Excellent overnight stay for train travellers.

Excellent location right by the railway station and breakfast served in time for an early train the next morning. Very spacious room and quiet apart from the soft deep rumbling of trams in the early morning. Excellent food hall nearby offering treats from all over the world - we chose a delicious Palestinian dinner.

The overall experience was very good. I appreciated the wooden floor in the room.

The room was very spacious and I appreciated a lot the wooden floor. The location was great as it was just in front of the train station. I did not have any breakfast, as I left very early in the morning.

Although my room was facing the inner court yard, I could slightly feel the vibrations of the trams passing. However it did not affect my sleep.

Perfect stay in Basel, awesome location

Large comfortable room with a great shower. Staff was friendly and helpful. Spacious lobby and bar area. Big elevator for easy access to rooms and also a large staircase. Across the plaza from the main train station for easy access. Trams outside front door for easy rides anywhere in Basel (the hotel gave us cards for unlimited transit; Google Maps gave perfect directions) Three minute tram ride to the old town and the Christmas Markets.

Nice hotel in a good location, but not for light sleepers

Convenient central location, friendly staff, good breakfast

The location right by the main tram hub was a little annoying as you could clearly hear the trams every time they came and went. Some even made the decor in the room shake slightly. If you’re a light sleeper this could be troublesome. The door to the bathroom was a glass sliding door that didn’t give any privacy whatsoever

Location to station was good. Staff were helpful and it was possible to walk into old town and convenient to trams. Nice and clean

Advertised on bookings.com it had a fitness centre , it does not. It has an arrangement at a nearby gym that you need to pay for. No in room fridge for those needing one.

Bed was really uncomfortable - mattresses badly "dented". A lot of noise from outside because of proximity to service yard / roads. We arrived late and there was no food beyond bar snacks. Only thing open in the vicinity was Burger King!

Great choice for an overnight next to Basel SBB station

Literally steps from the Basel SBB station. We had a view of the front of the station from the room balcony. No worries about catching an early train. A friendly, clean and comfortable hotel for a good nights sleep and a good breakfast. Spacious room with a view and a good shower - and, oddly, an exercise bike in the room if you like that sort of thing. Perhaps a little dated now (including a highlight of a hilariously 1970s booklet about the hotel dragons) but spotless nevertheless.

A nice and charming hotel with easy public transportation access

The hotel is situated right next to the railway station and there is a tram stop right in front of the hotel. The hotel provides day tickets to the public transport so it was very easy to take the tram a few stops to the centre. There are plenty of restaurants and food opportunities around the hotel, including the Markthalle food court. The hotel was clean and staff very friendly.

A comfortable, convenient stay in Basel

It is very convenient from the train station and easy to pick up trams to take you in every direction. My room was well appointed and comfortable. It was better than I expected, to be honest! Breakfast has good options, and it is possible to sit outside on a nice day.

I could have done with a thicker or better pillow. The price - it is expensive during Art Basel week.

Breakfast was very satisfying, room was very clean and spacious, location was excellent. Within walking distance to the train station and all other bus and trolley transportation. The Hotel staff was very helpful with information about things to see and do and how to get around in town.

A centrally-located hotel with plenty of space in rooms, and professional and friendly staff. We were given Basel Cards with our stay, which allowed us to use public transport and discounts on tourist activities and attractions.

We really enjoyed our stay here. There was noise from the tram station in front of the hotel. We were not bothered by the noise, but others might be more sensitive to it.

The room was quite noisy as had all the trams in the square below, but the hotel provided earplugs which totally solved the problem. The staff were all great, helpful and friendly.

Large, comfortable room.

A good size room with large bathroom and shower. Room appeared to be recently re-furbished. A good location, close to train station and trams. Basel old town was easily accessed by walking or tram. Nice breakfast room, but a bit expensive to eat there every morning.

Tram interchange was below our window and was very noisy so we had to close the window at night. This meant we had to put the AC on to get some air, but the AC was a bit too intense even on the lowest fan setting.
