to the Convention Center and Sbahn stop.

It was a little expensive. We did not get the breakfast at the hotel but found cappuccinos and pastries etc. close by for much less.

Good size room, convenient to free transit and walking distance to restaurants, train and old town.

Very nice room and well-functional bathroom. The room was spacious, bed was comfortable and everything functioned and was easy to use. Just a few steps from the local trolley that's free with hotel-provided City Card.

View was somewhat limited though a "port hole" style window and view as of convention center; interesting architecture, but not a splendid city view.

Location was great for Morgestraich - just a 10 minute walk. Room was a good size.

I did not have breakfast as CHF 40 is too expensive for my needs. The armchair is not very comfortable for a evening in.

just what you would expect from a Marriott hotel. It's clean, the bedroom facilities are great. The size is great. The overall comfort is great. Access to everything is easy. Staff are exceptional in knowledge and helpfulness.

A great Marriott in good location.

The room was very spacious and quiet. We would have preferred a non-connecting room as for a short time we could hear someone talking on their phone! The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean with a great shower. Location is in smaller Basel so 20 minute walk to old town.

On our second day we took a slow day and did not out into Basel until 2pm. When we returned our room had not been serviced (?).
