Convenient and classic style.

Great location next to train station, trams and buses and close to old quarter of Basel for sightseeing. Room comfortable with coffee machine and complimentary water and fridge. Nice touch. Breakfast ok. Staff helpful and friendly. Clsssic old style of building very nice.

Breskfast was ok but hot option was luke warm which is a shame otherwise would have been good.

Great spacious room, well equipped with a lovey shower, double sink and separate toilet

Although it’s a great location, my room on the first floor was just above the train station’s main tram terminus. The windows did little to filter out people’s conversations and tram bells.

The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired; the housekeeping staff were very unreliable, the furniture is rather old, and the room is poorly lit

Perfect location but noisy

The location was perfect but it means it's very noisy there's a tram station right outside and the train station too. The room was spacious and clean. The fridge smelt of sour milk. They provide a free tram card but noone has to show tram tickets so I'm guessing there free to travel on anyway. Only 1 very soft pillow and no kettle, but was provided with one when asked. No mugs just expresso cups. There's free expresso, shower gel, hand wash, toilet rolls, towels, bedding. We never ate in hotel we went to Migros shop in train station for breakfast and had a Vietnamese for tea (Mums Kitchen) highly recommend. Hotel perfect for train station and tram stop both literally 2mins walk away.

No extra pillow, no tea making facilities. Noisy windows.

It was a great place to spend the night before traveling on to Zermatt.

It was very close to the train station. We were easily able to walk our luggage to the station. The breakfast was very nice for the added fee.

Easy to get to from the Basel Airport and steps away from the train/tram station. The hotel transportation cards were a treat!!!

Beautiful Basel

We were upgraded to a junior suite which is situated on the corner of the hotel with a balcony that overlooked the park. The room was very lovely and heaps of room. The hotel is only a 2 minute walk from the train station and a slightly longer walk into the old town centre. Breakfast that was included in the room price was good value and the who who's board of famous people that have stayed at the hotel is very interesting. The front desk was very helpful in giving us great directions so we could visit the Basel Car Museum - which is worth a look if you are into classic cars.

Super convenient for an overnight stay

We liked the friendly efficient check-in, the Basel cards which gave us free tram rides to the old town, and the convenient location close to the railway station. Also appreciated the late checkout time.

Nothing. Our room was at the front so there was a bit of noise from the trams late evening but it died down after 11pm.

Pleasure to meet your kind and helping team at the hotel.

Great experience. Far better than we had in Mulhouse on our stop to Colmar. Basel and this hotel in contrast were wonderfully organized and welcoming. Only problem that i had was the noise of the trams right under our window but not enough to hinder our sleep after a tiring day of exploring the city.

It was okay but I would choose a different place next time.

The location was good for travel. The room and bath were clean and spacious. The clerk who checked us in was helpful and nice.

The view was terrible but not much can be done about that. The very noisy elevator that was on the other side of the wall kept us up all night both nights. We got charged over $60 for 2 very low quality breakfasts. We had to sign 2 papers stating that the hotel isn’t liable if our things get stollen. We just kept the do not disturb sign on the door.

Great place to stay

Location was excellent. A hop, skip and jump to the SBBF train station. Tram stop right outside. Staff were really helpful-gave us instructions on which trams to catch. Breakfast was excellent.

Nothing really. Although it is located beside a tram station, noise was minimal because of the double glazed windows.

A very pleasant stay, well situated for transportation and access to the city.

Located right next to the train station (which can be a mixed blessing but in this case was a bonus). Easy walking distance to the charming part of town, the hotel was welcoming, clean, efficient and comfortable. The rooms are quiet and modern, but the common areas retain much of their classic style. Breakfast was very good and plentiful.

Perfect!

We arrived very early, but we were still able to check into our room, and we also had the opportunity to have breakfast at the hotel that day. All the staff were very nice and helpful throughout. The room was perfectly clean and everything was to our satisfaction!

Nice hotel in great location, but beware of the temperature in your room!

Great location, solid old-school attractive interior, clean comfortable room, good reliable fast WiFi, mostly pleasant helpful staff.

If you prefer a cool bedroom, beware! The first night, despite the "cooling" system being on full, the temperature started at 25.5°C, and ended up >27°C - we slept badly, and woke up feeling dried out. The next day, having left the windows wide open all day, the temperature was down to 20°C (great!) but the centrally-controlled radiator in the room was hot - and the staff were unable to turn it off. This night was better, but we still woke up hot and dehydrated. (Note: this is also a minor downside of the great central location - it's too noisy, being right next to the busy central tram station, to leave your windows open all night.) Also, minor nitpick: the in-room Nespresso coffee tasted awful - undrinkable. But luckily there are lots of decent coffee spots nearby!

I do not like the cover on the floor, I'm allergic to this synthetic floor cover and I was afraid to touch it (I had a feeling that it was not properly clean), I did not like the noise of the air conditioner, It was disturbing during the night

I did enjoy staying there; I would return.

The location was great. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very courteous and helpful. I was surprised there was no assistance to help with luggage up the entrance stairs, or a ramp. My father is elderly, and although we are capable people, it was a bit surprising at such an elegant hotel, conscientious in that respect was lacking. Especially when we each had two large suitcases.

The lighting was tricky in the rooms. Some of the outlets did not receive the grounded electrical adapters.
